Ancient Dragon Elephant Technique

Chapter 770: Chapter 2 “The Way of Me

The night was cool.

It was already deep into the night.

Lin Feng sat cross-legged at the summit of a mountain.

He looked at the bright moon, contemplating his own “Dao.”

Dao.

It was important.

What is Dao?

Simply put, it is one’s own path.

It involves comprehending the Heavenly Dao and finding a path suitable for oneself within it.

Ancient Great Emperor.

Succeeded in proving the Dao.

Only then could one break the shackles of the Divine Spirit Realm and become a strong figure in the Emperor Realm.

But many fail on their own “Dao.”

They eventually perish and vanish into the long river of history.

Ordinary cultivators, if they have no ambition to become a Great Emperor, naturally do not need to establish their own Dao.

Following the Dao of others and cultivating accordingly, perhaps one could also become a strong figure in one area.

But such a person is doomed never to become a “Divine Spirit” or “Great Emperor.”

Lin Feng bore the heavy responsibility of finding his clansmen and rescuing his mother.

He had to prove Dao and become an “Emperor.”

Perhaps only then could he successfully find his clansmen and save his mother in the future.

Thus, understanding his own “Dao” was too important for Lin Feng.

“Dao, what exactly is my Dao?”

Lin Feng muttered to himself.

The Ancient Dragon Elephant Technique is the Dao of the Ancient Dragon Elephant.

The Domineering Heaven Thunder Technique is the Dao of the Ancient Thunder God.

…

What Lin Feng needed was his own Dao.

He needed to establish his “Dao” as the core.

And all the Divine Skills he cultivated,

whether it be the Ancient Dragon Elephant Technique, the Domineering Heaven Thunder Technique, or the Five Emperors Dragon Fist,

all must revolve around his own “Dao.”

…

However,

how difficult was it to comprehend one’s “Dao”?

Even Lin Feng, with his strong comprehension, could not understand it for a long time.

“Dao originates from the heart.”

At that moment, a voice sounded.

A middle-aged man approached.

Lin Feng looked up

and was surprised to see Que Butian, the Peak Master of Heavenly Repair Peak.

He quickly stood up and performed a salute to Que Butian.

“Please, sit down,” Que Butian said with a slight smile.

Lin Feng knew that Que Butian had a severe health issue,

not curable by medicine or stone.

Therefore, Que Butian had left Azure Cloud Sect to travel, and it had been nearly three years since he left.

Seeing Que Butian return, Lin Feng felt genuinely happy inside.

“Elder, has your health improved?” Lin Feng asked.

Que Butian sat down across from him.

He smiled slightly and said, “Don’t worry, it has healed.”

“That is truly fortunate.”

Lin Feng’s expression was filled with joy.

Que Butian was like an affectionate elder.

Naturally, he hoped for Que Butian to be restored to his original state.

…

“Your cultivation has improved rapidly, but you need to properly settle it down now.”

Pausing for a moment, Que Butian continued, “The path of cultivation requires a step-by-step approach and a steady effort. Only in this way can the foundation be solid. Just like a great hall starts from the foundation, if the foundation is unstable, no matter how high or magnificent the hall is built, it is but a fleeting cloud, flashy without substance, and it can easily collapse. Cultivation is the same; without a stable foundation, significant achievements are ultimately difficult to attain.”

Que Butian’s words were clearly a reminder to Lin Feng.

Now, he needed to solidify his cultivation instead of rushing to breakthrough further.

“Disciple will keep this in mind.”

Lin Feng solemnly spoke.

Que Butian, like a senior, instructed earnestly with good intentions.

Que Butian then asked, “Have you comprehended your own Dao?”

“Disciple is dull; over the years, disciple has always wanted to establish his own Dao but has not made any progress.”

Lin Feng said.

“You are not dull, just too obsessed.” Que Butian said, and then Que Butian asked, “What do you cultivate for?”

Lin Feng answered, “I bear responsibilities, with my family’s enmity, searching for abducted relatives, trying to rescue my mother.”

