The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1985: Arena Creation (1)

Rex knew that there was a high possibility that this would happen.

He suspected the Purgation Duel Law, which was a law that regulated when two important figures had a blood feud that could not be mediated, would not be a simple duel. That would be really unfair to the side with a stronger background.

He suspected the Purgation Duel Law would involve multiple people.

Not only an actual duel between two figures who hated each other.

And since their plan was to wrap High Lord Ursa with this law—the chances of him picking Dimantona were there. Despite most likely not being an entity native to the Primordial Meadow, his strength couldn’t be denied.

For him to ransack a good portion of the Cavity without being caught is a fearsome feat.

It would be a waste not to make him one of the warriors, and Rex was right.

”Come down here and be my last warrior!”

Diamantona recoiled on his seat and reacted exactly as when High Lord Rashal picked Davina.

He looked at High Lord Ursa—asking silently whether he was actually being summoned to be a warrior in a battle that had no connection to him. And when he realized that High Lord Ursa was being serious, he rolled his eyes.

He also picked up Rex’s knowing smirk, and it made him sigh deeply like his soul also came out along with the exhale.

Encountering another Scion is not part of his plan by coming here.

It would be one thing to encounter a Scion—who was overwhelmingly stronger than him, as that would at least be fun. Going against a Scion like Rex, who did not even emanate the proper scent a Scion would have, is nothing short of annoying.

’Come on, world. Do something new already. I’ve dealt with this exact situation several times already.’

Diamantona shook his head, stood up, and then sank into the ground.

He emerged on the far left of High Lord Ursa’s warriors, rising from the ground as a shard of red crystal before melting back into flesh. Where the others stood battle-ready, shoulders squared and eyes blazing, he hunched forward. His gaze skittered away from every face. He angled his body aside—as if refusing to stand squarely before anyone.

Even a moron could tell that he didn’t want to be there.

Diamantona has no decency to even attempt to cover his reluctance.

On the side, Davina noticed that the Cluster Custodian was smiling silently.

His eyes darted between Diamantona and Rex, clearly excited for them to face one another.

And when she turned to face Rex, he also had the same excited smile.

”Do you know this shy man?”

”I know him, but not personally. In fact, I had only met him an hour ago.”

”Hmm?”

Davina tilted her head and then remembered what had happened earlier.

Remembered how Rex suddenly went to the second floor without giving them any explanation.

”Who is he?”

”Someone who’s tied to the reason why the Cluster Custodian gave me some face. Someone extremely dangerous despite his appearance. Don’t get too close to him. I might not be able to save you in time if he makes a move. He’s also the one who allegedly invaded and ransacked the Cavity.”

”What?”

No matter the situation, Rex always remained steadfast and positive.

She had seen him facing an impossible situation several times already.

One being when he overwhelmed the Sky People using a Voidal Monarch, which was a feat akin to the legendary stories of the legend. Rex always has the confidence and strength to go through any situation that the universe has trapped him in.

And yet, now, he admitted that this shy man who looked like a lost boy is extremely dangerous.

Someone who has the capability to overwhelm him.

”You’re exaggerating, right? This... depressed-looking person is that strong?”

”I never said he was strong. I said he was dangerous.”

Davina nodded her head in understanding.

Considering that Diamantona was the person who outwitted them recently, the one who ransacked the Cavity, she shouldn’t be surprised that Rex was that wary of this man. He should be wary, as he has already lost the first encounter.

Indirectly, but a loss still a loss.

’But I’m curious as to what the reason was he was talking about.’

Even Davina was curious; she knew that this was not the right time for Rex to answer her question.

”Now. Each side has summoned its wonderful warriors, so we can proceed to the next natural step.” The Cluster Custodian stepped aside—with the unhurried ease of an old man strolling through his lush garden, hands folded behind his back. ”A duel requires a proper stage, does it not? Let us make one.”

Make...?

Rex frowned and then looked around the Blank Realm, realizing why they were here in the first place.

It was because the Cluster Custodian was going to make the arena for the duel.

Among the people of the Primordial Meadow, those who served directly under the Overseer of Realms, the creation of pocket dimensions, even entire realms, was a common practice. Everyone has their own personal pocket dimension woven from their own power over space.

He remembered High Lord Rashal also had his own.

An interrogation realm that could detect when someone was being truthful or not.

One that probes not only the bodily cues but also the mind and soul.

For someone like the Cluster Custodian who inherits the power of the Overseer directly, creating a realm should be nothing. And now, he was going to display that overwhelming might that separated him from the rest of the Demigods.

