Invincibility Begins with a Super Fairy Manny

Chapter 2558: Chapter 2559: Confronting Face-to-Face

Everyone who saw Shen Muyu along the way appeared shocked, and then hurriedly stepped aside.

Shen Muyu walked silently, his face dark and somber.

It was only after he had walked far away that these people exchanged glances, their eyes full of confusion.

”What’s going on? Why has the second young master suddenly returned?”

”Yeah! Isn’t he supposed to be at the Bai Family assembly right now?”

”I’ve just heard that evil beings have stirred up trouble, several sects including the Nong Family have already fallen. Could the second young master’s return be related to this?”

”Nonsense, even if evil beings are causing trouble, what can they do? Could they dare to provoke our Shen Family?”

”In any case, it seems the second young master is quite displeased!”

While the crowd was deep in chatter, Shen Muyu already reached the Sword Tower’s gates, approaching the Council Hall.

The tall doors had been tightly shut, yet as Shen Muyu came near, they silently swung open.

Without hesitation, Shen Muyu stepped inside.

The doors closed loudly behind him, and a blanket of darkness fell over him.

The entire hall was unlit, except for the faint glow emanating from the dozen swords on the high platform, illuminating a figure seated at the Family Head’s position.

Shen Muyu halted, bowed, and saluted, ”Family Head!”

This call, echoing throughout the vast hall, felt remarkably hollow and desolate.

The figure remained still, until after a long silence, he finally let out a soft sigh.

”You’ve returned!”

”Yes!”

”Was the Sword Intent directed toward the Bing Family yours?”

”Yes!”

”Why did you do that?”

”Because we Shen Family erred in the past, and this time I don’t wish to repeat that mistake!”

With these words, the atmosphere in the hall instantly became tense.

In the darkness, the eyes of the figure seated became suddenly bright.

”Are you rebuking the Shen Family?”

But Shen Muyu remained unfazed and boldly said, ”I dare not, but a mistake is a mistake, and now I only wish to know the truth of the past!”

”The truth of the past... .”

Somehow, upon hearing this, the Family Head murmured the words once more, then sighed deeply.

”In truth, is there any truth at all? It’s merely some old tales! I understand what you wish to ask, but I can only tell you what I know!”

Shen Muyu nodded, then posed the first question.

”Why did the Shen Family stand alone during the turmoil that swept through the entire Sky Beyond the Skies?”

After speaking, Shen Muyu gazed intently at the Family Head on the high platform.

Upon hearing Shen Muyu’s question, the Shen Family Head smiled slightly.

”I know what you’re worried about. Are you afraid the Shen Family engaged in some secret deal with evil beings back then, thus stood alone during the chaos?”

Shen Muyu nodded.

This was indeed his most pressing concern, as it pertained to the foundations of his own cultivation.

Thus, he decided to leave immediately and return to the Shen Family for a face-off with the Family Head.

This wasn’t an exaggeration. Ever since Xue An revealed the matters from that year, this question had lingered like a thorn buried deep in Shen Muyu’s heart, causing his Sword Mind to be restless.

If the Shen Family indeed had dealings or agreements with evil beings, Shen Muyu’s dignity would be shattered instantly.

Everything he was proud of would be proven false, and there is nothing more cruel than this.

It’s akin to removing the foundation under the cauldron, directly destroying the basis of Shen Muyu’s cultivation.

Thus, his urgency was understandable.

The Shen Family Head naturally understood this, and therefore his voice grew stern.

”You can rest assured on this point. Though the Shen Family isn’t an ancient noble lineage, it has its own pride.”

”Since the founding of the Shen Family’s legacy by the Sword Ancestor, it’s been over ten thousand years. During this long time, the family has had its declines and triumphs, but none have ever acted against the Sword Mind.”

”So now I can tell you with confidence, during the chaos beyond the skies, the Shen Family had no dealings with evil beings!”

Upon hearing this, the weight on Shen Muyu’s heart finally eased, yet he couldn’t help but ask.

”Then why did the Shen Family not take action back then, instead standing alone, staying out of it?”

The Family Head chuckled bitterly, ”Do you truly believe the Shen Family stayed out of it back then?”

Shen Muyu was taken aback, showing a look of shock.

The Family Head continued, ”When the incident occurred, I was young, yet I sensed the change in the Shen Family’s atmosphere.”

”First, the Shen Family issued strict orders, prohibiting all disciples below the elder level from stepping outside, with violators expelled immediately.”

Shen Muyu listened quietly, his eyes flickering with thought.

”Back then, I too had doubts like you, wondering why the Shen Family made such a decision, especially since Sky Beyond the Skies was facing chaos, and we sword cultivators shut our doors and imposed strict orders—it just didn’t make sense!”

”Was this when Shen Jingshu left the Shen Family?” Shen Muyu asked with a bitter voice.

”Seems you know quite a lot indeed, yes, it was because of this incident that sister Jingshu felt disheartened with the Shen Family and left in anger!”

”Not until I became the Family Head did I understand what truly happened back then, and realized the immense injustice the Shen Family higher-ups were bearing!”

As he spoke, the dozen swords enshrined on the high platform suddenly floated up, radiating a fierce sword intent.

”Do you know what these are?”

”The ancestral swords of past Family Heads!”

”Correct! But don’t you find it curious why, with only three documented Family Heads including myself in the ten thousand years since the Shen Family’s founding, are there a dozen swords?”

Shen Muyu was greatly shocked, ”Could it be... .”

”Indeed, the other swords are those left by Family Heads who died in battle.”

Shen Muyu’s eyes widened, ”But... .”

”I know what you’re about to ask. Are you wondering why the deaths of the Family Heads have never been heard of, and why the Family Heads joined the battle while ordinary disciples were confined?”

Shen Muyu nodded again.

”The reason is simple: none of the Family Heads strictly died at the hands of the evil beings but were killed by the swords of our own people!”

Upon hearing this, Shen Muyu felt even more confused.

The Shen Family Head continued in a solemn tone, ”Those evil beings came prepared, especially targeting our Shen Family bloodline with specific enhancements, making it easy for Shen Family members to be parasitized by evil beings!”

Hearing this, it was as if Shen Muyu was struck by lightning, feeling cold all over, as he finally understood a terrifying truth.
