Invincibility Begins with a Super Fairy Manny

Chapter 2566: Chapter 2567: Past Events of That Year

This wound starts from the chin, slants upwards, and after piercing through the entire face, finally disappears at the position of the left temple.

The wound is so deep that not only can the bone be seen, but one can faintly see the pulsating pink membrane beneath at the temple.

For an ordinary person, after sustaining such a heavy injury, they would have likely died long ago.

Yet, on Du Jingsheng, apart from turning his once delicate face into something hideous and terrifying, it didn’t claim his life.

Shen Muyu even deduced from the two sides of the wound, where the flesh had already dried up, that this injury was not formed in a day or two, it surely had taken a long time.

No wonder the Family Head never shows his true face to others; it turns out this is the reason.

But who injured the Family Head?

These thoughts flashed through Shen Muyu’s mind and were swiftly cast aside.

Because now was not the time to think about these things.

Shen Muyu took a deep breath, tightly held Du Jingsheng’s body, and began to channel his own cultivation level over, hoping to stabilize Du Jingsheng’s injuries.

But right at that moment, Du Jingsheng shook his head, directly rejecting his energy transfer.

”Don’t bother, this wound is truly not something you can stabilize!”

Tears streamed from Shen Muyu’s eyes, for he could clearly feel the life within the Family Head, slipping away rapidly.

This helplessness, of being able to do nothing but watch, drove him crazy.

”What to do, what to do, what should the Family Head do now? Is there really no way?”

Seeing the tears on Shen Muyu’s face, hearing his choking murmurs, Du Jingsheng’s lips curled in a slight smile.

”Alright, don’t cry. You are the Family Head of the Shen Family now!” Du Jingsheng said softly.

But the more he said this, the sadder Shen Muyu became, ”No, in my eyes, you are the true Family Head of the Shen Family!”

”Silly child!” Du Jingsheng chuckled softly, his gaze gradually dimming, ”Actually... I am not the Shen Family’s Family Head at all!”

What?

Shen Muyu was stunned.

What does this mean?

At this time, Du Jingsheng suddenly began to cough violently, accompanied by the cough, the flesh around that wound on his face suddenly emitted a layer of black air and faintly spread out.

Shen Muyu was startled, instinctively reached out his hand wanting to touch the wound.

But Du Jingsheng suddenly sat up, averted his head, avoiding his hand.

Then Du Jingsheng said flatly, ”Do not touch this black air!”

”Family Head, just what is going on with this wound?” Shen Muyu trembled as he asked.

Du Jingsheng sighed lightly, ”There are many things I should have told you long ago, but at that time, you simply couldn’t bear these responsibilities, so I never mentioned them, but now it can no longer be avoided!”

Upon saying this, Du Jingsheng looked at Shen Muyu very seriously, and said slowly word for word, ”Actually, I am not of the Shen Family at all!”

Shen Muyu opened his mouth wide, listening incredulously.

Once, he had doubts too, wondering why, as the Family Head of the Shen Family, Du Jingsheng bore the surname Du rather than Shen?

But back then, he simply didn’t think much of it.

Until now, when Du Jingsheng stated he wasn’t from the Shen Family, Shen Muyu felt a roar in his head, as if something shattered inside.

Then Du Jingsheng continued softly, ”I think you must have also had suspicions, wondering why my surname is Du and not Shen, now I shall tell you!”

”I am indeed not of the Shen Family, my true identity was merely a little sword boy beside a Family Head of the Shen Family back then!”

Following Du Jingsheng’s recount, Shen Muyu finally understood what was going on.

It turned out that back then, evil entities rampaged through the Sky Beyond the Skies, and being the foremost Sword Cultivators, the Shen Family naturally bore the brunt of the impact.

But at that time, the Shen Family’s high-ranking members were filled with talent, remarkably repelling the attacks of the evil entities with very few numbers.

Yet in the process, the Shen Family’s high ranks realized the peculiarity of these evil entities.

They seemed to have extremely strong influence over those bearing the Shen Family’s bloodline, even a slight injury could quickly lead to downfall under the control of evil qi.

Under such circumstances, the Shen Family suffered heavy losses, even the Family Head was lost.

Because of this, the Shen Family urgently issued that renowned order of confinement.

But just closing doors wouldn’t solve the actual problem, therefore the Shen Family’s high ranks decisively abandoned their privileged status, collectively mobilized, and engaged in a desperate battle with the evil entities.

Talking about this, Du Jingsheng’s eyes glistened with tears.

”To prevent the weaknesses of the Shen Family from being exposed to The Multiverse, this battle occurred in secrecy, unknown to outsiders, yet the degree of ferocity exceeded anyone’s imagination.”

”Countless amazingly talented individuals often couldn’t hold on for even a quarter of an hour before falling. Even the position of Family Head changed several times in a day.”

”At that time, I was just an inconspicuous little sword boy, but due to serving the young lord, I went along to the battlefield. But very soon, the young lord I served died from sword heart explosion within half an hour of assuming the position of Family Head!”

Shen Muyu was astonished, for what Du Jingsheng was saying now were secrets he had never heard before.

”And the aftermath?”

”Afterwards...,” Du Jingsheng gave a bitter smile, ”later on, I was gravely injured in the fight against the evil entities, nearly dying.”

”But it was under these circumstances, the only remaining master of the Shen Family high ranks, also the final Family Head, exhausted himself to save me and personally bestowed upon me the long sword left by the Sword Ancestor!”

”He told me, now the Heavenly Dao is in chaos, evil entities are rampant, and the Shen Family is specially targeted, a little carelessness might lead to collective downfall, becoming a sharp sword in the hands of the evil entities!”

”To avoid this situation, I, without the Shen Family blood, became the best choice for the next Family Head. Even if the evil entities invaded, I could remain sober in the last moments!”

”Moreover, having the Sword Ancestor’s Longsword, I held the power of life and death over the Shen Family. If evil entities truly invaded the Shen Family, he instructed me to ensure the complete collapse of the Shen Family at the final moment!”

”At that time, the unnamed last Family Head explained clearly, the Shen Family would rather die than become the lackey of the evil entities!”

”After saying these words, he transferred all his remaining Sword Dao Cultivation to me, then resolutely went to meet his death!”

Upon finishing this, Du Jingsheng coughed a few more times out of agitation but forcibly suppressed it, gasping for breath as he spoke.

”At that time, the final Family Head rushed into the swarm of evil entities, as he was already heavily wounded and about to mutate, the evil entities naturally knew this. So, instead of attacking, they surrounded him, trying to wait for his downfall!”
