Chapter 892: Spoiled Owner And Dog. [Dragon Gift: CoolVamp.]

The next morning, the door to Izan’s room slammed open so hard it bounced off the wall.

Izan blinked through the haze of sleep, his mind still foggy and his body a bit hot under the duvet.

He looked up and saw Hori standing in the doorway, arms folded, face set in that particular brand of morning irritation that needed no translation.

He just stared at her, and she stared right back.

Neither spoke.

Then, with a small huff, she turned and walked away, leaving the door wide open and the cold air rolling in.

Izan rubbed a hand over his face, about to mutter something under his breath, when a soft hand caught him under the sheets.

”Don’t curse this early,” Olivia mumbled, voice thick with sleep.

He glanced down at her, her eyes still half-closed, hair spilling across the pillow and then leaned closer, a faint smirk tugging at his lips.

”Don’t hurt something you’re addicted to.”

Her palm met his shoulder with a light shove.

”Idiot,” she muttered, but the corner of her mouth curved despite herself.

Izan grinned, then pressed his face into her chest, muffling a laugh as she groaned, pushing at his head.

”Get up,” she said, voice cracking into a laugh.

”Let me get some of the joy that comes in the morning first,” he said, causing Olivia to chuckle, before pushing himself up, stretching as he stood, and scratching his hair while she wrapped the blanket around herself.

”When are you going to get into your schedule?” Izan said as he grabbed a little towel from one of the drawers.

Olivia just unwrapped the blanket before shrugging.

”I did some of the classes online, so I am not particularly swamped or anything.”

When she followed him toward the bathroom, she asked, ”You’re going to get Miko’s stuff today?”

”Yeah,” he replied, brushing his teeth.

”Pretty sure that’s why my lovely sister kicked the door in.”

Olivia leaned against the doorframe.

”Then I’m coming with you.”

He spat out the foam and shrugged.

”Suit yourself.”

By the time he came downstairs, the morning light poured softly through the tall glass expanse of the living room.

Komi stood by the plants, now lined along the edge, a watering can in hand, her loose blouse catching the light.

She turned at the sound of his steps, smiling.

”Morning,” she said. ”Olivia up yet?”

”She should be done soon.”

Almost on cue, Olivia appeared on the stairs in a floral dress that hugged her lightly at the waist, and she smiled as she reached the bottom.

”Good morning, Komi,” she greeted warmly.

”Good morning, dear,” Komi replied, smiling warmly too, before gesturing towards the dining table.

”I already made breakfast, so join Miura at the table.”

Olivia smiled, mouthing thanks before moving into the seat beside Izan.

Halfway through his meal, Izan looked around and asked, ”Where’s Hori?”

Komi sighed and tilted her head toward the wide glass doors that opened to the garden.

”Outside with the dog. She’s been out there a while.”

He leaned back.

”Still acting like that, huh? Even after getting what she wanted?”

Komi just smiled faintly and shrugged, saying nothing more.

When they finished, Izan stood and stretched, glancing at his mother as he grabbed his jacket.

”You’re not heading to work today?”

”Not today,” she said. ”But Miranda said something earlier before leaving. She said to expect something in the evening.”

His brow creased a little. ”Something?”

”That’s all she said.”

He nodded slowly, slipping his phone into his pocket.

Olivia was already beside him, fingers brushing against his as he turned, caught her eye, and smiled faintly before heading toward the door.

Outside, the air was still crisp, the kind that smelled faintly of grass and rain.

”The default UK weather,” Olivia muttered as they walked towards the Benz SUV, which sat in the driveway, polished and waiting.

Izan slid into the driver’s seat while Olivia climbed into the passenger side.

At the back, Hori was already buckled in with already Miko beside her on the seat.

The dog’s head popped up the moment Izan shut his door, tail wagging, eyes bright.

She leaned forward and licked behind his ear, making him flinch and laugh.

”Good to see you too,” he said, reaching back to scratch her chin.

Miko barked softly, tail thumping against the seat.

”Good girl,” Izan murmured, smiling as he started the engine before glancing back at the dog curled comfortably beside her sister, then at Olivia as the gates opened ahead of them.

