Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1182: Chapter 1182: Going to S-country Tomorrow! Chapter 1182: Chapter 1182: Going to S-country Tomorrow! Old Master Lawrence had the housekeeper escort the two of them out.

In the spacious reception room, only servants and Skye Lawrence remained.

Skye Lawrence took the opportunity to walk over and respectfully called out, “Grandpa.”

“Hmm,” Old Master Lawrence poured a cup of tea and placed it in front of her, “Sit.”

Skye Lawrence did as instructed and sat down on the couch, waiting for him to speak.

Old Master Lawrence was in no hurry; he leisurely picked up the tea cup, sipped some Green Snail Spring green tea, and then started to speak in an offhand manner, “I heard from your dad that you’ve been going on blind dates recently; have you met the other party?”

Skye Lawrence had prepared for this moment and nodded, “Yes, I have.”

“What do you think?” His sharp gaze fell on her face as if trying to see through her.

Skye Lawrence quietly clenched her hands beneath her, her expression unchanged as she replied, “It was alright, but it was just one meal, so I do not know him very well yet. I’ve arranged to meet him again tomorrow to ride horses together to get to know him better.”

Old Master Lawrence gave her a deep look and retracted his penetrating gaze, “If you think he’s not bad, then see him a few more times. If there are no issues, consider getting married.”

Marriage…

Skye Lawrence’s lips unconsciously tightened, her voice hoarse as she answered, “Okay.”

It was at this time that the housekeeper returned.

First, he greeted Skye Lawrence, “First Young Lady, hello.”

Then he quickly walked to Old Master Lawrence’s side, leaned down to whisper in his ear, “Old Lord, Young Master has returned.”

Old Master Lawrence’s frowned subtly, glanced at Skye Lawrence across from him, nodded to indicate he understood, then stood up and said to Skye Lawrence, “I’m tired. You go on home for today, and we’ll talk about anything else tomorrow.”

“I don’t have anything else, I just wanted to show you the Financial Statements for the companies under my name. There’s also a restructuring case for one of the Subsidiaries, I wanted to get your input. Since Grandpa isn’t feeling well, you should go rest, and I’ll come back tomorrow.”

“Leave the statements here and come find me tomorrow.”

“Okay.”

Skye Lawrence laid down the Financial Statements she’d brought, stood up, and was about to leave.

Unexpectedly, Baron Lawrence moved faster than anyone else, and just as she reached the doorway, she collided head-on with the man who was striding back.

Although it had only been a month since they last saw each other, Skye Lawrence felt a strange sense of unfamiliarity towards the man approaching her. She bit her lower lip, intending to greet him.

But Baron Lawrence acted as if he hadn’t seen her at all, and in the blink of an eye, he brushed past her…

Skye Lawrence felt a breeze by her side and before she knew it, there was no one in front of her anymore. She raised her hand halfway, then clenched it into a fist in mid-air and casually let it drop. She bit her lower lip, forced herself not to look back, and pretended she hadn’t intended to greet him just moments before. She stepped forward and walked away…

This entire scene was caught by the watchful eyes of Old Master Lawrence; he rubbed the bridge of his nose wearily and closed his eyes.

The housekeeper, apart from Old Master Lawrence and Nicholas Lawrence, was the only person who knew Skye Lawrence’s background. Of course, he also knew what had been troubling Old Master lately; he silently lamented the unfortunate entanglement in his heart, then dutifully stood to the side and looked away.

Fortunately, it was only the First Young Lady who had thoughts, and the Young Master did not share the same feelings.

Otherwise, the Old Lord would have had a real headache.

So, that might be why the Old Lord had protected Ms. Clark and chased away Princess Scarlett; perhaps it was because the First Young Lady presented a point of comparison.

After all, it was always better for the Young Master to be with Ms. Clark than with the First Young Lady.
