Chapter 463: Chapter 463: Unexpectedly Meeting a Classmate

”Sister Bing, what did you want to tell me?” Lin Dong asked.

”Lin Dong, are you free tonight?” Qiao Bing replied with a question.

Lin Dong nodded, chuckling with a ’huh huh,’ ”Yes, Sister Bing, could it be that...”

As he spoke, he leaned in close to Qiao Bing’s ear and whispered something that made Qiao Bing blush furiously.

Qiao Bing pinched his waist gently, her face reddening as she said, ”You pervert, where is your mind wandering off to?”

”I asked if you were free tonight because I wanted you to accompany me, to celebrate my sister’s birthday.”

”Birthday?” Lin Dong, puzzled, ”It’s your sister’s birthday today?”

”Yes, but it’s not a milestone birthday, so she’s not going to throw a party. In fact, these past few years she’s been so caught up in work at the shopping mall that she often forgets her own birthday.”

”My sister has been taking care of me since we were little, and this birthday, I want to give her a gift.”

Having heard Qiao Bing’s words, Lin Dong nodded his head.

”Okay.”

”Alright, then after work in the afternoon, come with me to the jade market to pick out a gift,” Qiao Bing instructed.

She had already prepared the cake in advance, and as for the gift, Qiao Bing wanted to give her sister a jade bracelet.

After work in the afternoon, Lin Dong accompanied Qiao Bing to the jade market.

The jade market in Jianghai was quite famous, attracting many people to bet on stones and look for bargains.

However, at the same time, the waters there ran deep. It was easy to be made a fool of.

Qiao Bing had asked Lin Dong to join her precisely because she feared being cheated.

”This time, I’m planning to spend a few tens of thousands of pieces to buy a jade bracelet for my sister,” Qiao Bing said with a smile. ”Lin Dong, do you know how to assess jade?”

Although Lin Dong was no expert, he could make assessments.

After his ’The Seven Orifices’ had opened, his pair of eyes could see through the external appearance of objects to their essence, naturally enabling him to judge the quality of jade.

He could certainly tell the difference between a genuine piece and a mediocre one.

He nodded, ”A little.”

”That’s good then, just so we don’t get too cheated,” Qiao Bing playfully stuck out her tongue, then immediately took Lin Dong’s hand and entered the jade market.

This was the first time the two of them had gone shopping like this. Qiao Bing, holding Lin Dong’s hand, felt sweet inside.

”So it’s true that shopping with someone you like can make you this happy...” Qiao Bing mused delightedly to herself.

”Eh... Lin Dong, is it really you? Damn, I thought I had recognized the wrong person at first! I didn’t expect it to actually be you!”

Just then, a voice full of extreme surprise rang out.

Lin Dong, upon hearing this somewhat familiar voice, was also surprised and quickly looked in the direction the voice came from.

Upon looking, he saw a familiar face.

Even though they hadn’t seen each other in over three years, he could still recognize him at a glance.

This was because the person was a classmate from high school and also a dormitory roommate.

Lin Dong had attended the County’s Number One High School, where he lived in the school dormitory, which housed eight boys in one room.

The person before him was one of his classmates and dorm roommates, Zhang Hao.

”It’s Zhang Hao, what a coincidence,”

Lin Dong said with a voice full of surprise.

”Yeah, Lin Dong, such a coincidence. What are you doing here?” While Zhang Hao was surprised, he also asked out loud.

”I’m here buying jade with my girlfriend. How about you?”

Lin Dong and Zhang Hao struck up a conversation.

Through a hearty chat, Lin Dong found out that Zhang Hao was working here.

After Lin Dong had failed high school, he went straight to the Qing Shan observatory in the village mountains to follow the Daoist Qing Shan in his cultivation for three years.

As for Zhang Hao, he had also failed the college entrance examination and started working right after high school graduation.

And the place he came to work was Jianghai City.

He had always worked in sales; he used to sell houses. However, since real estate sales had been very poor this year, selling for almost a year without moving a single house, he resigned from the real estate intermediary company and came here to sell jade.

”Lin Dong, where are you hanging out these days? To have found such a beautiful girlfriend, you’re doing well,” Zhang Hao patted Lin Dong’s shoulder and glanced at Qiao Bing, full of envy.

Lin Dong smiled and said, ”I’m currently working at Jianghai Renmin’s Hospital, as a doctor...”

”You? A doctor? Hahaha...” Zhang Hao let out an embarrassed laugh, in his eyes, how could Lin Dong possibly be a doctor.

Lin Dong, much like himself, had only graduated from high school and never attended university, becoming a doctor at a Grade III Hospital?

Who would believe such a story if he told it?

He certainly didn’t believe it, thinking Lin Dong was boasting.

”He’s probably working as a security guard and claimed to be a doctor just to save face,” Zhang Hao thought to himself, but he didn’t ”expose” Lin Dong, merely played along with laughter.

All of a sudden, he turned to look at Qiao Bing and noticed that whether it was her looks, clothing, or manner of dress, everything was top-notch, clearly a white, rich, and beautiful woman.

”This Lin Dong, he’s quite lucky to have found a rich lady,” Zhang Hao thought enviously, his face breaking into a smile, ”Lin Dong, is it your girlfriend looking to buy jade?”

”Yes,” Lin Dong nodded.

”Well then, Lin Dong, you have to take care of my business here. I work at this place, selling jade at a jade store. Our store has all kinds of jade, ranging from a few hundred to several hundreds of thousands or even over a million. Whatever your girlfriend wants to buy, we have it,”

”And, I can give you the lowest price...”

Thinking it would be good to support a classmate’s business, Lin Dong turned to Qiao Bing, ”Sister Bing, shall we go to his store?”

Qiao Bing, with her arm around Lin Dong’s, laughingly said, ”I’ll follow your lead.”
