Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 1099: Chapter 445: Agricultural Department’s Achievements

Ma Guocai’s Construction Engineering Department has made significant contributions, achieving remarkable results in a short period.

After listening to Old Ma’s report, Liang Yuan took the lead in applauding.

”Old Ma, your Construction Engineering Department has worked hard. I’ve already seen the changes in Yangshan as soon as I returned. Very impressive.”

”In the future, our Yangshan will develop faster and faster, and the population is likely to grow. Land resources will indeed become increasingly scarce.”

”High-rise buildings replacing low-rise ones, expanding living spaces, and saving land costs are very necessary. You’ve done well.”

Old Ma smiled and said, ”Actually, if we had the technical capability to build high-rise buildings, I would have wanted to build those thirty-something-story skyscrapers.”

”Now, being able to erect over ten floors is not easy. The foundation of low-rise buildings has to be laid with stones to withstand the weight of the upper levels.”

”Fortunately, we have various rune technologies, and after the mutation of the timber from the mountains, the strength has greatly increased. The emergence of the Silence Rune also blocks all kinds of noise, so there’s no worry about being disturbed by the floors above and below.”

”Plus, with the appearance of the mutated sunflowers now, we don’t have to worry about lighting when building houses. The narrow spacing between buildings is not a problem.”

Talking about construction, Old Ma spoke eloquently, his face full of smiles.

Since Liang Yuan helped him awaken his Earth Attribute Superpower, not only did he experience a rejuvenation, looking over ten years younger,

he now works with more enthusiasm than young people.

Liang Yuan, seeing his Essence, Qi, and Spirit, couldn’t help but smile, saying, ”Very good, Old Ma, your efficiency is high, but remember to rest and take care of your health, okay?”

Ma Guocai burst into hearty laughter, saying, ”We’ve recruited quite a few superpower users in our Construction Department, all strong lads with strength abilities; they’re all very energetic and eager to work and earn points.”

”I estimate that all the singles from our Construction Department will attend this matchmaking event.”

Hearing this, Liang Yuan couldn’t help but laugh aloud, and everyone present joined in the laughter.

Strength-type superpower users are considered somewhat disadvantaged among the various superpower users.

They excel in close combat, but if they encounter speed-type superpower users who don’t engage head-on, there’s not much they can do.

Besides defensive strategies, wrapping themselves up like an iron nugget so that enemies have no place to attack, there aren’t many other tactics.

And this plan can only be used against speed-type superpower users.

Once they encounter elemental or spirit-type superpower users, they’re even more at a disadvantage.

So among the many types of superpower users, strength-type superpower users are the least favored.

However, for the shelter, strength-type superpower users are indispensable labor.

It is precisely because of the existence of a large number of strength-type superpower users that the lack of modern mechanical equipment is resolved, allowing for the rapid development and construction of Yangshan Shelter.

Of course, with Liang Yuan bringing back various superpower equipment and the development of rune technology, strength-type superpower users won’t be looked down upon by other superpower users in the future.

As the saying goes, there’s no weakest superpower, only the weakest superpower user.

Making good use of superpower users is the most powerful.

After Old Ma’s report ended, it was time for Granny Li and Song Wen, responsible for the Agriculture Department, to report.

The development of the Agriculture Department has also changed rapidly, achieving remarkable results.

Song Wen said, ”Over the past few days, we’ve successively discovered eleven new types of edible mutated vegetables, and so far we’ve found a total of seventy-one types of edible mutated vegetables.”

”Suitable for large-scale planting are foxnut, Xiangyun bean, green bean, and golden wheat, among others...”

”Among them, Xiangyun bean was discovered by a local resident of Meishan Village, Li Xiangyun, in the fields. Hence the name, this Xiangyun bean is a mutated variety of soybean. Through cultivation, it was found that this variety of bean grows extremely fast.”

”Basically, under the radiation of the mutated sunflowers, it only takes about two months to mature, and its yield is very high. Each pod can produce at least eight to ten beans, with an output of about 600 pounds per acre.”

”The oil yield of this bean is about 30%. Although not as high as the oil yield of mutated sunflower seeds, it far exceeds the soybean oil yield from before the great flood.”

”The key is that soybeans can be processed into various food products. The Agriculture Department has already established a soybean processing plant, with main products including soybean oil, tofu, soy sauce, tofu skin, dried tofu, yuba, and soy sauce, among others.”

”Ordinary households planting soybeans can also enjoy bean sprouts and homemade soy products.”

”Now, Xiangyun bean has become a major focus of the Agriculture Department’s planting subjects. Almost half of Meishan’s fields are planted with Xiangyun bean.”

...

After Song Wen finished, Granny Li supplemented with some additional information.

Overall, the agriculture department of Yangshan is very promising. Besides discovering important economic crops like Xiangyun bean and red-skin tubers, they’ve also set up a mutated fruit medicinal garden in areas rich in mineral resources.

This concept of a medicinal garden was proposed by Yang Shenmin, Tang Ying, and several elderly gentlemen knowledgeable in traditional Chinese medicine, aimed at artificially cultivating important mutated fruit plants for pharmacological research and production.

Liang Yuan, after listening to this, couldn’t help but be moved again.

