My Sister Insisted on Swapping Marriages, and I Became a Marchioness Instead

Chapter 613: Chapter 613: Removing the Firewood from Under the Pot

Marquis Gu hurriedly embraced the person in his arms and coaxed, ”This is something Mr. Songshan and I had also considered. Prince Qi has the same plan; now, sleep, sleep.”

Unfortunately, mentioning this made Qin Yuan even more awake. She struggled for a bit, broke free from Marquis Gu’s embrace, sat up, and stared at him, asking, ”You better tell me honestly, did you all foresee this and then activated the pawn buried on Yelv Guza’s side? The person who came to rescue me today was from Prince Qi.”

Prince Qi’s people are already arranged beside Yelv Guza.

These men just love using the beauty trap.

Indeed, men understand men best.

They’re all cut from the same cloth.

Lustful!

Marquis Gu also got up, lying half-reclined on the bed, chest exposed, eyes half-closed, mumbling, ”I’ve been laboring outside for so many days, haven’t had a good sleep, you ah!”

This woman can’t wait till nightfall for revenge, better not provoke her.

”After what Yelv Xianyong said, how could I not be cautious? Prince Qi, upon knowing the Crown Prince had close ties with Yelv Guza, placed people inside to specifically gather some information. This time, Mr. Songshan sent a message to me, and Prince Qi was informed that Yelv Guza was going to the You family, so all plans were arranged.”

I had already said, hadn’t I, that nothing would happen to you.”

The initial plan was to knock Qin Yuan out and take her away, but she was so alert and skilled with needles, it didn’t work at all, and instead, it harmed King Jin.

Thinking of this, Marquis Gu felt quite proud.

His wife is really beautiful and formidable.

Qin Yuan reached out and pinched his chest, scolding, ”Why didn’t you say something sooner, making Treasure Bead and I worry all day.”

Marquis Gu hastily cried out, ”My queen, spare me.”

Qin Yuan couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

After hearing this, the discomfort in her heart completely dissipated. Originally, they agreed that Marquis Gu would support her at the You family, but in the end, he never showed up.

Although nothing happened, she secretly kept this in mind.

Waiting to deal with this detestable man in the future.

Marquis Gu sighed, ”One is my wife, the other is my sister, although Treasure Bead knows a bit of martial arts, it’s nothing much. I knew they had ill intentions, how could I not prepare?”

Qin Yuan smiled as she lay back down, and Marquis Gu quickly embraced her, pulled up the gauze blanket, and lightly patted it: ”Now, can you sleep?”

Qin Yuan shook her head, ”Not yet, tell me honestly, what’s going on with the Mo family?”

Marquis Gu sighed, ”Can’t hide anything from you, the Mo family is a bit strange, I worry about them a lot... Could the Mo family be involved in the silver theft case, did Little Ni learn something, and that’s why she fled the marriage to come to the Capital? So, this matter I’ve handed over to Feiyun Pavilion, letting Mr. Songshan meticulously sort the information, who knows what might be discovered.”

Qin Yuan nodded, ”That’s how it should be, in front of my mother, I couldn’t say anything earlier.”

Marquis Gu said, ”This time, the successful robbery was all thanks to Feiyun Pavilion; otherwise, it wouldn’t have gone so smoothly. They made a large sum selling ginseng from other regions, sending it to the Capital for Yelv Guza to bribe his connections.

All cheapened us... No wonder last time we got so much money from the Hostage Mansion.

Who would have thought that after chasing the Yelv people out of the Northern Border, they would find a way to make money; fortunately, we listened to your advice and had someone investigate.”

Qin Yuan breathed a sigh of relief, smiling, ”Cutting off their financial source is like burning their food supply. Without money to pave their way, no matter what they plan to do in the Capital, it won’t work.”

Marquis Gu couldn’t help but tweak her cute nose, smiling, ”You’re right; if we keep a close watch on them in the future, cutting off their path is as good as blocking the Crown Prince and others’ financial routes. Just thinking about it makes me happy.”

Qin Yuan seized the opportunity, ”Do you think it would work if we also got involved in the ginseng business? I heard they sell directly across the river to countries like Goryeo, where the price multiplies several times. If we snatch this business, what won’t we achieve in the future?”

The Yelv people wouldn’t dare to come forward and snatch.

They’d naturally discover how the Yelv people exploit the ginseng diggers in Liao Mountain when they go to collect ginseng. There’s no way the Yelv Family can use this to bounce back.

Marquis Gu looked intently at the top of Qin Yuan’s head, smiling, ”You really are something, this move of cutting off the supply under the cauldron is excellent. I’ll go discuss this with Prince Qi, see if he...”

Qin Yuan said, ”Why involve him in this, let’s do it ourselves, and at most, count him in later on. Didn’t I tell you earlier? Now we are forced to form an alliance with Prince Qi, who knows if, once he ascends to that position, he might hold a grudge against you for not accepting his olive branch initially, or even whether he could tolerate you. That’s still considering the best case, what if Prince Qi can’t prevail, we should at least have a backup plan, haven’t you heard about the cunning hare having three burrows?”

Marquis Gu hesitated, ”Is this not a bit...”

Qin Yuan said, ”Didn’t I just give them a tip to stock up on pepper? If they trust me, they’ll naturally make a big profit.”

Marquis Gu thought for a moment, this business plan hasn’t even taken shape yet, why incur Qin Yuan’s displeasure, so he nodded and said, ”As you wish, from now on, the private treasury and the business dealings are all yours to manage, didn’t we agree on this, that you can handle matters both inside and outside the mansion flexibly?”

Only then was Qin Yuan satisfied, murmuring, ”That’s more like it, if you don’t listen to me, you’ll regret it in the future.”

In the previous life, Prince Qi had a high voice in the court, and everyone thought he would be established as the Crown Prince when suddenly, everything vanished, the waters run deep here.

Furthermore, although Gu Jinghui was a companion of the former Crown Prince, he had nothing to do with Prince Qi.

They were neither blood relatives nor in-laws, there’s only a budding tendency to form factions. If they want to form alliances, it would be best to have a marriage arrangement; otherwise, the Crown Prince wouldn’t have racked his brains trying to scheme against Gu Baoshu.

Of course, Qin Yuan wouldn’t be foolish enough to let Gu Jinghui out, inviting trouble for herself.

Marquis Gu was terribly sleepy, extending his strong arm to hold her tight, saying, ”Sleep, sleep.”

The couple slept soundly, while others couldn’t sleep well.

Yelv Guza stormed angrily into the brightly lit hall of the Hostage Mansion, his hair disheveled like a ghost, his eyes sunken and full of bloodshot veins, swinging the whip in his strong arm furiously, shouting, ”You incompetent fools, losing so much silver, still have the guts to face me!”

Seeing the white marks left on the green bricks by the whip, everyone kneeling on the ground gasped and hurriedly pleaded and defended themselves, fearing being too late.

”Young Master, we never expected something to happen on the road, we’ve traveled it many times...”

”Yes, Young Master, usually no one would dare to rob us on that road, we carried both thrusting knives and long spears, who would have thought there’d be an ambush, unless someone leaked the news.”
