Chapter 385: Chapter 37 Mad Demon

”Whoosh whoosh whoosh...” Several figures bolted over in quick succession.

Eight people in total.

The cultivator who had just made a move was a middle-aged man, his gaze dark as he looked at Lin Feng, his eyes glinting with a dreadful killing intent.

”Not good, Wu Fan is dead, we have no way of explaining to the Seventh Elder!” a woman said with an ugly expression on her face.

”It’s all because of you, brat! How dare you kill a member of Sky Gazing Sect, you deserve to die.” Another cultivator with a face full of meat bellowed in rage, his eyes flashing fiercely.

The Sky Gazing Sect was by nature a faction that straddled both the righteous and the wicked paths. This sect was extremely ostentatious and ruthless in its conduct. In past years, when a disciple of the sect suffered at the hands of a disciple from another sect, Sky Gazing Sect took action, annihilating over three thousand members of that sect, from the Sect Master down to the lowliest servant, leaving none alive. The incident had once caused a huge stir across East County Divine Land, but the strength of the Sect Master of Sky Gazing Sect was too formidable, and since he had also participated in the battle against Soul Devouring Hall that same year, the matter was left unsettled.

As the saying goes, one can glimpse the leopard by observing its spots.

Often, the conduct or the style of a sect can be inferred from a single affair.

Clearly, Sky Gazing Sect was that kind of ruthless and reckless sect.

Lin Feng’s expression remained indifferent as he said, ”What now? Sky Gazing Sect’s people are allowed to kill me, but I’m not allowed to kill yours? What a ridiculous and stupid statement. If you don’t have the strength, whose fault is it if you seek death?”

”Youngster, since you too recognize that the strong prevails, if we kill you, you can only blame your own lack of strength.” The middle-aged cultivator who had attacked Lin Feng sneered coldly, and charged directly toward Lin Feng.

”I’m afraid you don’t have the strength to kill me.”

Lin Feng sneered. Even when confronted by a group of powerful foes, he remained composed.

Using the Domineering Heaven Thunder Technique, he conjured a dense mass of thunder and hurled it towards the cave.

Boom, boom, boom...

A large section of the cave collapsed.

The falling rocks immediately blocked the passage.

Lin Feng turned and bolted toward the distance.

”Damn it!” The middle-aged cultivator cursed and quickly blasted open the passage, chasing after Lin Feng at high speed, but Lin Feng had already vanished without a trace.

Lin Feng fled into the depths, where the pathways were complex, intertwining and extending in all directions. After taking more than a dozen side passages, he finally stopped, feeling confident that he had shaken off the people from Sky Gazing Sect.

Lin Feng contemplated whether to refine the Fiery Fruit directly or to turn it into an elixir. The ”Fiery Pill” was a Dark Stage Elixir, which he felt he couldn’t quite produce yet, and it would require some time to attempt it.

Eventually, Lin Feng decided to keep the Fiery Fruit for future refinement into a Fiery Pill. Such a rare treasure was a pity to consume directly, for even though it could increase his cultivation, it would truly be a waste.

”Boom,” not long after, a terrifying aura emanated from the depths of the cave.

There were also about a dozen cultivators up ahead.

Everyone looked towards the depths of the cave, puzzled, not knowing what had happened.

”Get out of the way, all of you get out of the way, don’t block me!” A roaring voice came through, and a cultivator ran out quickly.

Upon seeing the cultivator, Lin Feng’s face changed dramatically—it was the ”Green Robe Elder,” that Old Demon, a formidable being of the Yin Yang Realm. What could have frightened the Green Robe Elder to such an extent?

Lin Feng quickly hid himself in one of the passages. The Green Robe Elder, his face pale with fright, ran towards the distance. Soon after, a man wearing a black robe, his hair in disarray, emerged, rushing out.

”Kill, kill, kill...”

The hoarse voice of the man echoed out like a nocturnal beast howling into the night.

”Who goes there?” The dozen cultivators ahead called out in shock.

The madman-like figure emitted a terrifying black aura, clearly a powerful practitioner of the Demon Dao. He grabbed a cultivator by the neck and bit down hard.

”Ahh!” A piercing scream rang out as the cultivator died a gruesome death.

”Kill him,” the remaining cultivators roared in outrage as they saw their comrade fall. They charged toward the ”Mad Demon.”

Various attacks launched at the Mad Demon, with some even summoning their magic weapons to bombard him.

But the Mad Demon reached out with his left hand and tore through the void.

Crack crack...

All the magic weapons were destroyed.

Splat splat!

A series of rending sounds followed, as each of the dozen cultivators’ chests were punctured with a blood hole. It was a mystery what method the Mad Demon employed, but they all perished on the spot.

Witnessing this scene, Lin Feng’s scalp tingled. No wonder the green-robed Old Demon had fled in such a pitiful state. The Mad Demon’s strength was truly terrifying. Lin Feng quickly avoided the Mad Demon and headed down another tunnel. Two hours later, Lin Feng saw a figure ahead, with disheveled hair and back turned to him.

”Mad Demon.” Upon seeing this figure, Lin Feng’s expression changed drastically. It was that terrifying being. Without a second thought, he turned and ran. If caught by him, there would only be one path—death.

”Kill, kill, kill...”

The Mad Demon turned, emitting a sinister and icy cold voice, then rapidly pursued Lin Feng. The Mad Demon’s speed was extremely fast; despite Lin Feng’s swift pace, he was still far slower in comparison, and the gap between them was closing steadily.

”Damn it, struck with such bad luck to encounter this God of Slaughter.”

Lin Feng felt an overwhelming frustration that nearly made him spit blood.

The Mad Demon chased after him relentlessly, emanating an aura so terrifying that it sent shivers down Lin Feng’s soul. This was undoubtedly a presence too fearsome to imagine, unclear if it had entered from outside the Ancient God Demon Battlefield or was a native to it.

Given that the Ancient God Demon Battlefield opened once every hundred years, it was certain that many had failed to leave in time and were trapped within. If confined here for a long time, indeed, horrible things could happen to drive a person mad. Lin Feng’s complexion grew uglier as the Mad Demon closed the distance to just a dozen meters away—soon, he would be caught.

”Boy, your time to die has come.”

Just then, a group of about a dozen people from the Sky Gazing Sect emerged ahead. Blocked in the front and pursued from behind, Lin Feng saw a side passage eight meters away and sped up, darting in, as the Mad Demon encountered the group from the Sky Gazing Sect.

”Get lost, don’t block our way.” The group from the Sky Gazing Sect was domineering and assertive. Unaware of how truly terrifying the Mad Demon was and mistaking him for a mere insane cultivator, they showed no courtesy. When the Mad Demon did not respond, a master from the Sky Gazing Sect launched a flying sword to slash at him.

”Kill, kill, kill.”

The Mad Demon let out a ghastly voice, grabbed the flying sword, and bit down.

Crunch—the exceedingly hard flying sword was bitten in half by the Mad Demon.

This sight was far too dreadful; the Mad Demon was utterly monstrous. Even the arrogant Sky Gazing Sect members, upon witnessing this, were scared out of their wits, turning tail to flee. But the Mad Demon swiped down.

Splat splat... instantly, five or six members of the Sky Gazing Sect were slain outright by the Mad Demon. A few others managed to escape in utter disarray, but the Mad Demon grabbed the body of the one who had attacked him with the flying sword, bit through his neck, and began to devour the cultivator’s flesh and blood raw.
