Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 167: Chapter 167: The Burning Pain on the Face

This phone call, he made to the Director of the HR Department.

The Director of the HR Department was well acquainted with him and, in his eyes, dismissing a Visiting Doctor was no big deal.

As he was making the call, his girlfriend Zhang Meilan was saying on the other side:

”So he’s just a Visiting Doctor from the Southern Capital Hospital, and with that status, he dares to pretend to be a rich second-generation with a net worth of over a billion?”

”Kid, you’ve met your match this time. Do you know who our Brother Ming is? He’s an attending doctor at the Southern Capital Hospital, which is several ranks higher than your visiting doctor!”

”He knows all the leaders of the hospital. To dismiss you would be as easy as pie...”

While she was saying this, Liao Ming had already finished his call.

But, to his surprise, when he mentioned dismissing the visiting Doctor Lin Dong, the person on the other end of the line coldly hung up on him.

They didn’t give him the time of day!

Liao Ming was confused.

Meanwhile, in the Office of the HR Department at the Southern Capital Hospital, Director Li who had hung up the phone was cursing up a storm.

”This Liao Ming, do you fucking wish to lose your job, dragging me down with you? And you want to dismiss the practicing Doctor Lin Dong, you fool, didn’t you even bother to find out who Lin Dong is?”

”In the same hospital and you don’t know that he saved Bai Xiaolou’s wife a few days ago? You don’t know that he’s now been named a model doctor of the province? You want me to dismiss such a role-model and hero doctor?”

”Are you trying to kill me?”

Director Li didn’t give a damn about him, dismissing Lin Dong? Dismissing you, Liao Ming, would be more like it!

”So, how did it go, Brother Ming? He’s been dismissed, right?” At that moment, Zhang Meilan asked him with a beaming smile, certain that Lin Dong had been dismissed.

However...

Liao Ming awkwardly said, ”Director Li hung up on me directly, I don’t know what happened...”

Zhang Meilan was also startled, he actually wasn’t dismissed?

Even so, she still arrogantly said to Lin Dong:

”Alright, you’ve managed to keep your job for now, but it won’t last long.”

”After all, you, a measly Visiting Doctor, are nowhere near the level of my Brother Ming.”

”His attending doctor rank, you won’t reach it in your lifetime!”

”Not to mention he had recently been awarded the ’Outstanding Doctor’ honor by Southern Capital Hospital, something you could never catch up with even if you tried...”

But just as she said this, the news on the TV in their private room from the Jiangnan News Channel, suddenly broadcasted a piece of news.

”Today, the selection of our province’s outstanding doctors has been concluded, and the person who has been named the province’s best doctor is a model for doctors throughout the entire Jiangnan Province, and we hope all medical colleagues will learn from him...”

After this news came out, it also shifted everyone’s attention.

After all, the ladies present were all nurses. Their boyfriends, most of whom were doctors, were all part of the medical industry.

For them, from the medical industry, the honor of being one of the province’s best doctors was extremely important and well worth their attention.

”Wow, it’s actually the announcement of the province’s best doctors!”

”Wonder which hospital the doctor is from.”

”If I could get this award one day, my life would be complete.”

”...”

Even Liao Ming at the moment was staring intently at the news, clenching his fists.

”My life goal has been to win the province’s best doctor award just once!”

Although he was outstanding too, he had only received the ’Outstanding Doctor’ award within his hospital, and compared to ’province’s best doctor’, he was still far behind!

And just as everyone was focused on the news, the beautiful hostess on the TV slowly read out the name of the winner:

”The recipient of this year’s ’province’s best doctor’ award is—Doctor Lin Dong!!!”

When the name was announced, a buzz went through the crowd.

”Lin Dong? Why does that name sound so familiar?”

”Have you lost your memory? Isn’t that the name of Bai Jue’s partner right there?”

”Right, oh my god, it can’t be him, can it?”

”How could it be him? He’s just a practicing doctor; how could he possibly get the honor of being the province’s best doctor.”

”True, it’s probably a doctor with the same name and surname.”

”...”

After the announcement, everyone found it hard to believe that the Lin Dong mentioned by the host on the TV was the same Lin Dong who was present with them.

But soon, they were smacked in the face with the truth.

On the TV, the news channel hostess continued to elaborate:

”Lin Dong, a cardiologist from Jianghai Renmin’s Hospital, headed to Southern Capital Hospital for advanced study, and on his first day, encountered a major accident in an amusement park. When no one dared to step forward, he was the first one to do so, saving dozens of victims...”

As they heard this, everyone’s mouth formed an ’O’ shape in shock.

Because what the host was describing fit more and more with the Lin Dong they knew.

Everyone’s minds couldn’t help but harbor a doubt.

The province’s best doctor, it couldn’t really be this Lin Dong in front of them, could it?

It was at this moment on the TV screen in the news, a bare-headed photo of Lin Dong was shown.

When they saw the photo, everyone gasped in surprise.

”Oh my god, it really is him!!”

”This Lin Dong is actually this year’s province’s best doctor!”

”Liao Ming, no wonder you can’t dismiss him. He’s the province’s best doctor, what right do you have to dismiss him?”

”...”

At that moment, Liao Ming felt a scalding pain on his face.
