Supreme Star Card Master

Chapter 986: Chapter 779: Fire Cloud City

Inside Qingming Palace.

In order to participate in the Selection of the Fierce Moon by the Central Alliance, Su Yuan also instructed Teng Jinghua to go to the White Ice Hall and have Luo Bingtong give him some special training to improve.

They are all Ice Element cultivators, and with Luo Bingtong’s current strength and insight, guiding Teng Jinghua to improve is more than enough.

Over the past year, Luo Bingtong has even killed a Burning Sun Star Beast on the sea, and most people in the palace are aware of his formidable strength.

So upon hearing that he could receive guidance from Luo Bingtong, Teng Jinghua was naturally overjoyed!

As a result, from that day on, at noon every day, people coming and going outside the White Ice Hall would hear painful screams coming from inside right on time.

At first, they would stop suddenly, but later on, those screams seemed to become more enduring as if tempered by training.

Of course, these are things Su Yuan would not know...

Many days later, the Selection of the Fierce Moon is approaching.

Cultivators from all over the Western Desert are coming from everywhere, making the Central Region more bustling with activity.

Fire Cloud City is the second-largest city under the Fire God Alliance, other than Fire God City, and the selection of Fiends and Fierce Moons is held here every year as well.

Su Yuan entered the city along with Luo Bingtong and Yang Yifeng, with Ruan Ruan perched on his shoulder.

”It truly is a magnificent and splendid city...”

Su Yuan looked up and observed, seeing various statues of gods and Buddhas all over the city.

There were both celestial beings who manipulate fire and the Buddha holding a lamp to the sun...

Su Yuan examined these statues, noting that in the Eastern Continent, people or forces who believe in Buddhism are rather rare.

At this point, Yang Yifeng quietly said beside him, ”The Fire God Alliance of the Western Desert indeed has some foundation, having been the strongest in the Western Desert as early as fifty or sixty years ago.

However, this alliance has become much more subdued now, with two Chongyang Realm experts, and they haven’t recklessly expanded to places like the Xunyang Domain.

If that former Alliance Leader Zuo still existed, the Fire God Alliance now would have three Chongyang experts, and perhaps unifying the Central Region wouldn’t be impossible.”

Su Yuan’s eyes moved slightly; according to Yang Yifeng, decades ago, the Fire God Alliance had two leaders, an Alliance Leader Zuo and an Alliance Leader You.

The current Cao Yuanzheng was the Alliance Leader You, and as for that Alliance Leader Zuo, his strength was even slightly stronger than Cao Yuanzheng’s!

However, the once-thriving Fire God Alliance seemed to have offended someone by accident, and later that Alliance Leader Zuo was seriously injured and never appeared again.

He might have already died from his wounds, or perhaps he is still in hiding somewhere, closed-off and surviving...

If it weren’t for having someone like Yang Yifeng, who was a former King Level expert, Su Yuan wouldn’t have known such secretive matters.

At this moment, with people flowing through Fire Cloud City, Su Yuan was about to continue forward with Luo Bingtong and Yang Yifeng.

However, Yang Yifeng pointed to a nearby tavern and said:

”You all go ahead, I’ll have a drink and catch up later, I’ve heard rumors about the Sunburn Spirits of this Central Region for a long time.”

Su Yuan laughed: ”If teacher needs, I’ll have someone bring it every day from now on.”

”Hahaha, alright.” Yang Yifeng chuckled, waved his hand, and then walked toward the tavern, ”You all go.”

Su Yuan nodded. In his teacher’s eyes, the selection of the Fierce Moon involving the Radiant Moon level duels was probably very dull and not as enjoyable as drinking wine.

So he turned, bringing Luo Bingtong towards the Fire Cloud Arena for the Fierce Moon selection.

Fire Cloud City, the massive Fire Cloud Arena.

Su Yuan took Luo Bingtong to find two seats on the south side to sit down: ”It’s even more lively than I imagined.”

”Mm.” Feeling the crowd, Luo Bingtong subconsciously leaned into Su Yuan’s arms, ”So many... people.”

