After signing with AC Milan, I will be the king of football!

Chapter 2206: Chapter 566: Kevin Plans to Form a New Serie A (Subscription Requested) (Part 3)

Damn, everyone only cares about losing, who remembers his contributions?

The journalists need to focus on how excellent his team’s performance was.

Cesare Maldini pulled the microphone closer to smooth things over, saying, ”Today, Inter Milan indeed gave us quite a bit of trouble. As for the referee, I didn’t feel any bias. The match went smoothly, and there were no conflicts between teams.”

”So why do you think Inter Milan was able to give you trouble?”

A journalist asked.

Old Maldini laughed and said, ”Inter Milan is a very strong team, bringing trouble is normal. They have many outstanding players, and today’s tactics were also very appropriate. I’ve always admired Javier Zanetti, and today his defense against Kevin was outstanding.”

”Are there any other Inter Milan players that left a strong impression on you?”

The journalist pursued.

Old Maldini said, ”Sneijder was in great form, reminded me of that midfielder from the 09-10 season, and Milito was also crucial. Today, Alvarez’s breakthroughs on the left made the deepest impression on me.”

”How do you feel about leaving San Siro? Next season you’ll be moving to a new stadium. Does it feel like the club is heartless?”

The journalist asked.

That was what he wanted to know most.

”Of course not.”

Cesare Maldini laughed, lines creasing his face, and said, ”I’ve always looked forward to the day Milan has its own home stadium, didn’t expect to see it in my lifetime. Not having our own stadium severely affects the team’s revenue and reduces Serie A teams’ competitiveness, and it’s already a very serious matter.”

”Are you saying that those city halls are sucking the blood of the Serie A?”

The journalist asked excitedly.

Actually, everyone knows about this.

There have even been protests by clubs and fans, but after all, it’s stable income that no city wants to give up.

If a team builds a new stadium, their old stadium becomes a liability.

With no team to use it, yet still needing maintenance.

Even selling the old stadium to the team, they feel at a loss.

After all, sharing ticket revenue every season is more comfortable.

Cesare Maldini surely knows this too.

Saying such things offends many power holders.

But he still nodded and said, ”Yes, Serie A is moving towards a better side. Our league has Kevin, Messi, Ramos, van Persie, Torres, Sneijder, Milito... More stars will come in the future, yet I see in the papers some cities considering raising stadium rents. They haven’t thought about helping the league develop at all, just thinking about squeezing more money from the team, if they really care about the future of Italian football, every team should have their own home stadium!”

Crazy!

The reporters pressed the shutter hard.

This is not just simple sports news anymore.

The Apennine Peninsula is expected to be very lively in the near future.

However, journalists are still happy to see this kind of situation.

Aside from having more news to write, quite a few journalists are also dissatisfied with the official Italian approach.

The decline of Serie A after Calciopoli is visible to the naked eye, if not for AC Milan holding on, who knows what it would be like.

Now with Huang Kaiwen’s return, Serie A is getting better and better.

Some cities’ first thought was actually to raise the rent.

This is practically trying to kill Serie A’s teams.

Gattuso also understands the situation here, but he doesn’t know how to smooth over Old Maldini’s words.

He can only sit on the chair anxiously.

At this time, Zanetti spoke up and said, ”Mr. Maldini is right, we’ve fallen behind quite a bit. The Premier League is not far from Serie A. We’re already way behind in infrastructure, leading the European Competition scores is just because some teams are in a strong period.”

”Javier, so you think every team should have its own stadium?”

The journalist pursued.

”Of course, it’s good for the development of Italian football.”

Zanetti nodded firmly and said.

Moratti sold part of Saint Kevin’s stadium ownership, and Inter Milan’s situation isn’t looking good.

But Zanetti still believes that as long as the Italian government relents, one day Inter Milan will surely have its own stadium.

And not continue to be bled by the city hall.

There’s no room for compromise on this matter.

The journalists asked questions like crazy.

But Zanetti answered every question directly, without any ambiguity.

Even if he can’t play in the team’s new stadium like Gattuso and them, Zanetti still wants to fight for Inter Milan’s right to have their own stadium.

Seeing Zanetti struggling to cope.

Gattuso suddenly understood.

Why Cesare wanted to flip the table, and why Zanetti insisted.

If it were Milan now without its own stadium, he’d make the same choice.

When the press conference ended, Gattuso quickly left and waited at the door, watched Zanetti coming in, and asked, ”Is it worth it?”

”What?”

Zanetti asked.

”I mean working so hard, even if in the end there might be no reward just like today’s game.”

Gattuso said.

”How could it not be?” Zanetti laughed, a bright smile, and said, ”Effort never goes unrewarded, it’s just sometimes you can’t see the rewards yet.”

Gattuso followed with a laugh.

Returning to the locker room, seeing his teammates still sitting without any intention of leaving, Gattuso asked, ”What, not going home?”
