The Great Thief

“Aren’t you ready? What are you waiting for,” Anachronos asked curiously, his giant head looking over.

“I want to give it to one of my teachers, to repay her for her guidance. She’s a great Thief teacher. I’m only here today thanks to her old teachings…” Lu Li said, thinking on his feet and coming up with an excuse.

“Elf, your mind really is sharp,” Anachronos interrupted, then continued impatiently, “But if you only have the Shifting Sands Sceptre and don’t have the Black Qiraji Battle Tank, how are you going hit the gong of the beetles?”

“Pfft.”

Lu Li was angry. He wanted to say something that couldn’t be written here.

He knew it would be like this!

He knew it would be like this!

He damn knew it would be like this – and he still had to do this quest.

The miserable Lu, with an obviously gloomy expression, purposelessly chose to hatch a Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal. The place for hatching was rather grand. It was roughly what it looked like during the War of the Shifting Sands. There were big druids, giant dragons and swarms of insects, all covered in blood from the tough fighting.

The dragons took some insect eggs as their spoils of war. Now firstly, although these were called insects, these critters weren’t small at all. They were even a little larger than Lu Li’s Headless Paladin’s Steed. Every one of their joints were densely packed with hangnails, and they had a pair of giant, invincible metal hooks. Lastly, these insects were all colored black and purple. Under the frosty moonlight, they looked even more cold and mysterious.

The System pointed out that Lu Li chose to share skills with the bugs.

It wasn’t that Lu Li hadn’t thought of this problem before. Placed in front of him were a few limited options. After all, there was no way to link together active attack skills. According to the Dawn rules, in the current patch, apart from Paladins who could perform some limited active attacks when mounted, other roles would, by default, dismount when they carried out an attack.

As such, was Lu Li binding Stealth, or Gale Steps, or some other skill to increase his speed or escape.

Since he had the Raven Transformation, this sort of thing was fine. With two ravens flying around, you would think they were performing a love drama.

In the end, he was hesitantly deciding between Gale Steps and Stealth.

If he chose Gale Steps, then Lu Li and his mount would gain one second of Invulnerability and acceleration. When his was escaping, of course he would be faster than running on two legs. If it was Stealth, Lu Li could hide and escape together with his mount,.

Each of the two options had their advantages and disadvantages. It was a shame he couldn’t combine them both.

In the end, what Lu Li chose was Stealth.

Although Gale Steps lasted longer, and Lu Li wasn’t lacking any escape methods, he didn’t think that he could run that far with one second of Invulnerability. After it ran out, he would still be attacked off his mount. Gale Steps seemed like a tantalizing option, but in most circumstances, it was pretty useless.

Stealth didn’t seem very impressive, but for Lu Li and his mount, it would increase their speed and mobility by a significant amount, so they could save quite a bit of time.

Just as a note, the insects could move incredibly fast, 20% faster than an average player on a mount.

At the moment, the mount’s speed was related to two factors. One factor was the original speed of the mount, and the other was the player’s Riding level. The lowest level mount could only increase the player’s speed by 60%. Even if the Riding level was higher, it was no use.

A slightly better mount could give the player an increase of 100% in speed. This was dependent on the player having an intermediate riding level, otherwise, it would still only be an increase of 60%.

When Lu Li was still at a beginner level in riding, his Black Qiraji Battle Tank could give him a speed increase of 80%. By the time he progressed to an intermediate level, he could gain a speed increase of 120%.

Apart from this, the Black Qiraji Battle Tank had another aspect that was rather impressive.

It took less time for him to get on and off the mount compared to others. Getting off didn’t matter – everyone took a short time to get off, so there wasn’t any need for this to be reduced. The key thing that was useful was that it was quicker for him to get on the mount.

When other people were still taking time to get on, you could already be running away.

Simply because of these things, the Black Qiraji Battle Tank was already considered one of the best mounts. In all of the China area, there was only a single such rare one like this. It immediately became the coolest mount that everyone wanted.

The Spectral Tiger might have been more eye-catching, and its attributes were more or less the same, but it wasn’t as rare as to be the only one in the whole area.

Lu Li rode his new mount with a sad face, all the while moving further away from Anachronos’ content eyes. He was deeply hurt as he grieved the dream of 50 million dollars being snatched away from him.

Who would’ve thought that the new mount he was riding had already gone viral online?

It was such an eye-catching mount that no one had seen before, and also it was a type of new monster in the new expansion pack. Without a doubt, it belonged to the one who was doing the first Ahn’Qiraj quest, Lu Li.

Lu Li had already finished the quest!

This news made the other high-level clubs feel hopeless.

Why couldn’t you just give others a chance? At this, everyone maintained that this damn Lu Li was now the king of sponging off his woman in the game.

Even though Water Fairy came out to clarify that neither Drizzle Court nor Peerless City had given nothing to help with the quest, not a single person was willing to believe it. Some people had seen with their own eyes Lu Li and Water Fairy completing some secret exchange in Stormwind City’s warehouse district.

The king of leeching was the first to complete the shattered scepter quest! Wasn’t this something?

Not at all!

But no matter what, when everyone saw Lu Li’s depressed face as he continued riding his new mount in Silithus, they could only salivate.

When all the major clubs came together to resist the green dragon, Lu Li promised that he wouldn’t be the first to go into the Qiraji Instance Dungeon. Although he was shameless, he still had to respect this sort of promise that he made to so many people.

He wasn’t crazy, but it was just that even though he had finished the opening quest, he couldn’t get the First Clear straight away.

He still needed to clean up on the outside. There were a lot of monsters that needed to be killed, lots of quests that could be done, and lots of potions, minerals, leathers and other resources that could be collected. If you were to list it all out, by the time Lu Li stood outside the two entrances to the Ahn’Qiraj Instance Dungeon, the other clubs would already be pretty much finished with the quest.

At that time, everyone would come to do the First Clear. Who would actually get the First Clear, though, depended on themselves.
