The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne

Three days passed peacefully. Nothing happened at the mansion where Nolan, Elina, and Rafine were staying.

Novaria’s appearance three days earlier had absolutely no impact.

It was as if she had been nothing more than a passing breeze.

During those three days, Elina and Rafine stayed busy. They received countless letters from nobles expressing their support for their faction.

Elina was, of course, very pleased. However, she also remained vigilant.

There was a chance that some of the people approaching her were spies sent by the other candidates for the throne to keep an eye on her.

That was why she didn’t dare act recklessly. Instead, she always discussed everything with Rafine and Nolan before making any decisions.

”Count Bellrawn? Do you know them, Rafine?” Elina asked as she read the letter in front of her.

”Count Bellrawn? Of course I know them.” Rafine nodded before explaining, ”They’re a well-known family from the western region. Their businesses include mining and several inns, particularly in the city of Ardan, where they hold considerable influence.”

She looked at Elina curiously. ”Why do you ask? Is the Bellrawn family thinking of joining your faction?”

Elina nodded, folding the letter before setting it on the desk.

”They don’t just want to join us. They also want to work with our lumber mill. They own several furniture stores across the major cities in the western region, and their family head, Count Alfar Bellrawn, is interested in our mill’s products,” Elina explained.

”Oh? That’s excellent news. But...” Rafine’s brows furrowed slightly. ”We need to inform Blue Moon and White Lotus first. After all, all of our sales go through them. I don’t want us to break our agreement just for the sake of making more profit.”

Elina nodded in agreement.

”You’re right. I’ll contact Miss Shion later. Hopefully they’ll agree. If they do, our profits will increase even more.”

Rafine gave a small smile.

Nolan, who had been listening to their conversation, remained silent. He had no intention of joining in or interfering. He would leave it to the two of them.

Consider it a trial by fire so they could become more independent and stronger.

”By the way, Nolan. Are you going to the capital anytime soon?” Rafine asked.

Nolan picked up an almond and popped it into his mouth.

”No, I’m not. Why?”

”I need to send a report to Blue Moon headquarters about this. If you’re going, I’d like you to deliver it for me.”

Nolan rolled his eyes. ”Why make it so complicated? Elina, doesn’t one of the Singularity of Chaos’s subordinates work for you? Why not just have her deliver it?”

”Huh? Can you really do that?” Rafine asked, surprised.

Nolan just smiled and gave Elina a meaningful look.

Elina hesitated, but it was worth a try.

”How do we summon her?” she asked.

”Easy.” Nolan snapped his fingers. ”Hey, come out. We need you for something.”

Rafine: ”...”

Elina: ”...”

Both of them were speechless, not expecting Nolan’s method of summoning to be so simple.

Before they could recover from their surprise, however, a beam of light appeared in the middle of the room.

A beautiful woman with long black hair stepped out of the light. She wore a form-fitting purple dress that highlighted her graceful figure.

The mole beneath her eye made her look even more captivating.

She was none other than Obsidia, Nolan’s weapon spirit.

The moment she saw Nolan, Obsidia was about to bow, but stopped when she noticed Elina and Rafine were also there.

She cleared her throat softly and asked in a cold voice, ”Why did you summon me?”

Her gaze briefly flickered toward Elina.

Elina swallowed hard. She remembered that the subordinate of the Singularity of Chaos assigned to protect her wasn’t this woman, but the one with white hair and blue eyes.

Still, she decided not to dwell on it and got straight to the point.

”I’d like to ask for your help.”

She picked up the request document she had prepared earlier and handed it to Obsidia.

”Could you deliver this to Blue Moon headquarters?”

Obsidia walked over and accepted the document. The moment she read the title, she fell silent.

”You summoned me just to deliver this?”

Sensing the irritation in her voice, Elina hurriedly explained, ”I’m sorry, but this document is important. If you can’t do it, that’s okay.”

Obsidia was about to respond, but suddenly, she felt Nolan’s piercing gaze from behind.

”Ahem.” Obsidia cleared her throat before putting on a helpless expression. ”All right, I understand. I’ll deliver it.”

Without another word, she turned around and disappeared.

Elina and Rafine let out sighs of relief.

”Since that’s settled, I’m heading out. I won’t be back for dinner, so you two can eat without me.”

Nolan stood up and started walking away.

But Elina quickly stopped him.

”Wait, Brother. There’s something I want to talk to you about.”

Nolan stopped in his tracks. He turned around and looked at Elina calmly.

”What is it?”

”Well...” Elina bit her lower lip, a hint of hesitation showing on her face. ”I want to talk about Novaria.”

Nolan raised an eyebrow slightly but waited patiently for her to continue.

”I heard from the Shadow Guard that she’s still in this town. And she’s struggling. Should we help her?” Elina asked cautiously.

Nolan remained calm, as if the question didn’t interest him.

”I won’t get involved. But…”

A faint smile appeared on his face.

”My advice is to leave her alone. She’s the one who needs us, not the other way around. Remember that.”

Elina nodded weakly.

”I remember.”

”Good.” Nolan smiled in satisfaction. ”The queen has spoiled her far too much. Let her go through some hardships so she can learn how cruel this world really is. Her mother has sheltered her for far too long, and this is the perfect opportunity for her to learn that lesson. But if you want to help her, I won’t stop you.”

After saying that, he turned and walked away.

Elina thought about his words before deciding to follow his advice.

Let Novaria endure these hardships a little longer. She hoped the woman would change soon.

…

The town of Virella had changed dramatically since Elina took over. Once an undesirable town and the poorest area in the eastern region, it had become one of the fastest-growing towns in the kingdom.

Merchants from across the eastern region—and even from the other three major regions—flocked there to do business.

With Virella’s rapid development, the town’s purchasing power and overall standard of living naturally improved.

Jobs were plentiful, and there were no longer any poor people—except those too lazy to work.

At that moment, in a narrow alley on the southern side of town, a woman sat with a pale expression.

She was incredibly beautiful, but she looked like a complete mess.

She was none other than Novaria, the second princess of the Great Velmora Empire.

As she watched children laughing and people walking by with food in their hands, an unfamiliar feeling of envy crept into her heart.

”Ugh...” she muttered through gritted teeth. ”Nolan... Elina... I hate you both so much!”
