The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne

”You are indeed strong, but I am far stronger. That is an undeniable fact.”

Those words were like a knife piercing Nathan’s chest. His confidence and pride felt as though they had been torn to shreds.

”Arrogant!” he growled.

Boom!

A black aura erupted from his body and shot into the sky.

The atmosphere instantly turned tense. Even the spectators in the stands could feel it.

”Oh? So he’s finally getting serious?”

Hector’s eyes sparkled.

”Hahaha! I knew it! Young Master Nathan wouldn’t just lose like that! Come on, defeat her, Young Master Nathan!”

A Viscount family head from Cedric’s camp shouted in support.

”Come on, attack!”

”We’re confident in your victory!”

Voices of support echoed throughout the arena once more.

Evalyn’s supporters certainly weren’t about to be outdone.

Under Luke’s leadership, along with the core members of the Lionheart family, they also began cheering for Evalyn.

In an instant, the arena was filled with shouts from both sides.

Nolan took a sip of his coffee and chuckled.

”For some reason, it feels like I’m watching the World Cup,” he muttered.

But he didn’t mind. An exciting match was one that made the fans scream their lungs out—exactly what was happening right now.

On the battlefield, Evalyn remained unfazed by Nathan’s transformation.

She calmly raised her sword to her side and dashed forward.

In the blink of an eye, she appeared right in front of him and brought her sword down in a vertical slash.

Nathan had been ready for the attack and immediately parried it.

Clang!

The two swords clashed.

Evalyn refused to let up.

She bent her knees, leaped into the air, twisted her body, and swung her sword at Nathan’s blind spot.

Nathan quickly jumped back and narrowly avoided the attack. A moment later, he felt something warm running down his neck.

He reached up and touched it. When he looked at his hand, he saw blood on his palm.

”Blood? How is that possible?”

But he barely had time to process it. Evalyn was already charging at him again.

Nathan had no choice but to raise his sword and block the relentless stream of attacks.

Just moments ago, he had unleashed his aura, boosting his strength by twenty percent.

Yet strangely, he still couldn’t keep up with Evalyn at all.

”How is this possible? How have you become so strong?!” he shouted angrily.

Boom!

His aura erupted once again, forcing Evalyn back a few steps. But she quickly regained her balance.

When she looked up, Nathan was already rushing straight at her.

Clang!

Clang!

Attack after attack rained down from Nathan, but Evalyn blocked each one with ease.

”Hero’s Technique: End of All Light!”

Buzz!

The Eclipse Dark Sword suddenly shone with a blinding light. Evalyn immediately closed her eyes.

The next second, the light around them faded away. Even the sun in the sky seemed to disappear.

Panic spread through the stands.

”What’s happening? Why has everything gone dark?” a man shouted.

But no one knew the reason except those seated in the front row.

”Woah! What an incredible technique,” Nolan praised in awe. ”It can nullify all the light within its domain. I didn’t expect Nathan to have mastered a technique like that.”

”End of All Light” was a special technique possessed by the Dark Hero, Lucas.

In truth, Nolan knew nothing about this technique. Evalyn had only told him about it yesterday after learning of it from the Hero of Light.

”End of All Light” created a special domain that trapped its target. Anyone caught within it would be plunged into complete darkness.

Of course, this wasn’t true blindness. The Dark Sword of Eclipse simply absorbed all the light within the domain created by its user.

As a result, anyone trapped inside would struggle to see. The outcome was obvious—a crushing defeat.

”Hmmm…” Nolan rubbed his chin as his purple eyes gradually transformed into the Eyes of Chaos. ”I want to see how Evalyn deals with this.”

In the middle of the arena, Evalyn lost her sight. Everything around her was dark and silent.

The hero’s technique, ”End of All Light,” not only deprived its target of sight but also of hearing.

It could be said that she was now at a complete disadvantage.

Even so, Evalyn showed no fear. She took a deep breath and recalled her ancestor’s teachings.

”The most terrifying technique of the Dark Hero?”

Evalyn was surprised.

”That’s right.” Rei nodded and stepped closer. ”In my opinion, Lucas’s most terrifying hero technique is End of All Light.”

”End of All Light?” Evalyn furrowed her brow. ”Please enlighten me, Ancestor.”

”End of All Light is a deadly hero technique that not only robs its target of sight but also deprives them of their sense of hearing and smell,” Rei explained calmly. ”Once Lucas uses that technique, no enemy can escape from him. He controls the entire battlefield, and only one thing awaits his enemies—death.”

Evalyn swallowed hard. She hadn’t expected Lucas to possess such a terrifying ability. She had underestimated him far too much.

”Then how do we counter that technique?” she asked.

”Easy.” Rei smiled and held out his hand. He touched the area above her eyes, then her nose and ears.

”All of these are senses. End of All Light seals them completely. But…”

Rei raised his index finger.

”There is one thing that technique cannot seal. Do you know what it is?”

Evalyn frowned in confusion. She thought for a few seconds before a possibility came to mind.

”Instinct?”

”Correct! Instinct.” Rei smiled in satisfaction. ”Humans naturally possess instinct. However, as civilization advances, that instinct gradually fades. That is why today, I will teach you how to rely on your instinct when facing the hero technique End of All Light.”

***

”Huff…”

Evalyn let out a deep breath and muttered, ”Instinct... That’s what I have to rely on.”

She closed her eyes. The loss of her senses of smell and hearing made her feel as though she were trapped inside a dark, silent prison. Nothing remained but an oppressive silence.

Yet at the same time, it helped her focus even more.

Evalyn raised her sword in front of her and assumed a fighting stance.

In the distance, Nathan smiled faintly. Although everything was shrouded in darkness, he could still see Evalyn’s silhouette.

”Today, I’m going to defeat you and humiliate you in front of everyone, Evalyn!”

Buzz!

The Dark Sword of Eclipse emitted a faint black glow.

With lightning-fast speed, Nathan appeared right behind her.

”Let’s end this here!”

As his sword slashed toward Evalyn’s back, she suddenly spun around and parried the attack.

Clang!

”What!?” Nathan’s eyes widened in shock. ”You can still block it? How is that possible!?”

Disbelief filled his heart. Gritting his teeth, he launched another attack, then another.

Clang!

Clang!

Evalyn effortlessly parried every strike. It was as if the End of All Light technique had no effect on her at all.

”Impossible! This is impossible!”

Frustration surged within Nathan. Unknowingly, his attacks became increasingly reckless and erratic.

Suddenly, Evalyn spun and drove her foot into his chest.

”Argh!”

Nathan was sent flying backward before crashing onto the ground and rolling several times.

A sharp pain shot through his chest. It felt as though several of his ribs had been broken by Evalyn’s powerful kick.

At last, the End of All Light technique began to fade.

Everyone regained their sight, and the moment they saw the scene before them, they were stunned.

Nathan... had been defeated.

Author’s Note: Over the past few days, I’ve been feeling a bit burned out. For some reason, I feel like my writing skills have slipped a bit. Maybe it’s because I’ve been in my comfort zone for too long? It seems that way.

So, I’ve decided to write another book. The title is ”Elf System: Rise of the Elf Monarch.”

It’s not for commercial purposes, but to hone my ideas and skills so I can improve. If it’s okay, could you help me review it? Just for reference. Thank you!

Oh, right. It might be a bit late, but I’m going to set up a Discord group. Tomorrow night, I’ll share the link on my profile. If you want to join, feel free! Thanks again!
