Lackey's Seducing Survival Odyssey

Chapter 1212: Current Pseudo Owner of the Eternal Contract is terminated.

”Arrrrrhhh!!”

”Help us!!”

”NOO!!! HUSBAND STOP!”

The screams of the ghosts ripped through the battlefield, their wails echoing into the sky as Aether’s rope lashed mercilessly. One after another, they were flung into the air, whipped apart like straw dummies, their bodies scattering as though they were weightless.

Who the heck kept calling him Husband, though?

Nightfire turned slightly, stealing a glance back. Her eyes widened as she caught sight of Aether’s movements... his hands gripping the rope, his body shifting with practised rhythm.

”...”

She stared blankly at him, unable to blink. That whipping... the way he controlled the rope... every flick of his wrist was precise, almost artistic.

He wasn’t just swinging. He was dominating them.

Could he... really do that? Could he always fight like this?

Nightfire gulped as her legs trembled, thinking something... so wrong in the dangerous situation.

’FOCUS ON THE MISSION!!’

Ashara’s voice cracked like thunder inside her head, snapping her out of her haze. Nightfire’s face flushed, and she shook herself violently before turning away.

She forced her eyes forward.... only to realise a ghost was standing right in front of her, staring at her with a deep frown.

”What are you doing here?” the ghost asked with a suspicious tone.

”Hah... Ha... I-I was... I...” Nightfire stammered, her body trembling as her eyes bulged wide. Panic tangled her words until she blurted out,

”I am ghost~ Whooo~!”

She wasn’t even sure if she was acting... or if she was actually crying.... Maybe both?

The ghost narrowed its hollow eyes at her, studying her awkward form for a long, silent moment. Then, with a sigh, it rubbed its spectral beard. ”If you’re scared of fighting, then go back. Leave it to the elders.”

Nightfire blinked in shock—then quickly plastered on a grateful smile. ”Thank you so much!” she chirped, before slipping past him and happily moving deeper into the horde.

The ghost shook its head with disappointment. That girl won’t last long in this harsh world, he thought, before turning his focus back to Aether.

Meanwhile, Aether’s rope whistled through the air again, cutting a violent arc. The lash cracked down with bone-rattling force, sending another wave of ghots flying like ragdolls. Their arrows were struck mid-flight and shattered, their ghostly weapons diverted as if caught in a storm.

Even though this was his first time fighting with the rope, Aether couldn’t deny the thrill flooding his veins.

The weapon wasn’t just working... it was exhilarating. Each crack, each pull, sent a dangerous shiver of excitement through his chest.

It reminded him... of those simulations he once toyed with.

BDSM.

Left. Right. Yank with minimal force. Twist the wrist, snap, then pull harder at just the right moment.

Every motion determined the outcome. The tension in the rope, the distance of the swing, the angle of the snap... all of it calculated, all of it thrilling.

Why did he play BDSM simulations in the first place?

... Let’s not talk about that. Everyone has their curiosities, their odd little vices. Nothing wrong with that, right?

And it’s not like he was into it. He was just curious... Just curious.

Believe him!

Starla, however, was not amused. She watched his movements with growing frustration. His fluidity, his rhythm, his control... it grated on her. With a sharp groan, she lifted her swords and brought them down in a furious slash.

Aether dodged the sword as his rope snapped forward. The lash tore through the air toward Starla—

But she tilted her head ever so slightly, as the rope snapped at her side.

She tilted her massive sword, the steel groaning with weight, before swinging again. This time her strikes came with even greater force—cutting through the air from every side, her weapon moving at an insane speed that blurred before his eyes.

Aether reacted instantly, snapping his arms wide. The rope surged forward, stretching and shimmering like a shield of violet light.

TUCK!!

TUCK!!

TUCK!!

TUCK!!

Each strike slammed against the rope, sparks and purple flashes bursting as the blade was halted again and again.

The rope held strong even under the monstrous weight of her weapon.

”A strong rope, I see,” Starla muttered darkly, her boots grinding into the dirt as she stepped back, her body tensing to gather more strength.

”Starla, we could still talk about this...” Aether called out... Yet her ears refused his plea. She lunged forward again, her weapon cleaving toward him in another relentless assault.

Aether’s lips twitched... Then an idea struck.

Instead of lashing the rope directly at her, he flicked it outward. The rope coiled viciously around the neck of a nearby ghost. With a violent tug, he reeled it in like a fisherman yanking his catch.

”Noooooo~”

The ghost screeched as it shot forward, and with a final twist of his wrist, Aether hurled it into Starla’s face.

THUD!

Starla staggered back with a groan, her footing slipping for just a second. Her glare snapped back to him, her frown deepening into a scowl. ”Fight me like a man!!”

Aether shrugged, smirking. ”I ain’t falling for that bait!”

He swung the rope again, catching another ghost and flinging it toward her. Starla snarled, but her blade hesitated. She was holding back... still caring for her fellow ghosts, refusing to cut them down completely.

Aether noticed it immediately. He narrowed his eyes, realising he could use her compassion against her. If she wouldn’t go all out while her brethren were near... then he had a way to hold her at bay.

While he wrestled her attention, Nightfire had already reached the core of the ghostly horde. Her breath hitched as her eyes locked on the object at the centre.

A wooden casket... weathered, splintering apart, far worse than the last time she had seen it.

Nightfire frowned deeply. She glanced at the swarm around her, but all of them were focused on Aether, distracted by his rope and his taunts. She exhaled slowly, nerves shaking, then slipped closer.

”Nyx... are you alright?” she whispered, her voice tight as she crept toward the casket. Her hand trembled as she touched the side, pushing the lid just enough to peek inside.

There she was.

Nyx... Sleeping softly within the coffin.

’It seems like she’s fine, though...?’ Nightfire thought, her voice echoing into the bond as she relayed the message to Aether.

Aether visibly sighed in relief when her words reached him. His chest loosened for the first time in minutes. But then his brow furrowed.

Why was the log showing his contract on the verge of breaking then?

Didn’t that mean Nyx was dying? Or... was it something else entirely?

”Starla!” Aether shouted, his rope snapping tight around her sword as the blade nearly grazed his face. He yanked hard, pulling the weapon downward, forcing her strike aside. The steel stabbed into the ground, tearing stone as it buried itself deep.

”I don’t understand—what are you trying to protect here?! If Nyx is fine, then why are you blocking me?!”

Starla froze for a heartbeat. Her eyes lowered, her face shadowed. Then she bowed her head ever so slightly.

”Forgive me, My Lord...” she said, her voice strained, carrying just the faintest tremor of pain.

”But... our Queen is no more.”
