The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne

”Your Majesty!”

Yuria flew after Zerathos, trying to chase him down, but she failed.

Nolan had already taken him to a place she couldn’t sense.

”Damn it!” Yuria gritted her teeth and cursed angrily. ”Bastard! Who is that guy? How dare he attack the Demon Emperor!?”

She had never expected someone to be bold enough to attack the imperial palace and openly provoke the demon race.

If only she hadn’t reacted too slowly, Demon Emperor Zerathos wouldn’t have been taken away so easily.

After a moment, she slowly calmed herself down. The Demon Emperor was incredibly powerful—there was no way he could lose to a mere human.

She then turned to the soldiers below and said coldly, ”Carry out my orders—secure the borders. No one gets in. If anyone breaks this order, report it to me immediately. Understood?”

”Yes, Prime Minister Yuria!” the captain and soldiers replied in unison.

…

”Evalyn, are you in there?” Roseline called from outside.

Evalyn, who had been resting with her eyes closed, slowly opened them. She turned toward the tent curtain and replied, ”I’m here, Ancestor. What is it?”

”May I come in?”

”Of course.”

The curtain opened, and Roseline, wearing a nightgown, stepped inside.

She gave a small smile. ”Sorry for waking you.”

Evalyn slowly sat up and waved a hand lightly.

”It’s fine,” she said casually. ”What do you need?”

Roseline nodded and sat on the wooden chair beside the bed.

”Rei, Lucas, and I have been talking about the attackers at the Demon Emperor’s fortress,” she said honestly. ”And…”

She hesitated for a moment before continuing, her voice turning heavier. ”We’ve decided to launch an attack within the next two days.”

Evalyn’s eyes widened slightly. ”That soon?”

”That’s right.” Roseline let out a long sigh. ”At first, I wanted to postpone the attack until a month later. But we don’t have any more time. According to the spy Lucas captured in the southern region, the Demon Emperor is planning to attack the central continent. If that happens, the human alliance will be destroyed, and he’ll emerge victorious in this war. That’s why Lucas insisted we carry out the attack plan as soon as possible.”

Evalyn fell silent. She hadn’t expected the butterfly effect to become this massive.

She felt guilty, like she was the one who had thrown this era’s timeline into chaos.

Roseline noticed her expression shift and asked without thinking, ”What’s wrong? Is something bothering you?”

She reached out and gently patted Evalyn’s head.

Even though they were close in age, Roseline already regarded Evalyn as her future descendant—and in truth, that was exactly what she was.

Evalyn hesitated for a moment, unsure if she should say anything.

After thinking it over for a while, she took a deep breath and said, ”Ancestor… forgive me.”

Roseline blinked in surprise. ”What is it?”

Evalyn bit her lower lip before explaining, ”It’s because of my arrival… and Nolan’s as well. According to historical records, this attack wasn’t supposed to happen until several years later. The changes that have occurred are most likely because of me.”

Roseline was stunned once again. The attack was supposed to happen several years later?

She fell silent for a moment, quietly digesting Evalyn’s words before finally understanding.

Her expression softened as she let out a quiet chuckle. ”What are you saying? None of this has anything to do with you or Nolan. So don’t blame yourself for it.”

”But…” Evalyn was about to speak, but Roseline interrupted her first.

”Before you and Nolan arrived, the southern region had already been attacked by the demon race. And Lucas bringing that news here was something that couldn’t be avoided. So none of this has anything to do with you,” she explained calmly.

Roseline never once believed that everything happened because of Evalyn. In her opinion, that simply made no sense.

Historical records might say the attack would happen years later, but Evalyn didn’t realize one thing—history could easily be changed by the people who wrote it.

Of course, that was just speculation. What mattered most right now was that the attack was going to happen within the next two days.

Evalyn thought about it and found it made sense. She had arrived shortly after the southern region was attacked by the demonic forces.

And neither she nor Nolan had done anything major enough to shift history.

Everything that had happened so far was simply beyond their control.

With that thought, she finally felt a bit relieved and smiled again.

”You’re right, Ancestor. Thanks for the advice.”

”You’re welcome,” Roseline said with a smile and a nod.

Then she shifted the topic. ”By the way, there’s something else I need to talk to you about. It’s about the upcoming attack.”

”Please, go ahead.”

Roseline took a breath and finally said, ”Actually… Rei and I are planning to take you with us on the attack.”

”Huh?” Evalyn froze. ”Take me with you?”

”That’s right,” Roseline said with a nod. ”Right now, humanity is short on strong fighters. A lot of them already fell in earlier battles.”

Her expression darkened a little, weighed down by sorrow.

Those who had died were heroes—people who would be remembered for a long time.

But their loss had also seriously weakened the human forces, and that was a big problem for the upcoming attack.

”Is… is that okay?” Evalyn asked nervously. ”I mean, you and the Hero of Light agreed not to reveal my identity, right? What if people find out I’m from the future?”

Roseline gave her a reassuring smile. ”Don’t worry. Rei and I already agreed on a cover identity for you. You’ll be introduced as an unnamed female warrior from the Central Continent. That’ll be your new identity. What do you think?”

Her eyes held a hint of excitement, like she was hoping for agreement. Bringing Evalyn into the strike force would be a huge help.

Feeling that expectant gaze, Evalyn sighed slightly and nodded.

”Alright… I get it. I’ll do it.”

As it happened, she still had doubts about the true reason she had been brought to this era.

She had already learned her ancestor’s fighting style, and logically, she and Nolan should have returned to their era by now.

But that wasn’t the case. Even now, the two of them were still trapped in this era.

That could only mean one thing: the reason she had come here wasn’t merely to inherit her ancestor’s legacy but also to fulfill another purpose.

And as for what that purpose was… Evalyn herself had no idea. Perhaps it had something to do with the Demon Emperor.

”Great!” Roseline laughed happily and clasped Evalyn’s hand tightly. ”Thank you, Evalyn!”

Seeing her happiness, Evalyn smiled and nodded.

”By the way…” Roseline suddenly grinned mischievously. ”Nolan still hasn’t come back since he left last time. Do you miss him?”

Evalyn’s face instantly flushed red, and she quickly averted her gaze.

”W-What are you saying, Ancestor? There’s no way I miss him.”

Roseline chuckled softly before standing up and sitting beside her.

Poking Evalyn’s cheek with her index finger, she teased, ”I know you like him. It’s obvious from the way you act. How about this? I’ll help you win him over. What do you think?”

Evalyn was startled and quickly turned toward her, only to meet Roseline’s teasing gaze.

She swallowed nervously before asking, ”Are you serious?”

”Of course.” Roseline patted her chest proudly and said, ”Ahem! Listen carefully. This is something you definitely won’t learn in the future, you know?”

Evalyn nodded enthusiastically.

Satisfied with her reaction, Roseline began to explain, ”So, the way to win a man’s heart is…”

And so, the ancestor and her descendant began discussing matters of the heart together.
