After signing with AC Milan, I will be the king of football!

Chapter 1418: Chapter 409: Buffon Finally Got His Wish

Unexpectedly, Modric will be one of the Yellow Ball King’s go-to passers for some time in the future.

The other party is new to Chelsea and doesn’t know anyone, so the Yellow Ball King should show some goodwill.

”Is it necessary to pay so much attention to a player from Tottenham?”

Ramos, who was driving, asked.

”I think he’s quite nice.”

Huang Kaiwen said.

”Did he go to university?”

Ramos asked, gripping the steering wheel.

”Probably not...”

Huang Kaiwen replied.

Ramos really valued his identity as a university student.

Maybe before he graduates, I should help him secure a spot for postgraduate studies.

They arrived at Cobham.

The two of them ignored the journalists gathered at the gate and drove straight into the parking lot.

Huang Kaiwen took a special look.

The cars already parked there were all intact.

Although he knew Higuain was unlikely to touch his car, Huang Kaiwen didn’t dare to drive the Ferrari Dino given by Abramovich over.

If the wheels were indeed taken off, it wouldn’t be easy to find replacements.

”Morning, Gonzalo.”

Upon entering the locker room, Huang Kaiwen saw Higuain changing clothes.

”Morning, Kevin, morning, Sergio.”

Higuain looked up and smiled: ”The captain and the new guy are already on the training ground.”

”I know.”

Huang Kaiwen nodded.

Terry had a particularly noticeable habit.

Every time he had a night out,

he would arrive much earlier for team training the next day.

It’s probably a form of compensation mentality.

Thinking about training well and becoming a new man, but it never lasts more than a few days.

Huang Kaiwen thought Terry should see a psychologist; perhaps he really had some issues.

After changing clothes, Huang Kaiwen walked onto the training ground to start simple warm-ups.

Terry waved and shouted, ”Hey, Kevin, let me introduce the new guy.”

”I know him.”

Huang Kaiwen turned and greeted, ”Morning, Luca.”

”Hello, Kevin, I’ve always wanted to play with you.”

Modric extended his hand in greeting.

One of the important reasons he joined Chelsea was because of Huang Kaiwen.

”A lot of people think so.”

Higuain, standing beside them, said.

”You’re early.” Boas approached the training ground and said.

”Didn’t sleep well last night, coach?”

Noticing Boas’ dark circles, Huang Kaiwen asked.

Boas nodded, ”I couldn’t sleep after finishing up yesterday, so I went for a walk, got home a bit late.”

”Make sure to rest more, coach, work will never be finished.”

Huang Kaiwen advised.

Boas nodded and turned to walk towards the office.

After a while, teammates gradually arrived on the training ground.

Mourinho called Modric to the front and said, ”This is the new Luka Modric. He has strong abilities, but I won’t play him as a starter just because the club spent 30 million euros on him. Each of you is the same; I will put forward the best-performing players from training.”

Deco didn’t look too happy.

Even though Mourinho said so, he knew what Modric was there for.

British newspapers had long been suggesting Mourinho to buy someone to replace him.

Sometimes Mourinho would rather play Ballack as a forward midfielder rather than let him play, indicating how dissatisfied Mourinho was with him.

Now, with a new midfielder’s arrival, he almost had no future at Chelsea.

During training,

Deco became even more convinced of his thoughts.

The new teammate was stronger than he imagined.

At lunch, Modric sat next to Bale.

The two were already teammates at Tottenham, and it’s nice to have a familiar face in a new environment.

”Feels like the coach is very...”

Modric thought for a long time before continuing: ”favors Kevin.”

He really couldn’t think of a suitable adjective.

”Of course. At Chelsea, as long as you can pass well to Kevin, you can secure a starting spot.”

Bale nodded, pointing at Huang Kaiwen’s table and said, ”Remember Huntelaar? We even talked about his transfer to Chelsea. The first thing he did after coming to Chelsea was to strengthen opposition training, transforming from a Van Nistelrooy type striker to the new Drogba.”

”What’s the reasoning behind that?”

Modric asked with food in his mouth, mumbling.

”There’s a big difference.”

Bale shook his head and said, ”Van Nistelrooy-type strikers only shoot and need teammates to pass to him. Drogba often makes plays for teammates as a fulcrum. Anyway, when you have the ball, just find the opportunity to pass to Kevin.”

”Didn’t the coach say Chelsea wouldn’t overly rely on any player?”

Modric asked, puzzled.

”Hahaha...”

Bale slapped the table, spewing a mouthful of food.

The teammates all looked over, and he covered his belly with one hand and waved repeatedly with the other to indicate he didn’t mean to.

After a while, he managed to hold back his laughter, lowered his head, and said: ”Let me tell you, just listen to the coach’s words. If you really don’t pass to an open Kevin, the coach will scold you and might even substitute you.”

”Is it that extreme?”

Modric asked.

This kind of tactic relying heavily on a single star clearly doesn’t align with modern football principles.

Even Tottenham doesn’t use such tactics.

”That’s how it is; you’ll understand in the game soon.”

Bale explained.

”And the other players don’t have any complaints?”

Modric asked.

”Complaints? Why would there be complaints?”

Bale turned surprised and said, ”Kevin’s efficiency is high, and he’s strong too. Passing to a stronger teammate isn’t a bad thing. He hasn’t lost yet; he’s really incredible!”

”I see...”

Modric nodded thoughtfully.
