Chapter 339: Chapter 22 Coward Lin Feng?

The triennial Mountain River List ranking competition had finally begun, and the entire Azure Dragon Academy buzzed with unprecedented excitement.

The Mountain River List ranking competition adopted two methods.

The first method was a single round-robin elimination system.

Since the Azure Dragon Academy had over a hundred thousand students, there were too many participants, while the Mountain River List had only “three hundred seats.”

Therefore, only those students who had accumulated “a thousand points” were qualified to challenge the “older students” on the Mountain River List.

Defeating an opponent would add five points to one’s score.

In addition, students on the Mountain River List could also challenge those ranked above them; if they could defeat their opponents, they would take over their rank, while the defeated would automatically fall one rank back.

Generally, one would only issue a challenge if one had great confidence in oneself.

Because everyone on the Mountain River List was a master, if the challenger failed and was injured, it could give other students an opportunity to take advantage.

Imagine being injured yourself; surely those masters outside the Mountain River List would come challenging you to take your place; at that time, being defeated would be highly probable.

Just before the start of the Mountain River List competition, Blood Dragon appeared in the plaza and ascended the main platform, his voice coldly announcing, “Where is Lin Feng? You challenged me a month ago, and now that I am here, you can come out!”

Many were also waiting for the battle between Lin Feng and Blood Dragon, initially thinking that this fight would take place in the last phase of the Mountain River List ranking competition. Unexpectedly, Blood Dragon was so eager to confront Lin Feng.

The vast plaza erupted into a deafening roar from the tens of thousands present.

One was the president of the Blood Dragon Association, the top-ranked student on the Mountain River List.

The other was the Sect Leader of the Dragon Sect, the rising star of the Azure Dragon Academy.

This matchup was truly the center of attention.

Moreover, the clash was set to happen before the commencement of the Mountain River List competition.

This made many feel an overwhelming rush of excitement.

“Where is Lin Feng? Hurry up and roll over to your death?” Blood Dragon called out a second time, his voice ice-cold, filled with contempt for Lin Feng.

But Lin Feng still did not show up.

“Could it be that Lin Feng is too afraid to fight?”

“Well, that’s actually possible. Have you heard about what happened a month ago?”

“What happened?”

“The incident between Lin Feng and Blood Dragon, many saw it. Blood Dragon indeed proved to be too strong, overpowering Lin Feng. Lin Feng must have felt humiliated and, in a fit of anger, challenged Blood Dragon. Now that he’s calmed down, he probably knows he’s no match for Blood Dragon, hence the no-show out of fear.”

“Now that you mention it, it does seem quite possible. After all, in the heat of the moment, one can do anything. It’s only afterwards that one realizes just how irrational their impulsive actions were. Blood Dragon is too strong; Lin Feng surely knows he can’t compete, so he simply chose not to appear.”

Many people were discussing fervently.

“Look, the people from the Dragon Sect are over there, and indeed Lin Feng is not among them. It seems that Lin Feng is indeed too afraid of Blood Dragon to show up.”

Some students pointed towards where Long Shiyou, Xiao Yafei, Wang Kun, and others were standing.

Long Shiyou and the others naturally refused to believe that Lin Feng would back down at the last minute.

“The Sect Leader has been gone for a month now, he said he would return before the great battle, why hasn’t he come back yet? Could something have happened to him?” Wang Kun said, somewhat worried.

“With the Sect Leader’s ability, he shouldn’t have encountered any trouble. He went into the Wilderness Jungle for training, and it’s difficult to predict the exact time of his return. It’s not surprising he’s a few days late!” Long Shiyou assured.

At that moment, Blood Dragon’s voice rang out again, “To challenge me and then lack the courage to show up when the battle arrives is truly laughable. From now on, when you see me, you’d better take a detour.”

Blood Dragon was extremely haughty, his sneering laugh echoing above the plaza.

“Damn it, I really want to go up there and teach that guy a lesson,” Wang Kun said, his expression darkening.

