The Great Thief

Lu Li’s damage significantly improved after he stopped worrying about the princess.

He was ranked number two on the damage chart, just below Water Fairy, but now that he was focused on dealing damage, he quickly surpassed her.

Empowerment: Shadowstrike surely gave him an advantage when it came to DPS.

However, this wasn’t enough to overcome the gap between the team and the boss, so their next trial still failed.

Through these constant wipes, some synchronization between the team began to develop. They were able to make it through to phase three on their next attempt.

Phase three had its own separate issues. Besides putting the teamwork of the players to the test, it also challenged each individual’s techniques and game sense.

However, Lu Li wasn’t afraid of this problem. Their team was limited in class variety and wasn’t the best at working with each other, but the least of their concerns were their techniques and game sense. This was what they had all made careers out of; they were the best of the best amongst all players.

During phase three, Thaurissan finally began to cast some skills.

One by one, rocks that burned in dark red flames were summoned before him, then unpredictably flew towards the players in waves.

These rocks were around one meter in diameter and had more of an impact their just damage alone. They could also knock out players.

Players could dodge the first rock, but run into a second by accident. Many would constantly die in this mess, which would inevitably lead to a wipe.

Later on, to make the dungeon easier, the gaming company would reduce the speed of these rocks by half. Even so, many teams still struggled, so it wasn’t hard to imagine their current situation. The ones who had it the toughest would be the close combat classes. Sometimes, the rocks would fly right beside them, and push them into another. If this chain reaction continued, they would quickly find themselves dead.

Apparently, clubs used this place to train the reaction time of their newbies.

Lu Li’s job was to help analyze how to dodge each of these large rocks and propose how they were to survive if they were hit.

As they all grew familiar with this, phase three became easier.

Around the seventh, or possibly eighth attempt, they didn’t encounter a single issue until the third phase. Not a single player died, and Old Man Power’s battle resurrection was also still available.

“Dodge! Melee classes, play safe – don’t use any skills that will freeze yourself.”

“Unforgettable Maple, stop running. Just Flash, hurry!”

“Elevenless, cancel your Whirlwind. Do you think you can really tank all that damage?”

“Breezy, you’re done keeping your damage reduction. What if the boss goes berserk?”

“Interrupt Princess Moira’s healing. Who’s turn is it? Why hasn’t anyone stopped it. Never mind, don’t worry about it – pay attention.”

Lu Li felt like he was about to lose his voice. Not only did he have to guarantee his own damage output, but he also had to pay attention to everything that was happening while dodging the rocks. He really gave it his all; even his battle against Blue Universe wasn’t so tiring.

Berserk!

Thaurissan roared and his size grew by half.

Fortunately, he didn’t have any buffs on him at this point, or else, this would have been a tougher situation.

There was no way Azure Sea Breeze could tank Thaurissan while he was in Berserk mode. As long as the aggression was on him, he could kite and control the boss.

The other players began to cast the burst skills that they had; some of them even began to use their trump cards that they had planned to hide.

Finally, a special announcement appeared in the world channel.

System: Congratulations to the Celebrity Team. Under the lead of command Lu Li, Sorrowless, Water Fairy, Unforgettable Maple, Azure Sea Breeze, Elevenless, Sea Breaker, March Rain, Wendelian, Hornet’s Nest, Phantom Gaze, Jade Flower, Old Man Power, Green Flag Wine and Hot Twitch have taken the First Clear of the Blackrock Depths dungeon on Nightmare mode!

The major guilds finally had their chance to show off.

Rows of congratulations quickly filled the world channel.

White Westhill: Congratulations to the celebrity team from Glory Capital!

Dust Dragon: Congratulations to the celebrity team from Blood Red War Flag!

Square Root 3: Congratulations to the celebrity team from Ruling Sword. Good work, Commander Lu Li!

It was inevitable that Square Root 3 was slower than the others since he didn’t have this sort of experience. However, he included Lu Li in his words and it stood out.

At least, the others couldn’t say the same thing shamelessly. It wasn’t as though they could show off the fact that their players only had an average damage output.

Even the guild master of Gangnam Royals, Heart of War, sent his congratulations. No matter how poor his relationship was with Old Man Power, he still had stand up for his guild.

What was interesting were the words from Drizzle Court.

Peerless City: Congratulations to the celebrity team from Ruling Sword. Good work, Commander Lu Li!

All their related guilds also said the same thing – even Peerless City followed, making it seemed like Lu Li was really their son-in-law too. Then, the world channel was quickly filled with words like “long live the dirty couple.”

The dirty couple had become trendy term in the game.

The First Clear reward from the system was quickly sent to everyone. Wendelian also went up and looted the corpse.

Time was slipping away and everyone was in a hurry to go home and analyze the dungeon for a guide. That way, their teams would be able to enter the Blackrock Depths sooner.

Nightslayer Bracelets! A Legendary equip!

“A Legendary set piece for Thieves – isn’t the Nightslayer set supposed to be a Dark Gold set. When did it become legendary?” Wendelian asked, her voice shaking a little. It was the first time she had seen a set that was Legendary.

Everyone glanced at Lu Li and Water Fairy, feeling envious of them both.

But soon, they were ready to see some drama unfold. Even if this piece of equipment didn’t come with top Attributes, it was at least equivalent to an exquisite Legendary weapon.

Would the dirty couple fight over it?