Su Yuan glanced around, noting that there were still two hours before the Selection of the Fierce Moon began, and at this moment the entire arena was already close to ten thousand people, and the numbers kept increasing!

Normally, Su Yuan and Luo Bingtong, both with silver-white hair, might be quite eye-catching.

But now there were simply too many people, and Star Card Masters usually had hair of various colors, so the two of them didn’t particularly stand out.

Su Yuan looked towards the high platform in the north.

There, Cao Yuanzheng was already seated, with another middle-aged man beside him.

It was the City Lord of Fire Cloud City and another Chongyang Realm expert of the Fire God Alliance—Qiu Rong.

This grand event held every five years, the selection of the Fierce Moon, had attracted essentially all sizes of forces from the Western Desert to send their representatives to watch.

The four sects of the Central Alliance were on the north high platform, while all other second and third-rate forces were stationed on the platforms to the east, south, and west.

Su Yuan slightly sensed, and apart from Cao Yuanzheng, there were five or six Burning Sun experts from various sects and factions on the platforms in the east, west, and south.

After a while, with a flash of Thunder Light, a burly middle-aged man swiftly arrived at the north platform from afar.

”Pavilion Master Lin Yong of Thunder Fire Pavilion... Took four Burning Sun Star Cores from him, but I’ve never actually seen him.” Su Yuan scrutinized him.

Soon, a youth wearing a Yin Yang Eight Trigrams Robe descended from afar, and it was the Sect Leader of the Yin Yang Sect, Zhou Yi.

Su Yuan looked at Zhou Yi and couldn’t help but chuckle softly, a few traces of cold light flashing in his eyes...

As time passed, in the arena below, there were more and more Radiant Moon level experts, totaling over a hundred, and most were at the Full Moon level, all aimed at participating in this Selection of the Fierce Moon.

And Radiant Moon level experts from first-class forces like the Fire God Alliance and the Yin Yang Sect had also entered the field.

Having one or two Fierce Moons in one’s own faction could significantly boost the faction’s reputation and influence.

This is precisely the primary reason the Central Alliance established the selection battles for Fiends and Fierce Moons, so the Fire God Alliance and others would select two or three experts to strive for a place as a Fierce Moon.

At this moment, Teng Jinghua had also entered the arena, placing his left hand on the Ice Cold Long Sword and holding the Detachment Talisman supplied by the arena in his right.

Teng Jinghua’s eyes scanned the field, and according to Su Yuan’s instructions, he quickly found his target...

At noon, when the sun was at its zenith, Cao Yuanzheng stood up on the northern high platform and surveyed the entire arena.

”Ladies and gentlemen, as the sun reaches its zenith, and the sky is clear, today marks the five-yearly Selection of the Fierce Moon.

The rules are the same as before; the last twelve remaining will have the opportunity to contend for the Twelve Fierce Moon positions.

Without further ado, let the Central Alliance’s Selection of the Fierce Moon... officially begin!”

As soon as the words were spoken, a spherical barrier of light rose within the entire arena, covering the field below.

With the flickering of Silver Light, everyone in the arena was pulled into another even larger subspace, with only a compressed image projected in mid-air over the arena.

Just the size of an ordinary arena naturally couldn’t withstand so many Radiant Moon level participants in simultaneous combat and destruction, which is why the Fire God Alliance heavily invested to create this competition space.

”It’s starting!”

”Little Wu, go for it, you’re the most talented in our Fire Lion Team!”

”Old Wolf, bite them to death!”

”...”

Su Yuan glanced around, the audience was in a frenzy, many stood up and shouted!

Meanwhile, inside the competition space of the Fire Cloud Arena, it was completely isolated from seeing or hearing outside.

If one encountered danger, no one would come to their rescue, only by activating the special Detachment Jade Talisman would one be considered eliminated, and subsequently be forcibly expelled from the competition space.

At this moment, over a hundred people were warily watching each other in the competition space.

With a single move triggering widespread action, it wasn’t long before with someone making a move, the entire competition space instantly descended into chaos.

Spirit Light Burst, continuous roars, and over a hundred Radiant Moon level experts were immediately tangled in a fight!