Everything in Yangshan has already found its footing. Even if I’m not here, the development continues to progress rapidly.

Now, there’s no need to keep an eye on it every moment, as Yangshan has entered a positive development model.

”With such good development, Yangshan is bound to attract external forces’ attention.”

”Especially since Yangshan contains a wealth of superpower stone mines, and the level of spiritual energy here is definitely not low.”

”If the Spiritual Ability Sect can find the Floating Island with their exploration compasses, there’s no reason the other three great sects won’t find Yangshan.”

”We must quickly enhance the overall combat capabilities of Yangshan to possess self-defense capabilities.”

He sighed inwardly, knowing that this matter was the most urgent at present.

Additionally, the heavy rain continues unabated, and although the temperature is decreasing, it’s still unclear when winter will fully arrive.

The water level keeps rising, and Yangshan’s land area is also decreasing continuously.

The plan to find a floating island must also be advanced, and there cannot be any slackness.

Various thoughts flashed through Liang Yuan’s mind.

The following reports continued from the Inspection Department, Breeding Department, and Slaughterhouse, each beginning their respective reports.

The only departments that didn’t report back were the Superpower Research Institute and the Yangshan Medical Center.

The items developed by these two departments are quite important and not suitable for reporting in front of a large crowd.

Therefore, Liang Yuan specifically instructed Li Hanzhong and Yang Shenmin not to participate in the reporting work.

Even so, the meeting went on into the evening as each department, big and small, took turns speaking.

Fortunately, there were mutated sunflowers in the Sunshine District providing daylight, making it feel like daytime, and no one felt tired.

On the contrary, listening to the reports from each department, everyone was visibly excited and filled with joy.

As members of Yangshan, hearing that Yangshan is getting better and stronger naturally fills them with pride.

When everyone finished speaking, Liang Yuan finally spoke: ”Well, I didn’t expect that while I was away, everyone’s work has been completed so excellently.”

”Here, I also represent the residents of Yangshan Shelter to thank everyone for your efforts and contributions.”

Granny Li was the first to speak with a smile: ”Xiaoliang, what are you talking about? You took everyone and made a home on this mountain, giving us a place to settle down.”

”This is also everyone’s home. Isn’t it our duty to add bricks and tiles to our own home?”

Old Ma promptly followed: ”Indeed, Xiaoliang, everyone is doing this for Yangshan; you can’t bear everything on your own.”

Others also chimed in.

”Mr. Liang, you’re too polite; this is something we ought to do.”

”Yes, Mr. Liang, and we aren’t working for free; didn’t you pay us salaries?”

”Exactly, Mr. Liang, Yangshan is our home.”

...

Listening to everyone’s words, Liang Yuan smiled sincerely.

This warmth is incredibly precious and especially cherished in the post-apocalyptic world.

Outside, people plot against each other, selling their wives and daughters for a meal, even brothers turning against each other.

But here at Yangshan, he sees the bright side of human nature again.

Feeling moved, he then said: ”Everyone, Yangshan is my home too; I won’t say more, but let me tell you about what I gained on this trip.”

Liang Yuan began to speak about serious matters, his expression becoming somber.

Seeing his solemn face, others naturally sensed that what Liang Yuan might say is very important.

So everyone sat down, showing cautious expressions.

Liang Yuan began, speaking in a deep voice: ”On this trip, I went to a place called Mist City.”

”This island is a floating island on the water; no matter how the floodwaters rise, it can float up and never worry about being submerged!”

Liang Yuan’s words instantly shocked everyone in the room.

”What?”

”An island floating on water? How is that possible?”

”How could there be such an island?”

Unable to comprehend, everyone looked astonished.

Suddenly, an elder from Meidu Garden who had followed Liang Yuan recalled something and exclaimed: ”Could it be like Turtle Island?”

The incident at Turtle Island is no secret among the people.

Since Liang Yuan took over Yangshan and became its undisputed leader, his past experiences are often recounted by the elders.

The incident at Turtle Island was a sensational event before Liang Yuan came to Yangshan.

That time, many of those who traveled with Liang Yuan met with accidents.

Since Liang Yuan became the Master of Yang Mountain, this incident has been frequently talked about.

So most people present knew about Turtle Island.

Liang Yuan shook his head slightly and said in a deep voice: ”The Mist City is enormous, equivalent to the size of Linjiang City’s entire downtown area, covering at least eighty square kilometers.”

”It is thousands of times larger than Turtle Island.”

Everyone looked horrified and in disbelief.

Eighty square kilometers, comparable to downtown Linjiang City?

How is it possible?

”How can there be such a large floating island?”

”Mr. Liang, what’s on the island?”

”Is it truly an island?”

”Xiaoliang, such a large island, if it were part of Linjiang City, we wouldn’t have been ignorant of it before the flood.”

Liang Yuan said in a deep voice: ”Upon investigation, it’s not really an island but a massive biological corpse!”

”What!”

”Impossible!”

”An enormous corpse island of eighty square kilometers? Is this a fairy tale?”

”Mr. Liang, is this true?”

...

Below, the crowd engaged in intense discussions, every face showing disbelief.

This news is truly shocking!
