I Sell Mobile Phones Like a Swindler, and Customers Beg Me Not to Go Out of Business

73: Chapter 73 Having confidence is a good thingThe Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, Zhan Ruijie, then asked: ”So, Xiao Xue, does Li Xiang Technology currently have any heavy hitters in your hands? Or rather, what kind of technology do you intend to use to participate in this World Mobile Communication Congress? Do you have any ideas in mind right now? You can give us a heads-up first.”

”That’s right, you can give us a heads-up first.”

The three ministers looked at Xue Haixin with great anticipation. Xue Haixin felt flattered and nodded repeatedly: ”Of course we do. Ministers, our Li Xiang Phone products have currently iterated to the ideal a9. However, the ideal a9 phone has not yet been released, and our ideal a8 Pro has just been launched. So this time, I plan to take the ideal a9—oh, and of course, some other technologies—to participate in the World Mobile Communication Congress and win a few awards back for the country.”

The ministers nodded one after another.

Zhan Ruijie continued to ask: ”Then regarding this ideal a9, what exactly is advanced about it? Or why do you think it will be able to win an award?”

Xue Haixin nodded and continued: ”Let me introduce the advanced features of the ideal a9 phone to everyone. First of all, our ideal a9 uses a brand-new processor, the li xiang 6 series processor. This is an eight-core 64-bit processor, equipped with a brand-new architecture design, which has greatly improved the processor’s performance. Besides that, it also has...”

Xue Haixin explained in great detail, knowing every specification of the phone like the back of his hand, and spoke with great pride. It was evident that he was very confident in this phone. It took him nearly 10 minutes to finish rattling off all the specifications of the phone.

The three leaders nodded one by one, regardless of whether they understood what Xue Haixin was talking about. In fact, they didn’t really understand, but listening to Xue Haixin, it seemed like it was very impressive.

Xue Haixin had given countless product launch presentations; his greatest skill was bragging, so he had the three leaders completely bewildered.

Finally, he finished introducing the ideal a9 phone. The three leaders didn’t speak, forgetting to even smoke the cigarettes held in their hands. Amidst the curling wisps of smoke, the ministers’ gazes were fixed on empty space, as if they were pondering something.

After a long while, the Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, Zhan Ruijie, nodded: ”It seems quite impressive, but to be honest, we don’t really understand what you’re saying. We are not experts. But as long as you have confidence, that’s good; it certainly sounds very impressive the way you put it! And this ideal a8, I have actually heard of it! Do you two know about it?”

Zhan Ruijie turned his head to ask the other two ministers.

Seeing that the other two ministers also looked bewildered, Zhan Ruijie continued quite proudly: ”I heard that this ideal a8 processor is currently the strongest mobile phone processor on the market! I feel very proud that our country can have such an awesome enterprise!”

Xue Haixin couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow upon hearing this. What ideal a8 processor? What strongest mobile phone processor on the market? Isn’t our ideal a8 a phone? However, he quickly realized that this so-called ideal a8 processor must be the one used in the Apple 6 Plus; Apple had indeed claimed that the A8 processor was the strongest processor on the planet at the time. So Minister Zhan had mistaken the ideal a8 phone for that Apple processor!

In fact, when Li Xiang Technology chose this naming scheme, it was to ride on Apple’s popularity. To put it bluntly, it was to fool the public, making it difficult for ordinary people to distinguish, so they would just buy it in a daze. Of course, he didn’t dare tell the leaders this, so he just said: ”Minister Zhan, our ideal a8 uses the li xiang 6 series processor, so we wouldn’t dare claim it’s the strongest processor on the market. Although it’s not the strongest processor on the market, it can still go toe-to-toe with the strongest ones.”

When saying this, Xue Haixin’s eyelids twitched. He felt a bit embarrassed saying this, as if the li xiang 6 series processor couldn’t even outperform a knock-off xiaomi phone. However, in front of the minister, he naturally had to do his best to hype up his company’s products.

Minister Zhan nodded: ”I don’t care about all that. I see so many mobile technology manufacturers in the country, and only Li Xiang Technology shows any promise. What do you think?”

The remaining two ministers nodded one after another. Although they were involved in technology or the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, they were not very familiar with the phones from each manufacturer. Therefore, Xue Haixin’s high-intensity output just now had left them a bit bewildered.

Zhan Ruijie nodded: ”Xiao Xue, are you confident about bringing back a gold award?”

Xue Haixin answered without hesitation: ”Absolutely!”

The ministers were very satisfied; Xue Haixin’s confidence meant that Li Xiang Technology behind him was very confident. They felt that winning an award at the World Mobile Communication Congress this time should be quite easy. As long as there is one award, the loss won’t look too ugly. After all, although Long Country is not yet a technological powerhouse, it is considered a major technological nation. For such a large country to participate in the World Mobile Communication Congress for the first time and not win a single award would be laughable. And seeing Xue Haixin’s performance today, they had gained a bit of confidence in Li Xiang Technology winning an award.

Minister of the Ministry of Commerce Zhan Ruijie, holding his cigarette with great satisfaction, pointed at Xue Haixin: ”Look at this! Look at this! Xiao Xue is just that confident, or rather, our Li Xiang Technology is just that confident! Now I feel it’s in the bag! We do have some very awesome mobile phone manufacturers in our country. Take that mobile company, for instance; I don’t think they are very reliable. They haven’t even popularized 4G networks yet, most cities don’t even have 4G mobile signal towers, yet the mobile company has already started working on 5G, saying they want to take 5G to participate in this World Mobile Communication Congress—isn’t that a joke! In my opinion, if Long Country can win an award at this congress, it should be Li Xiang Technology.”

Zhan Ruijie was the Minister of the Ministry of Commerce and was a complete layman when it came to mobile communications, so he was speaking without much thought at the moment. However, the two ministers beside him had no intention of undermining him; it was a good thing that Li Xiang Technology had confidence. Anyway, they had done what they could, so it would depend on the performance of these manufacturers at the World Mobile Communication Congress.

As for this mobilization meeting, Bai Jingqing certainly didn’t know about it, nor did he have the opportunity to attend. Up to now, the sales of the xiaomi phone were still quite good, with total sales likely reaching tens of thousands. But compared to Li Xiang Phone, where a single phone could easily ship one or two million units, it was still a far cry. Moreover, the xiaomi phone was considered obscure to officials. Ordinary people hadn’t even really heard of the xiaomi phone, so how could you expect a government employee who sat in an office drinking tea and writing files all day to know about it?