Long Shiyou said, “Wait for the Sect Leader to arrive, will this person still be so arrogant?”

Wang Kun also knew he was no match for the Blood Dragon, approaching would only bring humiliation upon himself. He nodded, joining everyone in waiting for Lin Feng’s return.

“Could it be that Lin Feng is really afraid?” someone from the Rain Tower muttered.

Zhou Xiyu turned to Zhou Yingying and asked, “Younger Sister, you’ve interacted with this Lin Feng before, what do you think of him?”

Zhou Yingying pondered for a moment before replying, “I think he’s a man of integrity! He doesn’t seem like someone who would retreat in the face of battle.”

Zhou Xiyu nodded and said, “Someone who could establish the Dragon Sect in such a short time and stand against the Five Major Old Forces—how could such a person be simple?”

Snow Pavilion!

Liu Fengxue, Leng Qiushuang, Xue Youlan, and other high-ranking members of the Snow Pavilion were all present.

Xue Youlan said, “Lin Feng wouldn’t really be too scared to come, right?”

Leng Qiushuang frowned slightly and replied, “I’m not sure! However, I feel that Lin Feng will definitely make an appearance.”

Liu Fengxue gave a slight smile and commented, “Lin Feng is someone I can’t see through. Let’s just wait and enjoy the show.”

In the meantime, the upper echelon of the Mad Tiger Gang, Thunder Cloud Sect, and other student factions, including many teachers, deacons, and elders of the Azure Dragon Academy, were all discussing the matter.

Everyone was debating whether Lin Feng had been delayed by something or was indeed too scared to accept the challenge.

There were various opinions.

At this moment, the members of the Blood Dragon Association were all feeling quite smug.

“What’s Lin Feng? To compete with our leader? He’s simply overestimating himself!”

“That’s right! Now he’s too scared to show up, probably hiding somewhere, afraid to reveal himself.”

“Haha, what a coward! He doesn’t even qualify to carry shoes for our leader!”

Those from the Blood Dragon Association jeered and scoffed.

“Son of a bitch! What are you saying?” Dragon Sect’s students naturally wouldn’t put up with this, and instantly a quarrel erupted.

It almost seemed like swords were drawn and a major battle was about to unfold.

“Where is Lin Feng? Where is Lin Feng? Where is Lin Feng?”

Blood Dragon stood atop the arena and sent out three consecutive shouts that were earth-shattering!!

“Still no show, he must be scared.”

“Jeez! He must be regretting challenging the Blood Dragon now.”

Some students said, curling their lips disdainfully.

Blood Dragon, with a cruel expression on his face, shouted loudly, “Lin Feng? Too afraid to fight? I had actually thought too highly of you, you coward! You don’t even have the qualifications to face me, Blood Dragon!”

Blood Dragon stood aloft on the arena, supremely arrogant, his eyes cold as blades, and everyone could feel Blood Dragon’s air of superiority over everything.

Indeed, Blood Dragon was powerful, enough to look down on any student of the Azure Dragon Academy.

“Blood Dragon! Are you so impatient? You’ve truly lowered my opinion of you!”

Just as Blood Dragon’s voice fell, a sudden voice echoed out.

All eyes turned towards the distance.

Seeing that figure, Blood Dragon’s face revealed a trace of grimness.

Thousands of meters away, a figure was ricocheting swiftly across towering buildings. With each bound, he cleared hundreds of meters. The distance of several thousand meters was closed in just a few breaths as the young man landed on the arena, only a dozen meters away from Blood Dragon. An aura of dread immediately burst forth from the young man.

“Finally here to meet your death?” Blood Dragon sneered.

“Blood Dragon! You are too conceited. Today, I will trample you underfoot and show you just how ignorant and ridiculous you are!”

The young man stepped forward, his aura growing increasingly fearsome as he advanced towards Blood Dragon.

“The Sect Leader is back…” Long Shiyou and others called out joyously.
