Chapter 2084: Chapter 2083: Colorful Furnace

The Sovereign Witch’s senior brother, it turns out, had the surname Ying, and in that era, he was known as Alchemist Ying.

Standing before his tomb, the Sovereign Witch sighed and said: ”Actually, before my senior brother crafted the Spirit Elixir, he could be considered a righteous person.”

”Before this, he hadn’t committed any evil deeds. He even performed many good acts.”

”Through alchemy, he saved many lives. Although not to the extent of healing the world, he was still a blessing to one region.”

”Unfortunately, in the later years of his lifespan, he secretly crafted Spirit Elixirs to extend his life.”

”By the time the master and I discovered it, he had already killed hundreds of thousands of creatures. By then, the grave mistake was already made, and my master could only painfully clean the household and slaughter him...”

Lin Dong fell silent upon hearing this.

”I’m telling you this to remind you once more. In this world, there aren’t completely bad people, but there also aren’t completely good people. Sometimes, to survive, even good people can turn into bad people.”

”I hope you won’t follow in my senior brother’s footsteps.” The Sovereign Witch sighed.

Lin Dong responded: ”I would rather die than craft Spirit Elixirs.”

The Sovereign Witch nodded: ”I can tell, you are different in essence from my senior brother. My senior brother’s character is somewhat like your senior brother, Qin Feng.”

”Furthermore, General Ying’s words were not wrong. It’s very possible that your senior brother is connected to the Spirit Elixir...”

”If that is truly the case, then no matter what, I will kill him.” Lin Dong stated.

In fact, since Lin Dong began interacting with Qin Feng under the identity ’Dong Lin’, Qin Feng had indeed treated him very well.

In all respects, he provided him with ample help and importance. He even married his younger sister to him.

However, if Qin Feng really is the mastermind behind the crafting of the Spirit Elixir, then no matter how good he had treated Lin Dong before, Lin Dong could not let him go for that reason alone.

”Alright, this is something you need to consider after you go out. For now, your most important task is to find my senior brother’s ancient alchemist recipes.” The Sovereign Witch said.

Hearing this, Lin Dong couldn’t help but frown: ”Senior Sovereign Witch, don’t you know where your senior brother’s recipes are? Why do I need to find them?”

A little awkward, the Sovereign Witch replied: ”I do know he placed the recipes within this Spirit Cave, but I have no idea where exactly.”

Lin Dong felt speechless about this.

He couldn’t help but ask: ”How are you so sure they’re in this Spirit Cave? What if they’re not?”

”They are definitely in this Spirit Cave. My senior brother personally told me so while he was alive. And after he died, I was too lazy to specifically look for those recipes of his. During my life, what would I need his recipes for, I am not an alchemist.”

”You should be able to find them easily enough in here.” The Sovereign Witch said.

”Alright.” Lin Dong had no choice but to start searching in the cave.

This tomb chamber beneath the Spirit Cave is not very large, yet it is filled with many things, all of which have a history several thousand years old.

Most of them have already decayed!

However, some things haven’t decayed. Obviously, they are not ordinary objects.

For instance, in an adjacent room of the tomb chamber, Lin Dong found many alchemy furnaces.

This was the place Emperor Ying used to specifically store alchemy furnaces during his lifetime.

There are over ten alchemy furnaces, all of which were once used by Emperor Ying for alchemy.

Ordinary furnaces have already started to decay.

But there is one furnace, radiating multicolored light, appearing extremely dazzling.

Lin Dong was stunned the moment he saw it.

”This... this seems like the legendary Colorful Furnace! This is a middle-grade alchemy furnace!” Lin Dong was overjoyed.

Alchemy furnaces are categorized into ordinary furnaces without grades.

And then there are graded furnaces.

Graded furnaces are divided into lower-grade, middle-grade, and top-grade furnaces.

Generally speaking, when crafting non-graded pills or some simple first-grade to second-grade pills, ordinary furnaces can be used, even some iron pots or clay jars can suffice.

However, to craft third-grade and above pills, a graded furnace is needed.

And to craft pills above the fifth grade, a middle-grade furnace is necessary!

Lin Dong was lucky enough to have acquired an alchemy furnace at an auction in the Capital City, made from Fire Crystal Stone. That furnace had been sitting in the space of his Dragon Ring.

But that was only a lower-grade furnace! Although it was also a priceless treasure, compared to the Colorful Furnace before him, it paled.

This Colorful Furnace is the supreme treasure among priceless treasures!

No wonder Lin Dong was so excited upon seeing it.

At this moment, the voice of the Sovereign Witch sounded.

”This Colorful Furnace is made from Colorful Mud. In our ancient times, Colorful Mud was an extremely rare supreme treasure.”

”This kind of mud doesn’t decay even after a billion years! Moreover, it contains the essence of the Five Elements, making it especially suitable for alchemy.”

”It can increase the success rate of alchemy and has a special effect. Using the Colorful Furnace for alchemy allows for the reuse of materials.”

”Even if you fail in alchemy, the Colorful Furnace can preserve the efficacy of those materials, allowing them to be reused.”

”This alchemy furnace was my senior brother’s most precious alchemy furnace when he was alive. I didn’t expect he placed it here.”

”However, obtaining it might be somewhat difficult unless you gain its approval!”

Lin Dong naturally understood the meaning behind the Sovereign Witch’s words.

At the level of a middle-grade alchemy furnace, it can develop an Artifact Spirit like the fourth-order spiritual artifact.

However, alchemy furnaces are different from spirit swords.

For example, a fourth-order spirit sword, once it develops a Sword Spirit, will forever follow one master. Even if the master dies, the Sword Spirit will remain by the master’s skeleton.

But the Pill Furnace Spirit is different, if future generations can gain the Pill Furnace Spirit’s approval, it may choose another master!

As an alchemist, Lin Dong was certainly aware of all this.

At this moment, he approached the Colorful Furnace and released his Mental Power, intending to communicate with the furnace using mental strength.

However, just as his Mental Power enveloped the Colorful Furnace, he felt a repelling force.

At the same time, a thought emerged from within the furnace.

The thought was as innocent as a child.

”Little master doesn’t want to come out, won’t refine pills for you.”

Lin Dong did not expect that the Pill Furnace Spirit would convey such a thought to him.

Awkwardly, Lin Dong used Mental Power to communicate with it.

”Why?”

Once again the thought came from the Pill Furnace:

”I am a furnace crafted from Colorful Mud, at least a Pill Emperor-tier master is needed for me to choose a master. I observe your skeleton spirit, you’re just over twenty. Does a greenhorn like you deserve to be my master? For me to refine pills for you?”

”Hehe... if I were human, my grandson could be your ancestor.”

Upon hearing this, Lin Dong nearly spat blood.

He truly didn’t expect there’d come a day when he’d be disdained by an alchemy furnace?

Actually belittled for not being qualified?
