Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 1981: Chapter 1980: Shadow

Fifteen people, but sixteen shadows.

The extra shadow made everyone’s faces turn pale.

Then everyone present were extremely powerful martial artists and wouldn’t be as fearful of ghosts as common people.

But in such an environment, under such an atmosphere, suddenly discovering that there might be a ’ghost’ hiding beside them, even they couldn’t help but feel a surge of fear in their hearts.

”Find your own shadow.” At the moment, Lin Dong spoke to everyone.

If you find your own shadow, then the remaining shadow would naturally be the one that arose mysteriously.

However, when looking for their shadow, they discovered something extremely terrifying.

Everyone found they couldn’t locate their own shadow at all!

Logically speaking, shadows should be at their feet, impossible not to find.

But the shadows here were not beneath their feet like in the outer world.

These sixteen shadows were all identical, stretched long, standing in this passage.

Moreover, the eyes of the shadows were deep and visible, and at this moment, sixteen pairs of shadow eyes were staring at them.

”What’s going on?” Blood Spirit gasped, this bizarre situation startled even her, an Earth Realm martial artist.

Buddhism Evil Heavenly Song’s palms had already gathered Buddha’s light, casting out seals one by one.

”Ouch!” Just as Buddhism Evil Heavenly Song hit one shadow, a cry of ouch came from the darkness.

It was Wolverine King who made the sound!

Wolverine King discovered that he seemed to be struck by a Buddha’s curse.

”What’s going on? Why do I feel like I’ve been hit by a Buddha’s curse?” Wolverine King looked toward Buddhism Evil Heavenly Song.

He realized it must have been him!

Perhaps that Buddha’s curse he got hit by just now was the one cast by Buddhism Evil Heavenly Song.

Buddhism Evil Heavenly Song also frowned slightly and then pondered, ”Could it be, we’ve encountered the ’Mei’ amongst the deviants, demons, ghosts, and monsters!”

”According to ancient records, it’s said that in ancient times, there were four terrifying ghosts and monsters known respectively as deviants, demons, ghosts, and monsters.”

”Among them, ’Chi’ is a ghost that resembles a dragon but is even more terrifying. Born from mountains and rivers, it can control the power of forests and bring disaster to nearby villages upon appearance.”

”’Mei’ is an alluring ghost. It often transforms into a beautiful woman to beguile wandering men in the forests, thus sucking their Yang energy. Besides, Mei has another skill, which is to consume human shadows and control them for its use.”

”As for ’Wang’, it is a water creature. It can manipulate floods.”

”’Liang’ is an illusion conjured from mountain spirits and tree demons, capable of controlling forest disasters.”

”These four kinds of ghosts and monsters are extremely terrifying. Their eerie skills can even easily affect Earth Realm martial artists.”

Hearing the explanation from Buddhism Evil Heavenly Song, everyone’s faces turned even more unsightly.

”Sky-Song Saint-Monk, you mean we’ve encountered the ’Mei’ amongst the deviants, demons, ghosts, and monsters?”

”Is it now hiding in the shadows, controlling our shadows?” Blood Spirit asked.

Buddhism Evil Heavenly Song nodded, ”This Mei can manipulate our shadows, control them to kill like a ghost.”

”If the owner of the shadow is a martial artist, the shadow can exert the same strength as the owner.”

”If someone hits the shadow, then the injured will also be the owner of the shadow.”

”This... this is too terrifying.” Hearing the words of Buddhism Evil Heavenly Song, everyone’s faces became extremely ashen.

”What should we do now? How can we regain control of our shadows? I don’t want to end up without a shadow.” Audrey quickly inquired.

Buddhism Evil Heavenly Song said, ”There is a record in an ancient Buddhism book—when encountering such a situation, to regain your shadow, you must first find your shadow.”

”Then fight with your shadow. If you win, your shadow will return to you. If you lose, your shadow will forever depart from you, becoming Mei’s shadow.”

Upon hearing this, everyone understood.

Isn’t this akin to battling oneself?

Winning against oneself is the only way to reclaim the shadow!

The hardest battle is to defeat oneself.

Only those who can conquer themselves can make it to the end.

At this moment, Lin Dong looked towards Buddhism Evil Heavenly Song and said to him:

”Sky-Song Saint-Monk, would you please cast fifteen Buddha’s seals, allowing us to find our own shadows.”

Just now, Buddhism Evil Heavenly Song cast a Buddha’s seal to help Wolverine King find his shadow.

Now, as long as this method is continued, others can also find their shadows.

Buddhism Evil Heavenly Song nodded.

Then, he consecutively cast fifteen Buddha’s seals.

These fifteen seals were controlled excellently, not injuring the owners of the shadows.

It merely allowed everyone to identify which shadow was theirs.

Once everyone had identified their own shadow, they all went towards their shadow.

”Everyone, by merging your true self and your shadow, you’ll enter the world of ’Mei.’ In the world of Mei, if you defeat your shadow, you can reclaim it.”

”If you fail, then you’ll permanently lose your shadow.”

”The Young Monk does not know the consequences of losing one’s shadow, but the Young Monk believes, that shadow is also a part of one’s body, and losing it would surely affect one’s future Martial Way.”

”Therefore, everyone, it’s best to give it your all.”

Of course, no one wanted to lose their shadow, so they were certain to give their all in the upcoming battle with their own shadow.

At this moment, Lin Dong also found his shadow.

Then he walked up to the shadow, merging his true self with it.

Once he and his shadow merged, the scene before his eyes instantly changed.

Lin Dong found himself in a world full of mirrors.

In this world, the ground consisted of mirrors, reflecting countless images of him.

The sky was also made up of mirrors, filled with countless shadows.

Various mirrors stood tall all around, reflecting both Lin Dong’s image and the shadow’s, appearing extremely eerie.

Standing before Lin Dong was his shadow.

His shadow now looked just like him, only its body was dark and translucent.

Lin Dong observed that its aura was exactly the same as his own.

He now controlled his cultivation realm to a half-step Earth Realm martial artist, and the shadow’s strength matched his.

As he raised his cultivation, the shadow’s cultivation also rose accordingly.

”Interesting, this is my first time confronting myself.” Lin Dong secretly thought.

Upon these words, the shadow also spoke:

”If I defeat you, then I can gain freedom.”

Lin Dong found that this shadow actually had its own thoughts, he couldn’t help but ask:

”Really, do you desire to leave me and gain freedom?”

”Of course, who would wish to eternally be someone else’s shadow?” Lin Dong’s shadow slowly replied.

Lin Dong lightly said, ”The world is filled with light, granting you existence. I never expected you’d want to embrace darkness for the sake of freedom.”

”How could I agree?”
