Supreme Star Card Master

Chapter 191: Chapter 165: Initial Victory Chapter 191: Chapter 165: Initial Victory “Beast Tamer?”

Seeing Ye Qing summon the Storm Elf and the Angry Wave Profound Turtle, everyone from Demon City was taken aback.

However, soon someone recognized Ye Qing.

“I remember now, that seems to be Ye Qing, the champion of the recent Beast Tamer Newcomer Championship!”

“Yes, it’s him!

No wonder he looked so familiar!”

…

Ji Xuan pondered, “Last time Su Yuan was a Summoner; now it’s the Beast Tamer’s turn…”

The audience discussed fervently, and those sitting around the ring, like Ji Xuan, could naturally hear them.

Whether Beast Tamer or Summoner, their true combat power couldn’t be entirely determined by themselves.

After all, previously in the Demon City Dueling Hall, Su Yuan, who was at the Bronze Middle Stage, summoned two terrifying Bronze High Stage Hellfires and defeated Yang Xu.

Although this Beast Tamer named Ye Qing was at the Bronze Middle Stage, his beasts could very well be at the Bronze High Stage!

On the stage, the Storm Elf quickly soared into the air, while the Angry Wave Profound Turtle raised its head and roared, sending two water tornadoes hurtling towards Yang Xu from both sides.

Yang Xu remained composed.

With a flick of his spear, profound magma surged within the spear’s body, resembling a bright and scorching fire line.

Yang Xu channeled his Star Power and swept away the two water tornadoes with a single strike.

The spear’s body shimmered with fiery light, causing the water tornadoes to burst apart with a “boom boom.”

“The blast effect is indeed quite practical.” Satisfied with the results, Yang Xu couldn’t help but feel a tinge of regret.

“Too bad I’m still missing the Phoenix Nirvana Stone!”

This new weapon of Yang Xu’s was named the Red Rock Fire Line, forged using third-level materials with molten red stone as the primary material.

Although its penetration was weakened, lowering its one-hit-kill ability, it had a “blast” effect, significantly enhancing its overall power.

The molten red stone could generate magma to charge the Phoenix Nirvana Stone.

Combined, this would elevate the weapon’s strength dramatically, making it at least mid-grade!

Unfortunately, Su Yuan and Geng Qiuyi had taken the Phoenix Nirvana Stone.

At this moment, after repelling the water tornadoes, Yang Xu’s body flared up with fire.

He accelerated suddenly and dashed past the slow-moving Angry Wave Profound Turtle.

“A Bronze Level Beast Tamer can typically contract three beasts, so Ye Qing should have one more beast.”

Yang Xu advanced towards Ye Qing while keeping wary of the high-altitude Storm Elf.

Sure enough, as expected, Ye Qing raised his hand and summoned another beast—a black demon ape with eight thick arms!

“A Bronze High Stage Eight-Armed Demon Ape!”

“Impressive, the Eight-Armed Demon Ape can evolve into the Tongbei Ape, one of the four ancient epic demon monkeys.

It’s said to be extremely skilled in combat.”

“Yang Xu is in for a tough fight now.”

The spectators murmured, quickly recognizing the Master Grade demon ape.

This was indeed Ye Qing’s strongest beast.

Although not among the top species like dragon, phoenix, or qilin, it possessed the bloodline of a Great Demon, comparable to dragon-phoenix hybrids, with formidable strength.

As soon as the Eight-Armed Demon Ape appeared, it opened its ferocious mouth and roared at Yang Xu.

A circle of visible black sound waves erupted, enveloping Yang Xu.

Spiritual Skill: Ape’s Fury!

“Not good!”

Yang Xu immediately activated his Star Power defense, but spiritual attacks were difficult to fend off with regular Star Power defenses.

In an instant, Yang Xu felt dizzy, his vision blurred, and even his thoughts became sluggish.

Meanwhile, the Eight-Armed Demon Ape stopped roaring and swiftly charged at Yang Xu.

Yang Xu realized the danger and tried to retreat.

But the Angry Wave Profound Turtle roared, and the Storm Elf screeched.

In no time, the wind howled, and waves surged!

The fierce wind and seawater combined, forming a dual field that hindered Yang Xu’s retreat and pushed him towards the Eight-Armed Demon Ape!

“Damn this Storm Elf and Angry Wave Profound Turtle!”

Yang Xu cursed internally while mustering all his Star Power to resist the wind and waves, only managing to take a step or two with great difficulty.

Escaping from the combined force of the water and wind field was nearly impossible even with enough time.

In just a few moments, the Eight-Armed Demon Ape had already reached Yang Shuo, its eight arms smashing down like giant clubs with a “boom boom boom.”

Lacking many techniques, the Eight-Armed Demon Ape’s combat style was simple and brutal, overpowering its opponents with sheer strength.

Already dizzy, Yang Xu struggled to move within the watery and windy domain, barely able to lift his spear to defend himself as the ape overpowered him.

Knowing he couldn’t continue like this, Yang Xu gathered Star Power in his left hand and pressed it against his forehead.

The next moment, a spark ignited on his forehead, forming a flame mark, the same enhancement skill he used before against Su Yuan.

Fire surged from his body, soaring skyward.

Swinging his Red Rock Fire Line spear around, he created a condensed fire ring that expanded outward from himself at a steady pace.

The Eight-Armed Demon Ape roared, waving two arms to smash the swiftly enlarging fire ring.

However, as soon as its palms touched the fire ring, it cried out in pain; its hands were bloodied by the ring’s explosive power!

The dual-effect blue skill, Blast Fire Ring, inflicted terrible blast damage on any enemy it touched.

