Supreme Star Card Master

Chapter 923: Chapter 719: Alchemy Dao

Su Yuan wasn’t suddenly deciding to practice alchemy; he had already considered it the first time he used the Sun Spirit Pill during the Waning Moon Stage.

Previously, it was not a concern; Su Yuan had already progressed fast enough, especially during the Radiant Moon breakthrough, which even surprised himself.

But the Burning Sun Level was different. Cultivation at the Burning Sun level is often calculated in decades!

Su Yuan’s cultivation journey thus far took far less than ten years, which shows just how prolonged this process can be.

This was naturally unacceptable for Su Yuan.

Having just the Phoenix Vein and the legendary Soul Card wasn’t enough to accelerate; if one wants to further enhance the cultivation speed, then the greatest reliance is on elixirs!

For humans, using spirit plants and fruits directly often leads to wasting a lot of energy.

Moreover, some treasures cannot be used directly, like the Star Core.

But if they can be refined into elixirs, they can maximize the effects of various treasures!

The Sun Spirit Pill is invaluable, able to increase the probability of the Radiant Moon breaking through to the Burning Sun level.

And for the Burning Sun level, the Sun Spirit Pill itself is a top-grade elixir for enhancing cultivation!

However, not only is the Sun Spirit Pill difficult to refine and very costly, but it’s also in high demand, resulting in it often having a price but no market.

To ask an Alchemy Grandmaster to refine a Sun Spirit Pill usually requires two or three Burning Sun Star Cores, which is extremely costly.

This time, after conquering Shake and Lianqi, Su Yuan assessed the situation and assisted the military in occupying the two territories, also gaining significant merit.

Su Yuan originally wanted to ask if there were any treasures in the department that could replenish his Origin, but there were none at all.

A treasure that can replenish a King Level Origin is unimaginably valuable, a treasure at the King Level itself.

Moreover, these kinds of treasures, besides repairing the Origin, usually can also enhance the King Level Origin and have long been in short supply!

Even the Sky Patrol Department doesn’t have much in stock.

After all, cases like Yang Yifeng losing Origin are even rarer than soul injuries.

Thus, Su Yuan applied for a Sun Spirit Pill and could only get one, which is still on its way.

But for Su Yuan, a single Sun Spirit Pill is like a drop in the ocean.

And if he could refine the Sun Spirit Pill himself, he could turn every Burning Sun Star Beast he hunts into Sun Spirit Pills, achieving self-sufficiency and greatly enhancing his cultivation speed!

For others, this might seem somewhat fanciful.

But for Su Yuan, it’s not impossible...

Su Yuan looked at the ”Clearing Vein Pill” alchemy recipe and a few basic alchemy books, then immediately stood up, waved his hand to gather them up.

Su Yuan walked into the Treasure Hall, following the index compiled by Ashley to a corner of the hall.

Here were three pill furnaces of different designs, two of Blue Grade and one of Green Grade.

Su Yuan easily decided on the Azure Dragon-shaped furnace.

”Azure Dragon Elixir Furnace, a Super Blue Grade pill furnace made from the body of an Azure Dragon, capable of balancing material properties and reducing conflicts, with some effect of nurturing pills.”

”Super Blue Stage, it’s perfect.”

Su Yuan put away the Azure Dragon Elixir Furnace, wondering which unfortunate soul had left it behind after dying at his hands.

Then Su Yuan found a secluded place, set the furnace ready, and prepared to start alchemy.

The materials needed for the Clearing Vein Pill were extremely simple; one stalk of Sandalwood Grass is a Second Stage Spiritual Plant, and the rest are Level One Spiritual Plants.

For an average academy student, the cost of one furnace might be significant, given the Second Stage Spiritual Plant Sandalwood Grass, but for Su Yuan, it was no big deal.

Su Yuan placed the materials correctly, transforming Star Power into flames to ignite the furnace.

An Artifact Refiner could use an Artifact Refining Furnace to generate high temperatures, not requiring the refiner to be a Fire Element Star Card Master.

But an Alchemist must have high precision in temperature control, needing to manage flames themselves!

As a Divine Fire holder, Su Yuan could easily transform Fire Star Power.

”Boom!”

In just half an hour, there was a loud explosion, and smoke suddenly billowed from the burning Azure Dragon Elixir Furnace.

Su Yuan opened up the furnace to see the materials charred and fused into an indistinguishable mess.

”As expected, it failed.”

That’s alchemy; if successful, it’s fine, but a failure means the entire batch is ruined. It’s no wonder that alchemy isn’t something everyone can learn...

Su Yuan cleaned the furnace and started to reflect.

”According to the recipe, the flames should have started from a simmer, gradually increasing the heat, and then shifting to rapid high-heat bursts.

Concerned about overdoing it, I slowed down, but instead of reaching the necessary heat to trigger the Sandalwood Grass’s cooling properties to counterbalance the heat...”

After reviewing, Su Yuan realized what went wrong.

After meticulously going through the recipe again, Su Yuan took another set of materials and placed them in the furnace, igniting it once more.

”Boom!”

”Boom!”

”Boom...”

During his first attempt at alchemy, due to inexperience and lack of familiarity, Su Yuan encountered many issues that beset most alchemy apprentices.

Without guidance, Su Yuan repeated many of the mistakes a rookie alchemist is prone to, causing several explosions!

However, with Su Yuan’s keen observation and command of Star Power, as long as he comprehended the cause of an error, he wouldn’t repeat it.

Most apprentice alchemists struggle with control, but for Su Yuan, this wasn’t a concern.

Constantly making and correcting mistakes, starting over... Finally, after more than half a day, Su Yuan stepped away, allowing the pill to continue burning safely in the furnace.

”The refinement part is nearly complete, and the pill is entering the nurturing phase. The key now is whether it will be successful when I open the lid!”

In no time, hours had passed.

The pill furnace started making louder and louder crackling sounds.

Though it seemed unstable, according to alchemy techniques, this was similar to water about to boil: the energy inside the pills was undergoing the final reaction and concentration—a sign that it was about to be completed!

Su Yuan had already returned to the Azure Dragon Elixir Furnace to ensure that the flame’s output remained even.

After a while, the crackling finally ceased.

From the dragon’s mouth of the Azure Dragon Elixir Furnace, light blue smoke rose, eventually dissipating slowly.

Su Yuan knew it was about time, gave the furnace a light slap, and the lid flew off, settling neatly to the side.

In an instant, faint iridescent light shot from inside the cauldron, accompanied by a dry yet slightly cool sweet fragrance!

Inside the furnace, three light green pills appeared before Su Yuan.

”Clearing Vein Pill, completed!”

Su Yuan’s eyes sparkled with joy, feeling quite pleased!

Even though it was just a basic ordinary pill, it marked the first step he took from nothing into the Alchemy Dao, a truly rewarding achievement.

But now was not the time for jubilation; the crucial thing was whether it was as he expected...it all depended on now...

”Detected that the host successfully refined a pill, ordinary pill ’Clearing Vein Pill’, now unlocking ’Alchemy Dao’ module!”

”Indeed! It’s here!”

Su Yuan breathed a sigh of relief, then light gleamed in his eyes!

”System, open the Alchemy Dao module!”

[Alchemy Dao]

[Level: Level One (Knowledge: 2%, Experience 0/5000)]

[Pill: Clearing Vein Pill (Level One)]

”Just like with the Array Barrier, a new module has opened, and it also consists of knowledge and experience!”

Looking at the Alchemy Dao panel, identical to the Array Path module, Su Yuan smiled with satisfaction.

Improving knowledge, enhancing experience?

This is a piece of cake for me!