The morning stretched open, calm and unhurried, as they drove out toward the B&Q down in Hampstead.

....

In the afternoon after Miko’s haul, the house was alive with noise.

Hori’s laughter echoed from the hallway as Miko darted past her, white fur bouncing, nails clicking against the marble floor.

The Samoyed twisted through the open space, tail wagging like a metronome set too fast, before sliding into the living room and taking cover behind one of the large couches.

”Miko! Come here!” Hori yelled, chasing after her, hair bouncing wildly as she turned the corner.

The dog let out a playful bark and ducked again, vanishing behind a chair.

Outside, the driveway buzzed with movement.

A black delivery van sat by the gate, its doors wide open as two men carried out boxes stacked with everything a spoiled dog could ever need.

A new dog bed, cream-colored and soft enough to sink a hand into, bags of food, chew toys, a few grooming kits, stainless steel bowls and even a collapsible travel crate.

Izan stood by the van, sleeves rolled up, helping one of the men lift a box heavier than it looked.

”You really don’t need to, sir. We’ve got this,” one of them said, shifting his grip as they set the box down by the porch.

”It’s fine,” Izan replied, wiping his palms on his shorts. ”I’d rather do something than stand around.”

Another man laughed as he opened a smaller box filled with leashes and colourful collars.

”You must really like dogs.”

Izan gave a small shrug. ”I’m learning.”

The men chuckled, exchanging glances.

One of them tilted his head toward the open living room doors where Miko suddenly bounded out again, brushing past Hori’s legs.

”She looks happy already for a dog in a new environment,” the man said.

Izan smiled faintly, watching the chaos unfold inside. ”Yeah, she’s adapting fast.”

For a moment, they worked in comfortable rhythm, lifting, passing, stacking as the sun climbed higher, bathing the garden in warm gold.

When they finally got the last of the supplies into the storage room near the back, one of the men stretched his back and exhaled.

”That’s the last of it. You’ve got everything from bedding to shampoo in here. She’s set for a while.”

Izan nodded.

”Appreciate it. Thanks for the help.”

”No worries, I mean, we are getting paid for our services”, another said, wiping sweat from his brow.

”But, uh... if you don’t mind, can we get a picture? My brother and I are massive Arsenal fans. He won’t believe this.”

The others laughed and joined in, already fishing out their phones.

Izan chuckled, tying the band holding his hair from falling much tighter.

”Sure, no problem.”

Just as he posed with them, Olivia stepped outside, phone in hand and a proud smile on her face.

”Here, I’ll take it. You’ll get a better one.”

The group shuffled closer, one of the men jokingly holding a dog toy in the frame.

Izan smiled, while Olivia snapped a few shots, then showed them to make sure everyone was satisfied.

”That’s perfect,” one of them said. ”Thank you so much.”

As they started loading their equipment back into the van, another worker lingered a moment, curiosity winning him over.

”Can I ask something, boss?”

”Go ahead,” Izan said, closing the storage room door.

”What should we expect from Arsenal this season? I mean, we’ve already won everything this past season, so I really hope we do not crumble like most teams that get complacent after winning things.”

Izan paused, his lips curving into a small, knowing smile.

”That won’t happen because Arsenal has been hungry for far too long,” he said simply. ”So expect the very best.”

The man grinned, nodding like that was all he needed to hear.

”I’ll hold you to that.”

They shook hands before getting into the van.

As it rolled down the driveway, Miko ran up to the gate and barked twice, tail wagging as if to thank them for their work.

Olivia stepped beside Izan, still smiling.

”You look good in fan photos.”

He shot her a sideways look.

”You’re enjoying this too much.”

”Maybe a little,” she said, slipping her arm around his waist as they watched the van disappear down the road.

Behind them, Hori called out from the garden, ”Miko! No, not the hose!” followed by a splash and her surprised squeal.

Izan sighed, rubbing his temple. ”And it begins.”

Olivia laughed quietly, leaning her head against his shoulder as the afternoon sun cast their shadows long across the driveway.