Combined with the “blast” trait of the Red Rock Fire Line spear, the dual effect amplified its power immensely!

Although Yang Xu had only mastered the Blast Fire Ring skill to a proficient level, using it with the Red Rock Fire Line spear increased its power to Great Success, making it impossible for the barehanded Eight-Armed Demon Ape to withstand.

The frightened Eight-Armed Demon Ape retreated rapidly to avoid the fire ring, while the Storm Elf enshrouded it in a mist of clear wind.

The Eight-Armed Demon Ape suddenly became agile, leaping high to avoid the expanding fire ring.

Not only the Eight-Armed Demon Ape, but even Ye Qing and the Angry Wave Profound Turtle also used the Storm Elf’s light-body spell to leap over the fire ring that covered most of the stage.

Although it didn’t heavily injure his enemies, the Blast Fire Ring not only forced back the Eight-Armed Demon Ape but also disrupted the water and wind field of the Angry Wave Profound Turtle and Storm Elf.

The flame mark on Yang Xu’s forehead continued to burn as he turned into a fiery shadow, striking towards the Eight-Armed Demon Ape once again.

“Do you really think you’re the only one with weapons?” Ye Qing sneered, raising his hand to form a seal.

Two flashes of golden light appeared in his hands.

Simultaneously, golden light shone in the hands of the Eight-Armed Demon Ape, transforming into a short stick covered in black sinister patterns and a single-handed golden hammer.

Mad Demon Short Stick, Arhat Demon Suppressing Hammer!

The sight of these weapons stunned the Demon City students watching the battle!

“Holy crap, two blue star artifacts?!”

“We don’t even have one, and he has two?”

“No wonder he’s a Beast Tamer; he truly has deep pockets.

Ordinary people can’t afford this!”

Ye Qing was the only direct-lineage Beast Tamer of his generation in the Ye Family.

Though the family had rules, the resources Ye Qing received were still far more than his peers!

This wasn’t all.

After summoning the two star artifacts, Ye Qing used the Frenzy Technique.

The Eight-Armed Demon Ape’s eyes turned blood-red, its body swelled, and its muscles knotted.

In an instant, it transformed into a menacing Great Demon wielding divine weapons.

“Destroy him, Eight-Armed Demon Ape!”

“Roar!!”

At Ye Qing’s command, the Eight-Armed Demon Ape went all out, madly swinging the Mad Demon Short Stick and the Arhat Demon Suppressing Hammer at Yang Xu!

The flame mark on Yang Xu’s forehead burned brightly, and fiery gunflowers blossomed from his spearmanship.

But sheer strength prevailed.

Although the Eight-Armed Demon Ape’s Star Power was inferior to Yang Xu’s, its frenzied physical power rivaled the enhanced Yang Xu.

Coupled with its reckless fighting style, it quickly pushed Yang Xu back.

The Storm Elf and Angry Wave Profound Turtle didn’t remain idle either.

They hurled powerful ranged skills like Gentle Wind Wind Blade and Heavy Pressure Water Cannon at him.

Even with his enhanced skills, getting hit would mean serious injury.

“I can’t drag this out any longer!”

Watching Ye Qing observing with folded arms, Yang Xu realized his frontal strength was inferior.

But as a Beast Tamer, there was still a chance to defeat him directly.

Determined, Yang Xu shouted, injecting a large amount of Star Power into the Red Rock Fire Line spear, sweeping it against the Mad Demon Short Stick.

“Get out of my way!”

The Red Rock Fire Line spear blazed with fire.

Channeling all its explosive properties, it sent the Eight-Armed Demon Ape flying!

“Here’s my chance!”

Yang Xu’s eyes lit up.

He shot towards Ye Qing, infusing Star Power into his spear.

Leaping high, he thrust it towards the defenseless Ye Qing.

“Shocking Flame Spear!”

Ye Qing sneered, lifting his hand.

A flash of light appeared in front of him, and suddenly, the Angry Wave Profound Turtle appeared in front of Ye Qing.

The Mystic Turtle roared, its Star Power surging into a torrent, forming a high-speed water wall, enveloping itself and Ye Qing.

“This is…

Recall Technique!”

Yang Xu’s face darkened.

His spear pierced the water wall, the power of flames clashing fiercely with the power of the sea.

After a moment of deadlock, Yang Xu broke through the water barrier but was met head-on by the Mystic Turtle’s shell!

“Damn it!” Yang Xu’s expression changed.

He couldn’t dodge in time and was hit squarely by the Mystic Turtle.

As a Master Star Beast, the Mystic Turtle had only E-level agility, but its strength was definitely over 66.

It sent Yang Xu flying!

Before he could recompose himself, the Eight-Armed Demon Ape and the hovering Storm Elf were already upon him.

The Eight-Armed Demon Ape swung the Mad Demon Short Stick and Arhat Demon Suppressing Hammer down together.

The Storm Elf’s wings brimming with sharp wind elements.

The blue skill Wind Ripping Slash was ready!

“I concede!” Yang Xu shouted decisively.

Seeing this, Ye Qing mentally commanded his beasts to stop.

“Yang Xu from Demon Academy concedes.

The first match, Ye Qing from Demon Capital Academy wins!” Ke Zhen Nan announced expressionlessly.

To Ke Zhen Nan, the outcome of this battle was clear once Ye Qing equipped the Eight-Armed Demon Ape with two blue star artifacts.

Therefore, even though Demon City lost, Ke Zhen Nan’s expression didn’t change.

He simply signaled Yang Xu to leave the stage.
