With how hard things were in the country, the only thing that really motivates the youths these days was the promise of making as much money as possible! This was the entire reason why Gina had dropped out of school to join the Phantom Guild! She made a lot of money from them, and that motivated her to work even harder so she could make more money! Gina was sure that this was also the case with these agents! Gina looked at Jason with a loving smile on her face.

’He says he doesn’t like politics or business, but he’s really good at choosing his words to motivate people. You’ll make an amazing king, Jason.’

This thought went through Gina’s mind, but she quickly turned to the side when one of the agents screamed while jumping back from an Iron-Bladed Falcon that came too close! The Falcon tried to get the girl to pet it, but the girl was absolutely terrified, and she cried out for help when the Falcon screeched and started chasing her! Gina just chuckled as she told Jason that she would be back before she followed after the Falcon with a stern look on her face.

”Hey, get back here right now! Don’t bite her, you animal, she’s not a toy!”

”Help me!”

Riyala was petting the Moonlight Wolf gently, and she watched with a smile on her face as Gina finally caught the Falcon and began scolding it sternly. The Falcon looked like a child that was being reprimanded as it stared at the ground with a sad look on its face, and Gina had to make sure the female agent hadn’t been injured before she helped them make up by showing the female agent that it was safe to pet the Falcon. Even though Riyala had lost most of her emotional connections to Gina, she could tell that Gina was still as reliable as she had always been. Gina was like the emotional foundation that supported Jason’s cold logic, and Riyala couldn’t really think of anyone else who would be a better fit for someone like Jason. Riyala finally turned to look at Jason, and she could feel pride bubbling up from her heart when she saw how everyone was watching him respectfully. Riyala wanted to stand closer to Jason and maybe hold him, but there was a part of her that held her back and prevented her from doing that. Even back in Radgan, Riyala had been hesitant to hold Jason, and the reason for this was simple: Riyala didn’t know if she had the right to do it. Gina might have agreed to allow her to join the relationship, but Riyala was still scared of overstepping her bounds and getting on Gina’s or even Jason’s bad side, so for now, she decided it would be best to just hold herself back.

Jason watched as Gina interacted with the Falcon and the agent at the side, and he just scoffed with a small smile when he saw the agent trying to pet the Falcon, but the Falcon was hiding behind Gina pridefully while glaring at the agent. Apparently, everyone only gets one chance to pet it! If you miss the chance, you’ll never get another one! Jason turned away from the scene, and he called on the superhumans that had come to the guild with him.

”These ten are the first group of superhumans that have agreed to join our guild. We are a relatively new guild, but they’ve put their trust in us, and they were even willing to leave their previous organizations for us. Take care of them properly and make sure you meet all their needs. They’ll be known as Team Alpha, led by my vice-captain, Ludd Francis.”

”Welcome, Team Alpha!”

The agents all echoed their welcome once again, and the superhumans that had come with Jason smiled and waved to thank them. At the front of those superhumans was Ludd Francis, the boy who had first asked to join the Monarch Guild, and he had a look of complete shock on his face as he looked up at Jason! He knew that Jason had promised to make him a vice-captain after the Battle of Radagan, but he didn’t think that Jason would actually do it! This was a privilege that was usually reserved for people who were closer to the guild leader and had been in the guild for a long time! Jason just smiled and gave the boy a nod of confidence, and this was enough to make Francis straighten up, and he gave Jason a bow.

”I’ll do my best, Captain!”

”I’m sure you won’t let me down. Juliet...”

Jason turned to Juliet expectantly, and Juliet immediately understood that Jason wanted her to take over, so she stepped forward and gave the agents orders to go and help the superhumans settle down and show them to the bathrooms so they could freshen up. The superhumans were led away by a few agents, and the other agents all left to continue their work. Some of them were still looking at Jason with awe on their faces, but none of them stopped to gawk, and Jason was grateful for that. Jason ordered the Legion subordinates that had come with the superhumans to follow them, and Gina waved goodbye to the Falcon that she had been playing with as it went after the superhumans.

”Are you going to leave the subordinates with the superhumans?”

Gina asked this question, and Jason nodded to her and said that he wanted each superhuman in the guild to have their own partner. Jason knew that the superhumans were going to be entering into a lot of Gates soon, and Jason was not going to be available to be there with them since he was so busy, so the best way Jason could think of to protect them and make sure they grew as quickly as possible was to give each of them their own partners from his subordinates. Jason decided to give each Team Alpha member two Rook Rank I subordinates as well as one Pawn Rank III subordinate. The subordinates were given instructions to make sure that the superhumans didn’t die inside any Gate, so they were going to help the superhumans when the opponents outnumbered them or if the opponent was too strong for them to handle. And if there was ever an opponent that was just too powerful for both the superhuman and the subordinate, then the subordinate would be able to drag the superhuman into the shadows and escape from there so they could regroup and make new plans.

”...Besides, if any of them runs into something interesting in a Gate, like another interworld traveler, I want to be able to come take a look, so I’ll just switch places with one of the Rooks I gave them.”

Gina put her hands behind her back and smiled up at Jason in wonder! That was an amazing idea! Gina knew how Jason’s powers worked better than anyone else in the world, so she knew that this would not only ensure the superhumans were protected, but it would also give Jason more chances to gain power! As the subordinates killed other monsters in the Gate, Jason would grow even stronger!

’You’re amazing.’

Gina said this to Jason through their mental link, and the sheer awe and love in her voice was almost enough to make Jason embarrassed! Gina made it sound like Jason had just discovered the cure to cancer or something, and Jason could only chuckle slightly. Gina reached up for a kiss, and Jason smiled as he leaned down to meet her. Many of the agents in the room turned to the couple once they saw them kissing, and the agents all felt the almost irresistible desire to pull out their phones and take a picture! But they knew that doing something like that would immediately cost them their jobs, so they forced that desire down with all the effort they could!
