My Sister Insisted on Swapping Marriages, and I Became a Marchioness Instead

Chapter 487: Chapter 487: Robbing the Rich

”What if we kill him, what if we don’t?”

Gu Jinghui himself was uncertain of the meaning and asked impulsively.

After the words escaped his mouth, he realized he cared about his little wife’s answer much more than he had thought.

”Kill him?” Qin Yuan looked at Marquis Gu in surprise and said, ”I heard he came to the mansion alone. You have taken him to the martial arts field, even if you kill him no one would know. Why don’t you think about how to explain to the Emperor? It’s best to plead guilty in front of the Emperor; I believe he wouldn’t want to be known for mistreating a hostage and would surely help you cover it up a bit.”

She was thinking far ahead for him.

This is truly killing while I bury.

This is a real couple.

This is a couple working as one!

Marquis Gu was even happier.

If he weren’t concerned with the bloodstains on him, he would have embraced her warmly long ago.

”He’s still alive,” Marquis Gu’s cold voice carried quite a bit of regret: ”Had someone toss him back to the Hostage Mansion.”

”Oh,” Qin Yuan was somewhat regretful too.

This fiend not dying will surely harm Daxing eventually.

This beating really cheapened him.

Gu Jinghui said, ”Let’s go back.”

Qin Yuan just followed him slowly, walking under the moonlight, the tall and short shadows sometimes merging, sometimes parting.

As for Hong Ye and Cui Ming, they had long been stopped by Gu Shiliu, talking at the back.

Upon seeing Gu Shiliu, Hong Ye went quiet; it was Cui Ming who kept asking: ”Didn’t Xiao Dong say the Yelv hostage was to be beaten to death by the Marquis? Where is he?”

Gu Shiliu said, ”Almost there, left a breath.”

Cui Ming asked, ”Then... has Doctor Li seen him?”

”His life is cheap, doesn’t need looking. Go back and lie down for ten days half a month, and he’d be fine.”

Cui Ming: ”...Then Xiao Dong and the others... the medicine box is still here...”

”No problem, have someone send it to them.”

Cui Ming also had nothing more to ask.

Hong Ye silently stood at the side.

Gu Shiliu said, ”I’ll escort you back to Wutong Garden, we’ll follow from afar, not to disturb the masters.”

The way he said it.

Cui Ming pouted, ”We have enough people, no need for you to escort.”

Gu Shiliu glanced at Hong Ye and smiled, ”I also need to follow the masters.”

Cui Ming looked at Hong Ye and also smiled.

Hong Ye cleared her throat and said, ”Then let’s get going.”

Cui Ming inquired a bit more about affairs at the ancestral temple, but Gu Shiliu’s mouth was tight, nothing could be pried out.

Returning to Wutong Garden, Cui Ming whispered to Hong Ye, ”Gu Shiliu is really tight-lipped, just the opposite of you. In the future, he’ll surely have you listening to him, don’t you believe?”

Hong Ye shoved her and said, ”What are you talking about, I only listen to the young lady.”

Cui Ming smirked, ”Still being stubborn, I remembered everything, catch your debts from the past and see how embarrassed you’ll be.”

Hong Ye said, ”Hmph, as if you wouldn’t get married. Tomorrow I’ll find someone like Sixteen for you too, how about Eighteen?”

Cui Ming started tussling with her.

The inner room.

Gu Jinghui had hurriedly bathed and changed clothes, letting Qin Yuan examine his wounds under the lamp.

”Really no wounds on the body, just the hand’s skin was broken.”

Qin Yuan quietly asked, ”How did it break so badly? Already scabbed over.”

”Think about it, he’s more injured than I am. That scoundrel was cagey, came wearing golden silk armor, but it didn’t do any good, our Gu Family skills can strike across mountains.”

”Bragging,” Qin Yuan said with a laugh while applying ointment, ”If you could truly hit a bull across the mountains, would your hand be injured?”

”Couldn’t really kill him,” Gu Jinghui laughed too, explaining softly, ”Wouldn’t be satisfied if I didn’t personally beat him hard.”

Qin Yuan sighed.

This deep-seated vengeance, who knows how many beatings it would take to let go of the anger.

Gu Jinghui asked anxiously, ”Did I worry you, be assured, I have a grasp, won’t involve...”

Qin Yuan cut him off abruptly: ”I’m just heartbroken for my husband, even without seeing it, I can imagine. Husband bears so much, beating him once won’t vent much anger, just slightly better than nothing.”

Gu Jinghui gazed deeply at her, after a moment said, ”I haven’t thought of a good way to deal with them yet.”

The implication was, once he had a good plan, he would finish them off.

Hate doesn’t fade with time, rather deepens with time, engraved in bones and blood, just mentioning it burns the heart.

”A gentleman’s revenge can wait ten years. Yelv hostage operating in the court, buying loyalty, needs quite a bit of silver. Let’s find a way to cut off their income. In a place like the Capital City, without silver, he can’t achieve anything.”

”But have you heard anything?”

Qin Yuan soberly replied: ”Sixteen and Eighteen now control all the town’s porters, cleaners, and beggars, and the information is much nimbler than before. It’s heard a few carts of things were recently moved into the Hostage Mansion, quite heavy, suspected to be gold and silver.”

”Oh?”

Gu Jinghui sat up straight.

Talking about this, he felt rejuvenated.

His eyes sparkled brightly.

Pondering for a moment, he slapped his thigh.

”My wife is truly wise, I’ll go arrange it now, strike the Hostage Mansion tonight.”

Qin Yuan was taken aback: ”What are you doing?”

Gu Jinghui said, ”Didn’t we say rob their gold and silver?”

Qin Yuan: ”...I, I didn’t say that...”

Gu Jinghui was a bit disappointed.

”Turns out it wasn’t meant.”

Qin Yuan hesitated, ”Can it be done like this? There should be a lot of staff in the Hostage Mansion, if Husband takes people to rob and gets caught, what would happen?”

”Of course it can!”

Gu Jinghui eagerly said, ”Tonight Yelv Guza was heavily injured, and his chief warrior, Yelv Xianyong, was taken down by me. Hostage Mansion lacks a backbone; setting a fire at this time will surely panic them. Then I’ll execute a ’feint’, stealthily break into the treasury and take their gold and silver away. They’ll lack the ability to fight back, have no plan, naturally couldn’t figure out who’d done it, only reporting to Capital Governor Mansion. With the skills of Capital Governor Mansion... they’ve been searching for Xu Zhen for so long...”

Later, Qin Yuan also got excited.

”Brilliant, this news came to us secretly, no one would suspect it’s us. Besides, they can’t cause too much commotion, the Hostage Mansion having so much gold and silver would surely draw the court’s attention and suspicion.”

In an instant, Qin Yuan thought of several countermeasures.

Gu Jinghui stood up immediately and said, ”Let’s do it, seize the moment.”

Taking a few strides to the window, he turned back to remind: ”Tonight you sleep early, no need to wait for me.”

Qin Yuan nodded: ”Alright.”

Gu Jinghui then leaped out the window, followed by the sharp sound of a whistle, soon met with responses from various parts of the mansion.

Qin Yuan’s heart surged, donned in a sleeping robe, walked to the window, and looked out.

She had never thought, one day she would be plotting a heist with her husband.

After a while, Hong Ye came in to serve, hesitantly asked after a long moment, ”Miss, is the Marquis seriously injured? Or has he had an upset stomach, why has he been in the bathroom so long without coming out?”
