The Great Thief

As for whether his words were effective or not, only the waitress knew.

The package was the deed for the Felstone Fields and had been left for her by the sister. It was not important anymore.

“This is the protective talisman that all Felstone family members have. You should be able to feel where each other are when you get close to one another. Bring it to my sister. She would know where John is,” Emma said as she took out a talisman and handed it to Lu Li, allowing him to continue with the quest.

“Or, you can come with me to visit her and let her know that you’re living nicely,” Lu Li invited.

Emma thought about it seriously.

Originally, she had thought about avoiding everything that involved Janice Felstone. After all, her sister was already dead. Furthermore, she had also cut ties with her past. The insane girl on the riverbank was already dead.

However, was she willing to cut ties with everything?

Although her sister was only a spirit now, seeing her sister and letting her sister see her would demonstrate that the Felstone family had not been completely destroyed. They still had people living in Azeroth.

The place was a little far, but Kayklee was a reasonable person. He didn’t make things difficult for his adopted daughter.

When they got there, there were a lot of Undead around the area along with a few high-grade monsters. These types of monsters weren’t Bosses, but it would still take a long time for this small party to kill it.

Emma was a little absent-minded. If it wasn’t for Lu Li, it was likely that she would have been attacked.

She was a point of contact for the Ravenholdt Manor and although her skill wasn’t comparable to the masters, she was still a force to be reckoned with.

Perhaps it was because of these monsters.

They weren’t natural monsters. In Emma’s eyes, they were all once living beings.

She was unintentionally pulled into training in Ravenholdt Manor, then became one of their members. It wasn’t that Emma couldn’t return, but that she didn’t want to return and face this.

“Your sister is just up ahead,” Lu Li reminded.

Emma Felstone stood at the bottom of the stairs for a while. Then, she gathered her courage and walked upstairs.

“Do you guys bring news about John? Ah! Emma! Is that you!?” Janice Felstone cried out as she rushed over to Emma. Unfortunately, she was a spirit, so she couldn’t physically hug her sister.

“It’s me. Sorry. I’m late,” Emma Felstone apologized with great sorrow.

“You…you look like you’re living quite well,” Janice Felstone sighed in great relief. She looked into the mirror every day, but already knew that she was dead.

She had obsessed over her relatives all this time.

Besides the sombre atmosphere of this meeting, Lu Li still needed to go and clear out all these Undead. The Alliance would take control of this area, then advance from here. They would also research into curing the Plaguelands.

At the very least, he couldn’t let them roam free.

After a while, Emma came down from the second floor. With a sad tone in her voice she said, “I felt John’s presence. He should be close by…”

This had a hidden meaning. The Felstone Fields had been ravaged by the Scourge for so many years, so the only beings that could be staying in this place would be the Undead.

Emma brought Lu Li and found this Undead. He was not far from the house that Janice Felstone was in and was now a restless ghoul with a pitchfork. He walked aggressively everywhere and constantly let out an unpleasant, growning sound.

Emma listened for a while, then took out a scroll and threw it on the ghoul’s body.

The ghoul was immersed in holy light, after which an image of a young man was created.

In the end, a talisman remained. Emma then reached out her hand and took the talisman.

She took this talisman and brought it to her sister. After Lu Li and the others returned from battle, there were no longer traces any of the spirit.

“These are the rewards for your quest. Thank you for all that you have done for my sister.”

Emma handed them five stones that could be embedded into equipment. All of them added Shadow Resistance. The effects would take place immediately after embedding them.

These were the quest rewards, so naturally, Lu Li and the others didn’t have any objections.

Emma then took the initiative to ask Lu Li about fighting monsters

“Let me help you guys clear out this area. These…dirty beings should not be dwelling on the Felstone family’s land.”.

Originally when Lu Li suggested for Emma to come along, there was also the motive of having her fight with them.

However, seeing how Emma’s mood was on the way here, he no longer had any hope that she would help them fight. From a friend’s perspective, Lu Li understood how Emma felt. Not everyone was like Bourne from before, able to kill their own relatives in the name of justice.

It was completely unexpected that Emma would bring it up herself.

With the help of an NPC, clearing the Felstone Fields was much easier.

“These two friends of yours are quite capable,” she commented with a blank expression on her face as she instantly killed a large Stitches.

Compared to when she had first brought Lu Li to the Ravenholdt Manor, she was truly much, much stronger than before. Lu Li’s skills were no longer comparable to hers.

Everyone learnt something from watching her fight.

Ravenholdt Manor was Azeroth’s most elite gathering of Thieves. Emma was a notable figure within the organisation, so it was only natural that her strength had increased. If Lu Li didn’t have so many things to take care and followed his mentor every day, there was still considerable room for his strength to improve.

“We’re…we’re on completely different levels,” Cain’s Left Hand said as he smiled bitterly.

Besides the immense strength of this female NPC, even Lu Li and Water Fairy were on different levels compared to them.

“If they are willing, I can recommend them to the organisation,” Emma offered to Lu Li.

Organisation?

Cain’s Left Hand and Scarlet Red Moon were confused. Were Lu Li and them all part of this organisation? Furthermore, looking at Water Fairy and her calm expression, as well as her relationship with this female Thief, she was probably in the organisation as well.

Lu Li was extremely happy. At that moment, he felt that all his hard work had been worth it.

Ravenholdt manor was the one of the most secretive, if not the most secretive organisation in Azeroth. As a result, it also was the most difficult to join. Even in Lu Li’s previous life, there were only a little more than ten players in the organisation. Perhaps there were more who just kept their identities hidden. However, compared to the other organisations, the numbers were frighteningly low.

Even the most popular and most elite Thief ranks in the Alliance took in at least a few thousand players.

Lu Li immediately accepted that offer for the two of them.

“Of course. They’re extremely lucky.”

With the Shadow Resistance stones and the NPC helping them in the fight, it made things much, much easier for the main questline.

However, this wasn’t the real reward of the quest. Perhaps it was because he had already known Emma before accepting the quest, but his questline was different to that of a normal player’s. This part had involved Emma, so there were more rewards than the normal version.

Now, the real rewards were here.

There were two Ravenholdt Manor memberships in front of them. This was more precious than one…no, two Epic items!
