From Folly to Fortune：I Rewrite My Life After Rebirth!

Chapter 1164: Chapter 1160: We Can’t Let Mu Dade Off Cheaply (Second Update)

Looking in the direction where Lu Yuanfeng left, Mu Shuangshuang smiled helplessly.

Entering the house, Mu Shuangshuang picked up a knife and cleaned the scales off one of the fish.

After some thought, she decided to make fish porridge for breakfast.

She sliced one fish into fillets and then washed the prepared fish fillets clean.

Mu Shuangshuang first squeezed dry the fish fillets, then marinated them with ginger, white wine, salt, and pepper.

Mu Shuangshuang began to wash the rice; the rice for fish porridge also needs special treatment.

The washed rice needs to be marinated with oil for the time it takes to burn two sticks of incense; this way, the cooked porridge will be aromatic.

Over here, Mu Shuangshuang waits for the fish and rice to marinate.

On the other side, Lu Yuanfeng already arrived at Mu Dalang’s house.

Early in the morning, Mu Dalang was already clearing out the pigsty.

Dozens of pigsties’ worth of pig manure needs cleaning, and when it’s time to sell pork, he starts even earlier.

As soon as Lu Yuanfeng arrived, Mu Dalang left the pig manure alone, washed his hands quickly, and hurriedly went out to greet Lu Yuanfeng, afraid to neglect him.

He shouted to Huang Bitao, ”Bitao, stop with the chores, hurry and make breakfast, we’re having Fengzi stay for a meal today.”

Huang Bitao smiled and immediately responded, ”Okay!”

Lu Yuanfeng quickly called out to Huang Bitao. ”Sister-in-law, don’t bother, I’m here to ask if you have pig blood for sale; Xiao Han got injured, and I want to buy some pig blood to help replenish his blood.”

”What? Xiao Han got injured, what happened???” Mu Dalang was a bit anxious.

Lu Yuanfeng didn’t hide anything and just told all the recent happenings with the Old Mu Family.

Including the things Mu Dade did, and the things Mu Danian and Mrs. Lin did, Mu Dalang’s face instantly changed.

Actually, he had been wanting to inquire about the situation at Old Mu Family; a few days ago, Mr. Mu had taken ten pounds of meat from him.

He promised to repay in three days, but it’s been several days and no sign of repayment.

Ten pounds of meat also costs about a hundred copper coins, not much, but not little either.

However, now these are not important; what’s important is his uncle—

Although he was an apprentice in town and returned infrequently.

He was aware of how much the family had invested in Mu Dade.

Now that Mu Dade behaves this way, it’s truly disheartening.

But his mother and fifth uncle also have faults, especially his fifth uncle, for falsely accusing Xiao Han; it’s just not fair!

”Fengzi, I don’t have pig blood, I don’t butcher pigs today, but I’ll be helping a family butcher pigs this afternoon, so I’ll bring some pig blood to deliver to the third uncle’s house then.” Mu Dalang said.

Lu Yuanfeng nodded.

”Thank you then, I still have things to do, so I’ll head back now!” Lu Yuanfeng said.

”Hold on, I better go with you; Xiao Han’s injury could be serious!” Mu Dalang was not at ease.

After speaking, he called into the house to the person preparing breakfast, ”Bitao, tidy up, let’s change clothes and head to the third uncle’s house!”

Soon, the three of them went to Mu Shuangshuang’s house.

By the time they arrived, Mu Shuangshuang’s porridge was ready.

The fragrance of fish porridge spread far, and the three of them could smell it even outside the yard.

In the courtyard, the whole family of the third branch gathered around a table, looking expectantly.

Turns out, Mu Shuangshuang set the dining table in the courtyard, saying there was a cool breeze in the morning, and eating porridge wouldn’t feel hot.

Mu Dalang’s first reaction was to check on Xiao Han.

Overnight, Xiao Han’s face had reduced swelling, but the red marks were still visible.

His forehead was wrapped in bandages, with faint traces of red blood visible.

”Xiao Han, you’ve suffered.” Mu Dalang said.

Xiao Han shook his head, ”It’s nothing, thanks, Big Cousin, I don’t hurt!”

Mu Dashan saw Mu Dalang and Huang Bitao, quickly stood up and greeted them.

Mu Shuangshuang happened to come out from the kitchen, holding a basin filled with cooked fish porridge.

Seeing two more people in the courtyard, she instantly understood what it was all about.

”You’ve come just in time, freshly cooked fish porridge, the flavor is especially good.

Big Cousin, Cousin-in-law, you’re in for a treat today!”

No one mentioned the nasty affairs of the Old Mu Family; it’s already hard for the whole family to gather, and they can’t let those scoundrels ruin their mood.

They happily drank fish porridge and chatted for a while.

Mu Dalang called Mu Shuangshuang aside and inquired how the matter should be handled.

True to herself, Mu Shuangshuang said, ”I don’t know what exactly to do, we have to see when grandpa wakes up!”

Even though Mu Shuangshuang had taken action, it wasn’t the solution she wanted.

The things Mu Dade and Mu Danian did are far from over.

Additionally, Mrs. Lin’s slandering Xiao Han’s reputation need to be discussed with Mr. Mu when he wakes up.

”Grandpa wakes up? What happened to him?” Mu Dalang was a bit bewildered.

In the morning, he indeed heard quite a lot from Fengzi, but it wasn’t comprehensive, plus Lu Yuanfeng isn’t someone who enjoys gossip, what he said was what he saw.

”Grandpa’s sick, infuriated by my uncle! You know, all his life he waited for uncle to bring him a good life.

In the end, uncle simply didn’t want to include them, and my grandma still protects uncle. You know how crazy she gets; this anger made him sick!”

These matters, Mu Shuangshuang wasn’t involved in either, they were told by Mu Dashan.

Mu Shuangshuang suspected Mr. Mu might have some heart issues.

But even if she said this, those people might not understand, so she simply pretended not to know.

”Ah, my grandpa in his life also suffered because of my uncle, but... it might sound harsh, but it’s deserved!”

Mr. Mu spent so much effort on Mu Dade in his life?

Spent so much money?

A capital, a hundred silver taels, how many scholars can’t even enjoy that?

If these silver taels had been kept, who knows what shape the Old Mu Family would be in now!

Mu Dalang was indeed honest, hearing this, Mu Shuangshuang smiled.

”But it’s troublesome if grandpa is sick, I think uncle probably won’t take them to the county anymore.” Mu Dalang had seen through the people of the Old Mu Family, so he dared to say anything and dared to think anything.

Mu Shuangshuang nodded.

”I suppose so, but this is grandpa’s choice, can’t blame anyone else!”

Mu Dalang then mentioned Mr. Mu coming to his place to buy meat on credit to Mu Shuangshuang.

Originally contemplating letting it go, he suddenly realized when he spoke about it.

He must ask for the money!

If he doesn’t, his grandpa won’t benefit, rather it’s his uncle who can save another sum of silver.

”Shuangshuang, I’ll first go ask uncle for money, and take a look at his true colors!”

Mu Dalang finished speaking and directly headed towards the Old Mu Family.
