From Folly to Fortune：I Rewrite My Life After Rebirth!

Hearing Yuanbao’s words, Mu Dashan entered the room and began to count his belongings.

As expected, he found that he was missing two taels of silver and saw that the vase was shattered all over the floor.

These two things naturally fell on Xiangxiang’s shoulders.

Mu Dashan thumped his chest and stamped his feet, saying, ”It’s my fault! I shouldn’t have brought this ungrateful wolf into our home. Now that she’s stolen our things, what can we do about it!”

Two taels of silver was not a small amount, Mu Dashan’s expression changed with heartache.

But the money was stolen, what could be done?

Chase after her? At this point, Mu Xiangxiang might have already left the village, even if he wanted to chase her, he wouldn’t catch up.

But doing nothing made Mu Dashan feel distressed.

However, Yu Si Niang wasn’t as pained by it.

Mu Xiangxiang stealing the silver meant that from now on, she and the third branch were enemies, and she wouldn’t come to the third branch anymore.

In this way, it could be considered as saving the third branch from a hassle.

To be honest, Yu Si Niang really had no way with this sister-in-law.

Not a single good word ever came out of her mouth.

Now, Yu Si Niang only wished they would have a good life in the county and never come back.

Mu Xiangxiang stole two taels of silver from the Third Branch of the Mu Family and left the village.

She headed towards the town, tightly clutching her bundle along the way.

Because inside the bundle was the two taels of silver, the only hope for Mu Xiangxiang now, it couldn’t be lost!

Perhaps too happy, Mu Xiangxiang blurted out, ”Hmph, that stupid third brother will only be a country bumpkin for life, but from today, I’m going to live a good life! From now on, I’m severing ties with you poor relatives!”

She would go to the county, where there was good food, beautiful clothes, and... men.

She wouldn’t just stick to one man; she wanted to find someone better than Sun Dali, making the Sun Family regret it.

As Mu Xiangxiang thought about this, her smile grew even brighter.

Mu Xiangxiang entered the town, different from the cautious Mrs. Liu.

Mu Xiangxiang, thinking she had two taels of silver, wanted to have a good meal.

So much so that her steps seemed like they were flying, she wandered around and eventually stopped at Mu Shuangshuang’s Chengfeng Restaurant.

Mu Xiangxiang had only been to Chengfeng Restaurant once, too busy eating to remember its name, so she didn’t recall at all that the restaurant was run by her niece.

”Waiter, bring out all the good food and drinks you have here!” Mu Xiangxiang plopped down on the booth at the edge of the restaurant and bossily directed the shop attendant.

The attendants felt Mu Xiangxiang looked familiar but couldn’t recall who she was, so they went to consult Yu Dahai.

Yu Dahai recognized Mu Xiangxiang at a glance as Mu Shuangshuang’s aunt.

And she wasn’t a good person, so he instructed the attendant Ah Cai.

”Tell her, the restaurant isn’t serving meals right now! Let her eat elsewhere!”

It was Ah Cai’s first time seeing Yu Dahai turn a guest away, but as a shop attendant, he certainly didn’t question the steward’s decision.

So Ah Cai approached Mu Xiangxiang, ”Dear guest, sorry! At this moment, our restaurant’s kitchen isn’t cooking. How about you try somewhere else?”

Ah Cai’s words seemed to trigger Mu Xiangxiang’s temper immediately.

”Your restaurant isn’t serving food? What do you mean? Are you looking down on me? Auntie has plenty of money!” Having said that, she slammed the two taels of silver on the table.

”Do you see this? What is it? Two taels of silver, enough for you rough folks to eat for a year, right?

Let me tell you, this is just a small amount. When I go to the county, I’ll have mountains of gold and silver, you’ll be so envious!”

Mu Xiangxiang was someone who couldn’t keep her mouth shut about anything.

In this short time, not only did she show off her two taels of silver, but she even mentioned that she was going to the county to make a fortune.

At this moment, Chengfeng Restaurant wasn’t completely empty of guests.

A few men drinking noticed Mu Xiangxiang’s words and exchanged glances.

One of the men immediately got up and walked towards the inn’s exit, while the other men remained still, still fixated on the meat and wine before them.

But if one observed closely, they would notice that their attention wasn’t really on the food and drink.

Mu Xiangxiang argued with the attendant Ah Cai for a while, but nothing came of it; instead, she left the restaurant in a huff, seething with anger.

Mu Xiangxiang angrily left Chengfeng Restaurant and started looking for other restaurants in town.

But as she reached a deserted corner, a man grabbed her bundle.

Before Mu Xiangxiang could scream, the man slapped her so hard that she saw stars.

The bundle was snatched away, along with the two taels of silver.

Coming back to her senses, Mu Xiangxiang cried her heart out.

But what could be done?

She hadn’t even seen who robbed her money, just lost it in a daze.

”Boohoo, what am I going to do, how will I get to the county!”

Mu Xiangxiang cried miserably, but this time, there wasn’t a kind-hearted person like Mu Dashan to invite her in.

The man who stole Mu Xiangxiang’s bundle walked openly with it into Chengfeng Restaurant.

Slamming the bundle on the table, the man laughed heartily, ”Guess how much silver is in this smelly girl’s bundle?”

When Mu Xiangxiang was boasting about her wealth, these men had already started harboring ill intentions.

After some discussion, they decided to grab her bundle and the money inside.

Then they planned to split the money among themselves.

”Surely a lot, that smelly girl casually took out two taels of silver!” said one of the men sitting together.

”Why talk so much? Just open it and you’ll know!”

While the men were unwrapping the bundle in the restaurant, on the other side, the attendant Ah Cai quietly informed Yu Dahai about it.

”Owner, I’m sure that’s the girl’s bundle! Although this incident didn’t happen in our restaurant, that girl really wanted to eat here, so we can’t ignore it!” Ah Cai said with a face full of urgency.

Of course, they had to intervene.

Not to mention that she was Shuangshuang’s aunt, just the fact that she almost had a meal at Chengfeng Restaurant meant he couldn’t sit by idly.

”Here’s what we’ll do: go down and stall them. It’s best to tell Chef Wei to add something extra to their food. I’ll find someone to report to the authorities!

We need to address this matter without letting other guests know—can’t let it affect the restaurant’s business!”

Ah Cai nodded firmly, ”Ah Cai understands, I’ll take care of it, don’t worry, steward!”

Ah Cai went downstairs, casually striking up a conversation with the men who had stolen Mu Xiangxiang’s bundle, ”You gentlemen are really lucky. Our restaurant has just chosen you to receive some great treats today, including our signature dishes. Would you like to wait?”

The men nodded repeatedly, ”Yes, we’ll wait!”

Free food, why wouldn’t they wait?
