The Great Thief

The Magic Staff was a basic attack and was capable of killing someone like Lu Li, who only had a few points of HP left.

Lu Li’s dagger and Voidwalker’s Magic Staff reached each other at almost the same time, and the two almost simultaneously turned into white light.

Who had won in the end?

Could it have been a draw?

This was the first time that such an outcome had occured. From the audience’s perspective, there was no particular order to their deaths, but Voidwalker had attacked with his Magic Staff first. After all, Lu Li used his dagger after Kicking.

Through the silence of the audience and the commentators, the System flashed with Lu Li’s image and Ruling Sword appeared in gold midair as fireworks exploded.

“How is this possible? Voidwalker clearly attacked first; the System is wrong. This is cheating!”

“I think it should be a tie. After all, both players died.”

“He managed to take on five players on his own. No matter who died first, I still think Lu Li is amazing.”

“Even Sorrowless doesn’t have a record like this. Green Flag Wine’s Tire Killer had done it the previous game, but it was during the qualifying rounds.”

“Lu Li was a Thief and could only last for so long. The question is whether Blue Universe is just too weak or whether Lu Li is just too strong?”

“I think Vampirism played a big role. Lu Li has a strong Vampirism effect. When there is a red mist over his body, that is probably Vampirism working. Go back and hoard as many Vampirism items as you can. It’s likely that Vampirism equipment will increase in price after this match ends.”

At this time, the System started playing a slow-motion replay of the last moments of the game on the big screen.

It was true that Voidwalker hit Lu Li first and took 32 points of HP. However, the 32 damage wasn’t enough to kill Lu Li. Lu Li had eleven HP after that and landed his attack. In the next moment, 15 damage appeared over Lu Li’s head which was the result of the Warlock’s continuous damage and caused him to die.

Lu Li had actually died a few milliseconds after Voidwalker, and was therefore the winner of the match.

There were no circumstances in Dawn where a tie was allowed, and now, Lu Li’s five-on-one attempt had become a reality.

“Boss!” Fat Monkey was even more excited than Lu Li, who had won. He shouted, “I want to take on five players next time too! Even if they are just newbies, it looks so exciting.”

“You’re so embarrassing,” Moonlight sighed as he shook his head in disagreement.

He was still waiting to play, but he wasn’t even given a chance to. In his opinion, Lu Li had gone a bit over the line here and completely humiliated Blue Universe.

Not only had they now lost their opportunity to get into the top 8, but they also had to explain to their Boss about what had happened.

In fact, he and other players would probably misread the situation as there being some kind of conflict between Lu Li and Water Fairy. This was why Lu Li had decided to teach Water Fairy a lesson with this oppressive match.

Although he didn’t have much emotional experience as he was quite an eccentric person, he knew that the girl would not be very happy about this. If Lu Li continued like this, there was a chance that his relationship with Water Fairy wouldn’t last for much longer.

However, Lu Li couldn’t be bothered explaining Water Fairy’s domestic affairs to his teammates.

Besides, Water Fairy had just sent him a message. It was just a short thank you, which clearly supported Lu Li’s attack on her father through this match.

“Get ready for the team match. Mu Qiu and Memories are on stand-by. Everyone go in!”

Lu Li, Moonlight, Kitty Likes Meat, March Rain and Fat Monkey entered the arena, forming a double physical and double magical damage composition. This was the strongest Ruling Sword lineup with Mu Qiu and Sakura Memories on stand-by.

The map was a mountain with one team starting at the top and the other team starting at the bottom.

There was an obvious advantage to starting at the top. Attacks had greater range and skills were easier to use. However, this was balanced by the fact that the team at the bottom who was trying to capture the flag had more options. All they had to do was clear the 5000HP on the flag, and they would win, even if they didn’t kill all the players.

Blue Universe was defending the flag while Ruling Sword was attacking.

Different professions had different strengths and weaknesses. Ruling Sword had two ranged players, which was satisfactory.

If you were attacking the flag, the best tactic was to divide the team into two groups. However, Lu Li wanted to make a show of strength, so they didn’t bother with that tactic and just charged up the mountain.

Blue Universe stood by the flag and didn’t move at all. They were waiting for Ruling Sword to come and attack them. They knew that Ruling Sword’s strong mental fortitude meant that they wouldn’t be afraid to attack. Even if they lost a member there, their substitute would appear almost instantly.

However, if Ruling Sword lost a player, their substitute would appear at the bottom of the mountain and would take some time before they arrived at the top of the battlefield.

The two sides slowly closed in distance before finally coming into skill range.

“Lighty, Kitty!” Lu Li shouted as Moonlight used his damage reduction skills and Charge. Kitty Likes Meat immediately transformed into a tall demon and rushed in. These two meat shields braved the Blue Universe’s ranged attacks and skills. Soon, Ruling Sword had thrust themselves into Blue Universe’s formation. Lu Li and Fat Monkey were looking around for Blue Universe’s Priest, Almond Parfait.

Almond Parfait’s technique was good; she had performed well this season and had been well received by many other celebrities in the industry.

It was a pity that she was taking the same route as March Rain. Her equipment wasn’t as exquisite as March Rain’s, at least with regards to her damage reduction abilities. In the moment she was engaged on, she had already lost quite a bit of HP. Lu Li then started explosively dealing damage with Fat Monkey right next to him, and she also got caught up in Moonlight’s Whirlwind.

This girl couldn’t stand the intensity of such attacks and became a corpse within 47 seconds of the start of the fight.

Blue Universe’s substitute was Lucky. Although he could also perform some healing, his main focus was elemental damage. His healing wasn’t as high as Mu Qiu’s, which meant that Blue Universe was now lacking in a capable healer.

As a result, there wasn’t much suspense for the rest of the match. The battle lasted for a minute or two and Blue Universe was completely destroyed. Ruling Sword hadn’t lost a single player.

This was nothing short of a miracle when considering it was the top 16.

This day was called the end of the Blue Universe. The dark horse had been completed halted just before entering the top 8. Although they hadn’t officially been eliminated, their hopes of promoting had been completely shattered.

Unless they could win the next few games like Ruling Sword had today, they wouldn’t be able to gather enough points to promote.

However, there were a few players within Blue Universe that still felt like fighting despite the fact that it was impossible for them to win no matter who they were matched up against.
