The Great Thief

Bathrilor’s status was not only limited to the Household Registration. He was a noble and was well-known for his intellect.

Lu Li had asked him for some things previously, but this was their first meeting.

The census was one of the emptiest departments in Stormwind City. As soon as players saw these words on the label, they would turn around and leave. No one bothered to try and trigger any questlines here. However, it wasn’t like Bathrilor had many quests to give either.

“I hope I did not disturb you, respected elder,” Lu Li greeted Bathrilor with respect and politeness.

“Oh? An Elf visitor? What can I do for you?” the old man asked as he slowly took off his glasses, raised his head, and smiled stiffly at Lu Li.

“You are an extremely knowledgeable elder. I wish to know more about a person called Emma – Emma Felstone. She should be from the Felstone Fields. That place is now a place overrun with the Scourge,” Lu Li explained, getting right to the point.

“Felstone Fields, huh? I know that place. I’ve been there before, in my younger years.”

It seemed like he was reliving his memories from the past. After a while, Bathrilor pointed at the huge bookshelf and said, “Third row, number 6. Bring it over to me.”

Lu Li went and looked for the item. He found it, then brought the book over to Bathrilor.

The elderly academic opened the book and turned a few pages, after which a weird expression came upon his face.

“She was also an unfortunate child. Emma Felstone brought her younger sister, alongside the escapees, and managed to travel to Stormwind City. However, not long after that, her sister drowned. Oh, that’s right. Her sister’s name was Jenny Felstone. After her younger sister had died, she would often be found along the river where her sister had drowned. Then, a good person helped her and brought her to escape this tragedy-ridden place.”

Wait…this wasn’t right.

Lu Li was a little confused. He had done this quest in his previous life, so he knew the processes as well as the rewards of the quest.

According to what Lu Li knew, after Jenny Felstone had died, Emma Felstone went insane. After this, someone found her corpse on the riverbank in Stormwind City. An owner of a fruit store decided to collect her body and prepare it for burial. Players just needed to find this owner and get half of Emma’s protective talisman.

Perhaps it was because the Plaguelands were where the event was being held, so the content of the quest had been changed.

However, theoretically speaking, Emma Felstone should be dead already. This shouldn’t have been affected by the map. Although the game company might have changed the content of the quest due to the event map, there was no need to change their living status.

“Is there something wrong?” Bathrilor asked. He couldn’t understand Lu Li’s current expression.

Lu Li composed himself and decided to follow what the quest said.

“No, there’s nothing wrong. May I ask who that good person was? Where can I find Emma? There’s something I must give her.”

Perhaps it was because Plaguelands was active, or it could be because he had entered the game a year earlier than in his previous life.

This was only a quest.

No matter how it changed, as long as the rewards were still given, there would be no problems.

“Kayklee. This should be the name, but he is no longer in Stormwind City. Maybe you can find him at Southshore,” Bathrilor said.

Kayklee? Southshore?

Wasn’t that the name of the owner of the Southshore tavern? Lu Li was a regular customer in that tavern, so it was impossible to forget that name. It was highly unlikely that there was another person called Kayklee in Southshore.

As for Emma…

Lu Li thought over everyone in the tavern and tried to find who would fit this image the most.

Firstly, she couldn’t be too old, and secondly, she was brought over by Kayklee, so their relationship must have been quite good. Lastly, if she was working in the tavern, then there were only a few people to suspect.

Nyma?

Emma Felstone!

Jenny Felstone!

Could she have combined her name with her sister’s name?

Lu Li finally understood a little as to why his quest was slightly different to the others.

He knew Nyma quite well, which led to the triggering of a hidden part of the quest. Normal people wouldn’t be familiar with a tavern waitress. Lu Li, however, was so familiar with her to the point that the secretive Ravenholdt Manor was involved.

Emma Felstone was not only alive, but she was also an assassin in the Ravenholdt Manor.

Now, her identity was that of a tavern waitress and an adopted daughter of the owner, Kayklee. She was also a point of contact with the Ravenholdt Manor, stationed at Southshore.

What a surprise!

Lu Li immediately took the package and went straight to Southshore.

Kayklee was sitting behind the counter in a clearly drunken state. When Lu Li entered, all he did was look over. Perhaps it was because they were already familiar with each other, to the point where a greeting wasn’t even needed.

The female waitress quickly came over and greeted him. There were a few waitresses, but she was always the one to take care of Lu Li.

“I have a few quests here. If you’re interested, you can pick two of them to do,” the female waitress said in a lowered voice. Lu Li picked two quests that didn’t look too complicated but had good rewards. This was one of the benefits of having a good relationship with them. The newbies in Ravenholdt Manor would still be wracking their brains, trying to find out how to trigger quests.

Not only did Lu Li have the benefit of receiving quests, but he even had the right to choose.

“Actually, that isn’t why I came here this time,” Lu Li said, then hesitated for a little while, before continuing, “I went to the Plaguelands today to do a quest. I passed by a place called the Felstone Fields. At that place…”

The female waitress’ usual happy expression immediately changed upon hearing that.

She was definitely that Emma.

“This package was supposed to be delivered a long time ago. I have no idea where this is supposed to go,” Lu Li said as he took out the quest item.

Nyma, or Emma Felstone, took the package and responded in a slightly frightened tone, “I thought that I had completely cut ties with my past. I didn’t think that I would hear these familiar names again. The Felstone family has already become history.”

“I heard that in the far-away Undercity, there was someone selling cockroaches. He goes by the name Jeremiah. It seems like his last name is also Felstone, but he usually goes by the name Jeremiah Payson,” Lu Li said.

This wasn’t any secret. The Felstone Fields quest could be taken by either camps. Horde players naturally would not be able to go to Stormwind City and look for Emma, so their alternative was to look for the cockroach vendor in Undercity.

Emma’s eyes instantly glistened upon hearing that.

Jeremiah. How could she forget him? He was their younger brother, pursuing his studies in Lordaeron!

However, she quickly realised the place that Lu Li was talking about. Where Lordaeron had once stood was now a dead city. The Forsaken were now living here; there were no longer any living people.

Her younger brother…

There was still only her who remained in the world after all.

“Maybe we can acknowledge that he is just living in a different way. Emma, because of you, he hasn’t been forgotten completely.” Lu Li could only comfort her like this.