Que Butian said, “Dao centers on ‘self;’ this is your own ‘Dao,’ referred to by cultivators as ‘Dao-self.’ After a cultivator shapes the ‘Dao-self,’ all cultivation will revolve around ‘Dao-self.’ You haven’t been able to shape your own Dao because your cultivation isn’t for yourself but for others.”

“But if cultivating through all worlds is only for oneself, abandoning relatives, friends, and lovers—as unbeatable as one may become, what then? Ultimately, one is alone.”

Lin Feng said.

Que Butian slightly smiled, “This is the difference between ‘Dao-self’ and ‘responsibility.’ You cultivate because you take on too many responsibilities, thus you cannot form your own Dao. Now, what you need to do is differentiate ‘Dao-self’ from ‘responsibility.’”

Lin Feng deeply pondered these words from Que Butian.

Que Butian continued, “Between the heaven and earth, all living beings, different lives have different experiences—this is the meaning of ‘self.’ It represents the different beings of all heavens and myriad realms, and it represents you yourself. Dao is the Great Dao of Heaven and Earth; Dao-self is the Dao you should walk.”

“And responsibility, it’s the affair you must fulfill. Shape ‘Dao-self,’ constantly strengthen your cultivation, and then you can fulfill ‘responsibility.’ Ponder that well.”

Lin Feng sat in his place, utterly lost in thought.

He was comprehending these words from Que Butian.

“My responsibilities are to find my clan members, rescue my mother, return to East County Divine Land to avenge my relatives. That’s my motivation for cultivation, but it is not the Dao.”

“The real Dao centers on myself—it turns out; I understand now.”

Lin Feng’s eyes began to brighten.

He vaguely started to understand what ‘Dao-self’ and ‘responsibility’ were.

Lin Feng closed his eyes.

He savored the epiphany in his heart.

“Dao; what kind of Dao should I shape?”

“Shape Dao-self, walk my own Dao, make myself increasingly powerful—who will be the peak at the end of the Divine Path? Since I am to establish a Dao, I should establish the most powerful one. I aspire to reach the summit and look down on all other peaks. In the path of Divinity, I am supreme, and thus I will forge the Supreme Dao.”

Lin Feng’s will grew increasingly steadfast.

His understanding of Dao-self also grew more lucid.

Within Lin Feng’s Dantian, a mysterious small path vaguely seemed to appear.

In the endless darkness.

The small path emitted a faint light.

That was Lin Feng’s “Dao-self.”

Following that small path.

No one knew where it would lead.

Perhaps to a tremendous cliff.

Perhaps to a great road.

Along this great road attain Divine Spirits.

Attain Great Emperors!

…

“Supreme Dao.”

Lin Feng murmured.

With the Supreme Dao, he concentrated the Divine Skills that belonged to him.

Every kind of Dao-self could shape its own Divine Skills.

Just like the Ancient Dragon Elephant creating the Ancient Dragon Elephant Technique.

In Lin Feng’s Dantian, a shadow faintly seemed to condense.

It appeared to be the shadow of a fist.

When the shadow of the fist appeared.

Ancient Dragon Elephant Illusion, Thunder God’s Illusion, Five Emperors’ Illusion, True Dragon Emperor Illusion—all emerged one by one in Lin Feng’s Dantian; they each had their own Dao.

The most exalted Dao.

Now, these illusions surrounded the illusory shadow of the fist.

The illusory fist shadow transformed into Lin Feng’s image.

Lin Feng’s illusion sat cross-legged.

And the Ancient Dragon Elephant Illusion, Thunder God’s Illusion, and others all gathered around Lin Feng’s illusion.

All the Daos honored Lin Feng’s “Dao-self.”

Supreme Dao.

Lin Feng finally shaped his own Dao.

Only by establishing one’s own Dao could one possibly glimpse Divine Spirits and even Great Emperors in the future.

And now, Lin Feng finally had such qualifications.

As for whether Lin Feng could become a Divine Spirit in the future,

Or even an unrivaled Great Emperor,

It would depend on the opportunities and Creation to come.
