Chapter 889: Chapter 889: The Yan Family Brothers

Yan Family.

At the moment, the War God Yan Qing was returning to the Yan Family.

On the way, the Overlord God General, a close aide to the War God Yan Qing, couldn’t help but say,

”War God Yan Qing, sir, your younger brother really is a troublemaker, constantly causing you problems. This time he has even gotten into trouble with Master Lin. If you keep pampering and protecting him like this, I’m afraid you’ll end up suffering because of it in the future...”

His implication was clear.

That was to advise the War God Yan Qing to distance himself from his younger brother Yan Yu.

Otherwise, he would inevitably be dragged down by him in the future.

Hearing this, the War God Yan Qing hmphed and said, ”I don’t want to hear this kind of talk anymore!”

”Yes!”

The Overlord God General was startled and quickly shut his mouth.

However, he thought to himself that Master Lin behaved like a madman. If Master Lin didn’t give face even to the War God Yan Qing and insisted on taking action, then would the War God Yan Qing be his match?

Moreover, a battle with Master Lin would not result in a favorable outcome for the War God Yan Qing, regardless of winning or losing.

If he lost, he might lose his life.

And even if he won, he’d still risk getting injured. Besides, he would end up offending an old brand War God, the Dragon King War God.

But he dared not say any more of this at the moment.

How could the War God Yan Qing not be clear about these truths?

It was all crystal clear in his heart.

However, his feelings for his younger brother Yan Yu ran deep.

At this point, he couldn’t help but recall their childhood.

The Yan Family had once produced an Earth Realm martial artist. However, that was hundreds of years ago, and after the death of that martial artist, the Yan Family went through a generational gap.

They had fallen from their position as a noble martial world family.

When their influence was at its weakest, they couldn’t even compare to the other three top martial families in Demon City, let alone some of the ordinary martial arts families.

During the generations of Yan Qing’s grandfather and father, there were not even any Half-Step Earth Realm martial artists. They were often oppressed by the other three great martial world families.

Even some ordinary martial arts families dared to bully them and tried to seize the resources and industries left by their ancestors.

Their father was killed in this manner.

When Yan Qing was in his teens, Yan Yu was only seven. At that time, after their father passed away, they were the only two direct descendants in the Yan Family.

The family’s resources became pitifully scarce.

At that time, there was an opportunity to join the War Department. If the family’s entire resources were invested in one person, and that person then joined the War Department, they could use those resources, along with the power of the War Department, to grow...

It would be a chance to rise again.

Finally, the two brothers decided to draw lots to determine who would go.

The result of the draw was the elder brother, Yan Qing.

So Yan Qing, carrying the entire Yan Family’s resources, joined the War Department.

Yan Yu, at the age of just a few, began to fend for himself.

Moreover, Yan Yu was very clever. As he grew older, he made a name for himself in society.

He succeeded in business and earned a lot of money.

But all that money, he exchanged for martial arts cultivation resources for his brother, allowing him to grow in peace within the War Department.

Unburdened by concerns, Yan Qing used the resources left by his ancestors and his brother’s support to rise step by step to his current status as a War God.

After becoming parentless, it’s usually the case that the elder brother provides for the younger, but for the Yan brothers, it was the opposite.

”Little brother, I owe you so much! No matter what, I can’t let anyone harm you.”

The War God Yan Qing said firmly to himself in his heart. His position as a War God owed half to his brother. He could not abandon his own brother.

When he returned to the Yan Family with a stride like a dragon and tiger,

Yan Yu approached him.

Behind him, there followed a few Yinghua Warriors.

The War God Yan Qing frowned slightly and said in a chilly voice, ”Didn’t I warn you? Don’t get involved with the Yinghua Warriors. Why don’t you ever listen to me?”

As a War God of the Dragon Country War Department, he naturally had no good feeling toward the Yinghua Warriors.

Seeing that his younger brother had ignored his warning and was entangled with them, a surge of rage welled up inside him.

Yan Yu hurriedly waved his hand, signaling the Yinghua Warriors to step back.

”They just came to see me...” Yan Yu offered an explanation, then said to his brother, the War God Yan Qing,

”Brother, you have to protect me this time.”

”That Master Lin, his strength is truly terrifying. Even Yagyu Ittovine, the One Blade Style Master from Yinghua Country, was killed by him.”

”After he killed Yagyu Ittovine, I had a strong hunch that Master Lin would soon come for me!”

No sooner had he finished speaking than the War God Yan Qing’s gaze turned to the outside of the Yan Family residence.

He sensed a powerful killing intent approaching them.

In today’s Demon City, there weren’t many people with such formidable aura. Even without seeing the person, he could surmise that this was undoubtedly that Master Lin.

”He’s already here!”

The War God Yan Qing muttered, furrowing his brow.

As he spoke, Yan Yu quickly hid behind the War God Yan Qing.

In less than two minutes, a cold voice came from the door.

”Master Lin of Nanjing, has come to the Yan Family on a visit!”

That was the arrival of Lin Dong.
