The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne

Seria was taken aback by his words. She furrowed her brow and asked, ”What do you mean? The Incarnation of the Goddess of Life? What are you talking about?”

But Nolan remained calm. His sharp, cold gaze never left her.

”Incarnation of the Goddess of Life, are you still going to keep hiding? Very well. Then I’ll have to use a more forceful approach.”

His right hand suddenly erupted with surging black flames—the hottest fire in the world, the fire of hell.

Just as he was about to attack, Seria suddenly grabbed his wrist, stopping him in place.

The confusion on her face vanished in an instant, replaced by an indifferent, icy stare.

”Since when did you figure it out?”

Her green eyes slowly turned sky blue.

Nolan gave a faint smile.

”Ever since you used a girl named Melina as bait to lure me in.”

Seria—no, the Incarnation of the Goddess of Life—narrowed her eyes. She let go of Nolan’s wrist and sneered.

”You’re far more perceptive than I expected. I underestimated you.”

Nolan chuckled softly as he rubbed the wrist she had just grabbed.

It still hurt a little.

”All right, let’s get straight to the point,” Nolan said casually. ”Why have you been avoiding me? Are you afraid to face me? Or don’t tell me...”

A cold glint flashed across his eyes.

”You don’t want to tell me why I was reincarnated into this world?”

The Incarnation of the Goddess of Life fell silent for a moment before shaking her head.

”You’re overthinking it. I avoided meeting you because I didn’t want to get involved in the cause and effect surrounding you. It’s far too enormous—so great that even I, a goddess, could be destroyed.”

Nolan was taken aback by her words.

”Cause and effect? What do you mean?”

”Simply put, your arrival in this world was predestined—including the accident that happened to you. It was all orchestrated by the Supreme Goddess of Heaven. As for the reason, I can’t tell you. I’m only carrying out that woman’s will.”

Nolan fell silent. Until now, he had believed the accident that brought him to this world was nothing more than a coincidence.

But it wasn’t.

There had been divine intervention behind it all.

”The Supreme Goddess…” Nolan muttered. ”Who is that woman? And why is she doing all this?”

He rubbed his temples. Everything was slipping further and further out of his control.

No... ever since he had gained the power of the Singularity of Chaos, he’d realized the carefree life he wanted was never going to happen.

Even so, the gods’ involvement had completely shattered what little hope he still had of living in peace.

”Damn it...” he growled. ”What exactly do they want from me? Especially the Supreme Goddess. Have I ever done anything to her?”

No matter how hard he thought, he couldn’t come up with a single reasonable answer.

Nolan slowly regained his composure and looked up at the Incarnation of the Goddess of Life.

”I understand. Then do you have any advice for me? You’re the one who brought me here, so the least you can do is give me some guidance,” Nolan said.

The Incarnation of the Goddess of Life fell silent. Nolan really had no shame, using morality to pressure her.

But she didn’t seem to mind.

”I don’t have any advice to give. But...”

Her expression turned serious.

”The power of the gods—the powers wielded by those known as Singularities—is a debt. One day, the gods will reclaim it. However...”

A faint smile appeared on her face.

”Not yours. That power belongs to you.”

”My own power?” Nolan’s eyes widened. ”What do you mean?”

The Incarnation of the Goddess of Life shook her head.

”I can’t explain it. All I can say is that the power you possess is truly your own. By the way, I’m sure you’ve met them before, haven’t you? People who possess powers similar to the Singularities?”

Nolan stiffened. Of course he knew.

The Seven Orders—seven individuals who possessed powers similar to the seven Singularities.

”Yes, I have. And I’ve killed one of them.”

When chaos broke out in Hinode, the one responsible was the Order of Life. Nolan had killed him without leaving even a speck of ash behind.

”You killed him?”

The Incarnation of the Goddess of Life looked genuinely surprised.

”That’s right. And that man’s power was similar to Seria’s. He could be reborn over and over again.”

Unfortunately for him, his opponent was Nolan—a being who wielded absolute destruction. No matter how powerful his regenerative abilities were, once every atom in his body was erased, there was nothing left to regenerate.

”I see...” The Incarnation of the Goddess of Life nodded slowly, seemingly impressed. ”That was the right decision. But you need to be careful. Their leader won’t let this slide.”

”I know,” Nolan replied casually. ”So, what do they have to do with me? And do you know where their powers come from?”

The Incarnation of the Goddess of Life was silent for a moment before answering.

”They are imitators.”

”Imitators?” Nolan repeated in surprise.

”That’s right. The powers they wield are nothing more than imitations. They are pawns of the gods who oppose the Supreme Goddess. They have only one goal—to destroy the Singularities, especially you, Nolan Lorian.”

Nolan’s expression turned grim. He hadn’t expected the Seven Orders to be pawns of the gods opposing the Supreme Goddess.

Even so, it wasn’t entirely surprising. He had already suspected their purpose was to eliminate the Seven Singularities. After all, he had clashed with the Order of Chaos in the eastern region a year ago.

”Anyway, be careful. There are countless threats surrounding you. If you let your guard down, you’ll die.”

She turned to leave, but Nolan suddenly grabbed her wrist.

”Wait! You’re just going to leave like that?”

The Incarnation of the Goddess of Life furrowed her brow.

”Yes. My time is up. If I stay any longer, the other gods will become suspicious.”

Nolan cleared his throat and flashed a faint smirk.

”Goddess of Life, you owe me. Regardless of whether the accident that brought me here was caused by the other gods, you’re still partly responsible, aren’t you?”

He rubbed his hands together with an eager grin.

”So, shouldn’t you make up for me?”

The Incarnation of the Goddess of Life: ”...”

The corner of her mouth twitched, and her fists clenched.

She had the sudden urge to punch Nolan.

But in the end, she could only let out a long sigh to vent her frustration.

She opened her right palm, and a green orb of light appeared above it.

Then, she threw it into Nolan’s chest.

Whoosh!

The orb of light sank into his body and disappeared.

”I’ve implanted the Orb of Consciousness within you. If you’re ever on the brink of death, I can appear and help you. Even if you do die, I can bring you back to life once. Though I doubt you’ll ever need it, considering it’s practically impossible for you to die. Still, this is all I can give you.”

Nolan smiled and cupped his hands in thanks.

”Thank you for the gift.”

A faint smile appeared on the Incarnation of the Goddess of Life’s face. At least Nolan still had the manners to thank her after receiving her gift, and that was enough to satisfy her.

The next moment, the Incarnation of the Goddess of Life slowly faded from Seria’s body.

”Ugh...”

Seria regained consciousness. She looked dazed, as if she had just woken from a deep sleep.

”What happened?” she muttered in confusion before her gaze landed on Nolan, who was sitting in front of her.

”Singularity of Chaos? What happened to me?”

Nolan smiled and shook his head.

”Nothing. By the way, I should head back to my room.”

Without waiting for her response, he disappeared from sight.
