Supreme Star Card Master

Chapter 167: Chapter 144 Auction Begins_2 Chapter 167: Chapter 144 Auction Begins_2 …

Chen Junyan meticulously introduced the auction content and rules.

She then smiled and said, “If the Star Stones you have are insufficient, you can apply on-site for an exchange with our Beidou Consortium.

Star Cores, Star Cards, materials, intelligence, and antiquities, anything of value can be exchanged.

We have professional personnel responsible for the appraisal, providing you with a satisfactory price.

Alright, I believe everyone is here to see the treasures, not to hear me ramble.

I’ll stop talking now, and next, let’s welcome the first treasure of this auction…

the Golden Phoenix Jade Pecking Saber!”

As soon as Chen Junyan’s voice fell, two beautiful young maids in their early twenties, dressed in black gowns, carried a silver tray to the stage.

On the tray was a short saber carved with gold and jade about a foot long.

On the blade, there was an engraving of a Golden Phoenix striking the sky.

Even from a distance, it gave off a sharp and dazzling aura.

Chen Junyan took the short saber, looked at the crowd, and said, “Many people may think this short saber is all about a luxurious appearance, but in reality…”

Chen Junyan took a fist-sized piece of Second Stage Black Water Steel from another maid’s silver tray.

She gently slid the short saber across it, and the entire block of Black Water Steel was easily cut in half.

“So sharp!”

“Isn’t Black Water Steel known for its hardness?

How did it get cut so easily?”

“Even a superior Blue Star Artifact definitely couldn’t do this!”

Chen Junyan’s demonstration shocked the crowd at the auction.

They all carefully examined the Golden Phoenix short saber in her hand.

Although Chen Junyan was a Gold Level expert, the auction room also had several other Gold Level experts, with several sitting in the front row.

Chen Junyan indeed did not use Star Power nor exert much force, yet the Black Water Steel, which is quite hard among Second Stage materials, was smoothly sliced like tofu by the Golden Phoenix short saber!

“A Blue Star Artifact right from the start!”

Su Yuan’s eyes slightly narrowed.

This was undoubtedly a Blue Star Artifact, and an extraordinary one at that!

Geng Qiuyi also showed a serious expression.

Though he anticipated that something good would appear at the start to liven up the atmosphere, he didn’t expect it to be something this good.

For Star Card Masters, sharpness is an essential basic attribute of weapons!

Even without other traits, this Golden Phoenix Jade Pecking Saber would definitely be a top-grade item among Blue Star Artifacts!

Seeing the ongoing discussions, Chen Junyan waited for a moment before smiling and saying, “This Golden Phoenix Jade Pecking Saber is crafted by Liu Chuyun, a former prodigy Artifact Refiner from Demon Academy and the new rising star Artifact Refiner of our Beidou Consortium.

Made primarily with Lead Charm Incense Gold and Gold-breaking Jade, combined with a rare amount of Golden Phoenix Blood, it is a Blue Star Artifact that brings ‘sharpness’ to the extreme.

It can cut through hair and break gold and jade with ease!”

The audience nodded in understanding.

“Liu Chuyun Master’s works are always known for their elegant and luxurious style, highly favored by female Star Card Masters…”

“This Golden Phoenix Jade Pecking Saber is not only favored by female Star Card Masters…

Its immense sharpness makes it a superior work among Blue Star Artifacts.

No wonder he was the runner-up in the national Artifact Refining competition for colleges!”

“It seems the flower series Star Artifacts recently launched by Beidou were also his work, probably waiting for today to push him to fame.”

Su Yuan and Geng Qiuyi were not from Demon City, so they were not very familiar with him.

However, after hearing the discussions around them, it was evident that this Artifact Refining Master named Liu Chuyun had quite a reputation.

Seeing the atmosphere was perfect, Chen Junyan seized the moment to announce, “The Golden Phoenix Jade Pecking Saber, starting bid is 500 centis, with each bid increment no less than 20 centis!”

Such a starting price was just a bit higher than an ordinary Blue Star Card, which was quite low.

Even the worst Blue Star Artifact could fetch over a thousand centis!

However, auctions often start with very low prices, resulting in final prices that exceed the actual value.

The competitive atmosphere of auctions plays a role here.

But more importantly, the items auctioned are usually rare pieces not commonly seen otherwise.

Otherwise, people would just buy them at a mall instead of competing at an auction.

At this moment, as soon as Chen Junyan’s voice fell, someone immediately placed a bid.

“500 centis!”

“600 centis!”

“800 centis!”

…

“1800 centis!”

Before long, the price was pushed to 1800 centis.

At this point, 1800 centis were just about the price of a decent Blue Star Artifact.

After reaching this price, fewer people were competing for the Golden Phoenix Jade Pecking Saber.

Given its quality, it was definitely worth more, at least 2200 centis.

However, the Golden Phoenix Jade Pecking Saber was a short saber.

Not many Star Card Masters use short sabers since shorter weapons imply greater risk.

If they lost their lives, nothing else would matter.

At this moment, only three people continued to compete: a middle-aged man with a black face in a black robe, a petite girl, and another middle-aged woman.

They all looked at the Golden Phoenix Jade Pecking Saber on the stage with burning eyes.

Though they all wanted it, they were bidding increasingly cautiously.

“1850 centis!”

“1900 centis!”

“1950 centis!”

“2000 centis!”

At this point, a rather clear and pleasant voice came from a box upstairs:

“2200 centis!”

This person directly raised the price by 200 centis!

Instantly, the three people who had been bidding quieted down, their expressions turned displeased.

Geng Qiuyi clicked his tongue: “People in Demon City are indeed wealthy.”

Su Yuan laughed: “After all, this is the economic center of the Great Flame, with many more wealthy people than in our distant Demon Capital.”

On stage, Chen Junyan also thought the bidding was about to end, but a sudden bid from a guest box raised the price significantly.

She couldn’t help but feel excited as she called out,

“Box 2 has bid 2200 centis!

2200 centis, does anyone else want to bid?

The Golden Phoenix Jade Pecking Saber can cut through gold and jade.

For Star Card Masters following the assassin path, it is an unparalleled divine weapon!”

The middle-aged black-faced man and the petite girl hesitated, eventually giving up.

However, the middle-aged woman gritted her teeth and bid again: “2300 centis!”

“2500 centis.” The bid from Box 2 followed almost immediately, the voice light and casual, as if the money meant nothing.

The middle-aged woman looked towards Box 2, sighed, and stopped bidding.

“2500 centis for the first time,”

“2500 centis for the second time…”

“2500 centis for the third time…

Sold!”

Chen Junyan felt both joy and some regret.

If the middle-aged woman had raised the price a bit more, the person in Box 2 might have continued bidding.

Chen Junyan put the Golden Phoenix Jade Pecking Saber back in the tray and had the maids deliver it to the guest in Box 2.

She then started the auction for the next item.

“Next, we continue the auction with the second item, a Green Grade spear with the penetration trait…”
