Chapter 1745: Chapter 1744: A Visitor from Kunlun

King Kunlun is ranked only second on the God Rankings.

As for the one ranked first, his identity is shrouded in mystery. Among the younger generation, almost no one knows who he is.

Even among the elder generation of martial artists, those who have not reached a certain level of strength are unaware of his existence.

When the news broke that the one ranked first on the God Rankings would come to observe the battle, many became curious and began asking questions.

”Who exactly is this number one on the God Rankings?”

”He’s actually stronger than King Kunlun.”

”I’ve heard before that the top ranker on the God Rankings is deeply mysterious, a Heavenly Realm martial artist. But across both the Martial Arts World and the Martial Arts Dark Web, there is no record of him. It really makes one wonder—what sort of figure is he?”

”Can anyone provide some answers?”

”...”

Unfortunately, only that vague, smoke-like rumor was released. No concrete information about the number one ranker on the God Rankings was given.

Too few people knew of his existence. Even those within the top ten of the God Rankings knew very little about him.

And even if they knew, they would not speak much of him.

...

In the Lin Family from the Capital City.

The Old Patriarch of the Lin Family summoned Lin Tiance to her side.

”Grandma, you called for me? Is it about tomorrow’s battle between my master, King Kunlun, and Lin Dong?”

The Old Patriarch of the Lin Family smiled and said, ”It has something to do with him, but there’s also a matter even more important than this.”

”Oh? What could be more important than this?” Lin Tiance asked quickly.

The Old Patriarch of the Lin Family said, ”I want to introduce someone to you.”

Lin Tiance was puzzled. He wondered who his grandma wanted to introduce to him.

However, he knew that this person’s identity must be extraordinary; otherwise, his grandmother wouldn’t place such emphasis on it.

”Grandma, who is it?” Lin Tiance asked curiously.

The Old Patriarch of the Lin Family displayed a smile as serene as that of a Bodhisattva but did not answer him.

”You’ll know soon enough.”

At around ten o’clock in the late night, a spark of light finally gleamed in the Old Patriarch’s usually calm and reserved gaze.

She then said slowly, ”He has arrived.”

When Lin Tiance heard his grandmother’s words, he looked around but saw nothing.

The next moment, however, a figure draped in a black robe, face obscured, appeared out of thin air and stood before him.

Lin Tiance was startled and instinctively stepped back.

”Tiance, you don’t need to be afraid. This is your great-grandfather,” the Old Patriarch of the Lin Family said slowly.

Lin Tiance was momentarily stunned but quickly regained his composure, bowing to the black-robed figure. ”Great-grandfather, greetings! My name is Lin Tiance!”

The black-robed figure nodded slowly and said, ”I saw you when you were born. It was I who chose your name.”

Lin Tiance responded eagerly, ”So my name was given by my great-grandfather? Thank you, great-grandfather.”

Although this great-grandfather claimed to have seen him at birth, Lin Tiance had no memory from back then. This was, in effect, his first meeting with the figure.

To think that this was someone his grandmother revered as an elder, someone he must address as great-grandfather; the sheer thought made Lin Tiance sense the extraordinary power of this person.

Moreover, Lin Tiance knew that his grandmother hailed from the mysterious Kunlun.

This elder of his grandmother’s—his great-grandfather—must undoubtedly hail from Kunlun as well.

Lin Tiance, being someone skilled in using small tricks to win favor, naturally worked hard to curry favor with this person through flattery.

”Great-grandfather, you certainly have great taste in names. I absolutely love the name Tiance!” Lin Tiance said warmly to the black-robed man.

The black-robed man nodded faintly and replied with a smile, ”Child, the blood of Kunlun flows within you. In the future, when the opportunity arises, I will bring you to the Kunlun Sacred Land.”

”With your talents, breaking through to become an Earth Realm martial artist will not take long.”

Upon hearing this, Lin Tiance was overjoyed. ”Great-grandfather, so you are from Kunlun?”

The black-robed man laughed and said, ”Of course. Has your grandmother not told you about Kunlun?”

Lin Tiance replied, ”Grandma shared some things about Kunlun with me. She said Kunlun could be called a sacred land, a place where immortals reside. Great-grandfather, are you also an immortal?”

”Hahaha, if Heavenly Realm martial artists can be called immortals, then yes, your great-grandfather is an immortal!” The black-robed man laughed heartily.

Clearly, he was pleased with Lin Tiance’s flattering words.

Hearing this, Lin Tiance’s heart trembled again. He thought to himself, ”My great-grandfather is truly a Heavenly Realm martial artist, stronger even than my master, King Kunlun!”

He recalled what his great-grandfather had just said about taking him to Kunlun and promising that he could break through to become an Earth Realm martial artist within six months.

His excitement reached its peak!

”Great-grandfather, so you are a Heavenly Realm martial artist. Then compared to those ranked on the God Rankings, wouldn’t they be as insignificant as the difference between cloud and mud?” Lin Tiance continued his flattery.

The black-robed man smiled and said, ”I *am* the first on the God Rankings!”

”Ah?” Lin Tiance was stunned again and blurted out, ”Great-grandfather, so you are the mysterious person ranked first on the God Rankings!”

”Wow, my great-grandfather is actually the number one on the God Rankings. I must be so lucky!”

The black-robed man chuckled again and said, ”The God Rankings? What of it? Do you even know? In truth, the God Rankings are something we Kunlun arranged.”

Buzz!

This revelation—that the God Rankings were created by Kunlun—left Lin Tiance utterly shaken.

”Tiance, once you follow me to Kunlun, you will come to realize just how narrow your current understanding of the Martial Arts World is.”

”Enough, you may leave now. I have some things to discuss with your grandmother.” The black-robed man waved his hand, signaling Lin Tiance to exit.

At this moment, Lin Tiance’s mind was filled with awe and shock.

The blood in his veins was boiling with excitement. This night, he finally understood what kind of terrifying power supported him from the shadows.

His great-grandfather was a Heavenly Realm martial artist! He was the mysterious first on the God Rankings!

And behind him stood Kunlun!

He, too, was a part of Kunlun!

”Hahaha... Lin Dong, what do you have to compete with me? Once you’re dead, I’ll ask my great-grandfather to bring me to Kunlun. By then, I, Lin Tiance, will soar to the skies! Becoming an Earth Realm martial artist will be within my grasp!”

”Give me time, and I might even break through to become a Heavenly Realm martial artist! Hahaha...”

He was giddy with joy, so much so that he could already envision himself breaking through to the Earth Realm within six months and to the Heavenly Realm within a century!

After Lin Tiance left, the black-robed man turned to the Old Patriarch of the Lin Family and said, ”This child, Tiance, is still no match for Lin Zhantian’s son. He’s all empty talk.”

The Old Patriarch heaved a sigh and said slowly, ”If he’s no match for Lin Zhantian’s son, then let Lin Zhantian’s son die.”

”If he continues to live, within ten years, even Kunlun might be threatened by him.”

The black-robed man nodded and said slowly, ”I will attend tomorrow’s battle. If King Kunlun fails to kill him, I, Chen Suming, will personally take action!”

The Old Patriarch of the Lin Family nodded slowly. ”I’ll leave it to you then.”
