The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne

”All I want is your cloak. Give it to me, and I’ll cooperate with the Kingdom of Kaldarion. How about it?”

Hearing this, Jisha froze. She stared at her cloak and asked in confusion, ”My cloak? What for?”

A sudden thought crossed her mind, and her breathing grew unsteady.

”Don’t tell me you want to keep it and use it for... for...”

Her face flushed as she pointed at Nolan with a trembling finger.

Leina, Sharon, Cassiopeia, and Draco were equally stunned. They looked at Nolan in disbelief, as if unable to accept what they had just imagined.

The corner of Nolan’s mouth twitched when he noticed their reactions.

However, he remained calm and explained, ”Don’t misunderstand, silly girl. I want to give the cloak to my sister. It’s well made and can protect its wearer. Hand it over, and in return, I’ll listen to Leina’s negotiations. Think carefully before you decide.”

Jisha let out a breath of relief and looked down at her cloak with reluctance.

The cloak had been specially made by her master, so parting with it was not easy.

Still, it couldn’t be compared to the fate of the Kingdom of Kaldarion.

In the end, she nodded unwillingly and replied softly, ”Alright. I’ll give it to you.”

After that, she removed the cloak, folded it neatly, and handed it to Nolan.

Nolan stepped forward and took it, but Jisha didn’t let go.

He applied a little more force, yet her grip only tightened.

An idea flashed through his mind, and Nolan quickly tickled the underside of her hand.

”Hahaha! It tickles!” Jisha giggled and unconsciously loosened her grip on the cloak.

Seizing the chance, Nolan took it, a satisfied smile on his face.

Jisha puffed out her cheeks in frustration, but in the end, she could only let out a reluctant sigh.

Nolan tossed the cloak to Sharon and said, ”Take it, Sister. This cloak will be very useful to you.”

Sharon caught it and stared at the cloak with curiosity.

”This cloak...”

Before she could finish, Cassiopeia murmured in astonishment.

”This is a dragon scale cloak!”

”A dragon scale cloak?” Sharon was stunned. ”Cassiopeia, are you sure? A dragon scale cloak—isn’t that a legendary item that only exists in stories?”

”I’m sure, Princess. This is definitely a dragon scale cloak,” Cassiopeia replied firmly.

She gently examined the cloak and continued, ”The color, texture, and material—everything matches the characteristics of the famous dragon scale cloak. I’ve seen one before, so I’m certain. I never expected that the cloak Jisha wore was a dragon scale cloak. But how did the prince know?”

She looked at Nolan’s back in disbelief. Time and time again, Nolan surprised her, and it never grew dull.

Sharon fell silent for a moment, then glanced at her brother with a gentle gaze.

’He’s really generous,’ she whispered.

With this dragon scale cloak, it was as if she had gained a second life. And judging from Jisha’s reaction, it seemed she herself had never realized its true value.

”Alright, let’s begin the negotiations. But remember—I will only agree if your offer is attractive. If not, I’m sorry; my sister and I will return tomorrow,” Nolan said indifferently as he leaned back in his chair.

Leina’s expression darkened, but she quickly regained her composure and took a deep breath.

”Prince, I’ll get straight to the point. The Kingdom of Kaldarion is prepared to relinquish Sevarn Port and fulfill your earlier request to split the revenue fifty-fifty. In addition, we will cover all maintenance, repair, and related costs, while your side will not have to pay any royalties. Each year, we will also be granted one month of full control. What do you think?”

Leina bit her lower lip and looked at Nolan with hope in her eyes.

Come to think of it, the agreement wasn’t too bad. At the very least, they would still receive fifty percent of Sevarn Port’s revenue instead of nothing at all.

On top of that, they would gain one full month of income each year, which was clearly very profitable.

Unfortunately, at the time, His Majesty Glarvic was too quick to anger.

Provoked by news of the Netherium mine in the southeast, he unilaterally severed ties with the Great Velmora Empire.

Jisha, seated beside Leina, also looked at Nolan with mixed feelings of fear and hope.

If Nolan accepted, her master’s whereabouts could be discovered immediately.

However, Nolan merely chuckled, took a sip of his tea, and shook his head.

”I refuse.”

His answer struck Jisha and Leina like a hammer to the head.

Before they could ask him why, Nolan continued in a dismissive tone, ”What I offered earlier is no longer valid, especially after what you and your king did to us. Do you think something like that can be forgiven so easily?”

He leaned back in his chair and fixed Leina with a cold stare.

”And remember—I made that offer to give you and your king some face. But how did you respond? You drove us out of the palace with contempt, as if you had already won everything. Because of that, I’m no longer interested in the old terms. What I will present now is a new offer.”

Leina gasped, feeling both shame and anger. Even so, she knew she was in a weak position and could only nod stiffly.

”Fine. State your terms.”

Nolan did not answer immediately. He remained silent for a few seconds, deliberately letting the tension build.

Then, in a casual tone, he said, ”I want full control of Sevarn Port and Nalvos Port. All profits will belong to us, while all maintenance and repair costs will be borne entirely by you. What do you think of my offer?”

Leina was stunned. She had never expected Nolan to be this shameless.

Giving up Sevarn Port alone had already cost them dearly, let alone Nalvos Port as well.

It was tantamount to a slow death.

Leina’s face darkened as she said angrily, ”Prince, are you joking?”

”Joking? Do I look like I’m joking?”

Nolan pointed at his own face, as if telling her to find even a trace of a smile there.

Leina choked and fell silent, but Nolan did not let her off that easily.

”You must understand that your position right now is extremely unfavorable. Two enemy kingdoms have already broken through your border defenses, correct? And that’s not even counting the white dragon, which could arrive at any moment.”

The implied threat in his tone pushed Leina further into a corner.

”If this continues, the Kingdom of Kaldarion will be destroyed—no, let me rephrase. It will face overwhelming difficulties. And when that happens, do you think Sevarn Port and Nalvos Port will still be operational? Think carefully, Prime Minister Leina. You’re a smart person; it’s impossible for you not to understand. But if you truly don’t, then I can’t help but wonder whether King Glarvic made a mistake in appointing you as prime minister.”

The blatant mockery and insults finally pushed Leina past her limit.

A powerful pressure burst from her body and slammed toward Nolan.

Cassiopeia and Draco were startled and were about to act, but suddenly Leina’s body stiffened, and the pressure she was releasing vanished in an instant.

Her vision went dark. A giant hand appeared before her eyes and crushed her into nothingness.

When she regained consciousness, she found everyone staring at her with strange expressions.

”Prime Minister Leina, what happened to you?” Jisha asked hesitantly.

Leina wanted to say something, but the words stuck in her throat.

”I... I’m fine,” she replied weakly, wiping the cold sweat from her forehead.

’Was that a hallucination?’ she muttered to herself.

Just then, Nolan’s voice snapped her out of her daze.

”Do you accept my conditions?”