”Here is how this would work. Each side would add one element to this arena—and the opposite side would add a limit to that element. Only three elements in total for each side. Let’s start from High Lord Ursa.”

Abruptly, the Cluster Custodian stopped and floated skyward like an otherworldly being.

He hovered in the sky like a phantom and stared at High Lord Ursa.

”Choose your element.”

”Ocean.”

High Lord Ursa didn’t hesitate in the slightest and demanded the ocean element.

A smile crept to the Cluster Custodian’s face.

SWOOSH—!

It was the sound that came first.

A distant, rhythmic thunder that rolled through the white void like the start of a natural disaster.

Rex heard it through his sixth sense before his ears could make sense of it.

Raging waves. An ocean where no ocean should exist. The Blank Realm shuddered with violent, bone-deep tremors, as if the end of all things had finally arrived. A heavy pressure slammed down onto every shoulder—the unbearable weight of an entire realm bearing down upon their backs.

Such pressure forced Rex to close his eyes and groan to keep his back straight.

And when his eyes opened again, the white void was gone. It was replaced by another place entirely.

Now, Rex floated above an endless ocean.

The sky remained white, but below him stretched an ocean so deep its surface was the color of bruises. Dark blue. Abyssal blue. The blue of water that had never known sunlight, that descended for miles into a darkness older than time.

The waves moved not as individuals, but as united fronts.

Massive swells that rose and crashed with the force of a collapsing mountain and moving tectonic plates.

Each spray arced through the air in sheets of white. Each impact was a thunderclap. Each pull from the tide was a grinding, churning roar that vibrated through the air. The guests watched from the safety of their seats.

For a second, their earlier terror was eclipsed by awe.

An ocean. Creating in the span of a breath. The Cluster Custodian had not spoken a word, had not even gestured with his hand, and yet an entire sea now stretched infinitely beneath their seats. The water was real. The waves were real. The depth was real.

Heck, they could even feel the salt in the air and the mist on their faces.

For many, this was a privilege.

Now, they were confused whether they should curse High Lord Rashal for turning the modest banquet into a dangerous occasion or thank him for the chance to witness a Cluster Custodian in action. Such a display was a rare thing.

Even some of the older guests had not seen a Cluster Custodian use their power to this extent.

”Limitation?” The Cluster Custodian turned to High Lord Rashal.

High Lord Rashal paused for a moment and then answered, ”Near shore.”

Swoosh—!

Once again, the realm shook.

From the depths of the sea, land began to rise.

It emerged not with a slow, geological patience of continents but with the sudden, decisive quake of a God’s decree. The ocean floor surged upward with a splash, shedding water in great cascading sheets—and a shoreline materialized to the left.

It stretched, spread, raced across the horizon as far as any eye could follow.

Pebbles scattered across the new ground, polished smooth by currents that had existed for all of three seconds. Sand hissed and settled. Several trees pushed up—from nothing. Rock formations created this uneven edge of land.

Rex felt the transition as a subtle lurch in his stomach; the world dragged him sideways without moving him at all. The center of the ocean dissolved, replaced by the shore. The rough waves now lapped gently against the new coastline with a milder rhythm.

The wind gentled. The spray softened. And the thunder of the deep receded into a whisper.

Seeing the new place, Rex understood how this worked.

He wasn’t sure earlier, but this clears things up.

In order for the battlefield to be fair to both sides, each one would take turns adding an element—while the enemy would impose a limitation. Clearly, High Lord Ursa is extremely strong near a body of water. It was why he chose to have the arena be an ocean.

High Lord Rashal countered this by limiting the body of water, giving land for them to stand on.

A good limitation as fighting in an ocean arena would be extremely disadvantageous for them.

”Are you okay?” Rex turned, seeing that Davina was holding her stomach.

Nauseous from the sudden change in the realm.

”I’ll manage,” Davina assured him, but held onto his bicep and squeezed to keep her mind distracted from the churn in her stomach. ”Never mind me. We need to plan the arena well. We need to accommodate— our powers and underwhelm theirs.”

”She’s right,” High Lord Rashal nodded and then turned to Vadyn. ”Do you know what they are?”

”I know.” Vadyn nodded and stepped forward. ”Absolute darkness.”

The Cluster Custodian smiled in amusement.

He had not anticipated Vadyn requesting this element, and he liked the boldness of it.

It would be no fun if the arena were mundane, so this was a great addition.

And with a nod, he complied and snapped his fingers.

Darkness fell out of nowhere. Not the gentle darkness of twilight or the soft dimming of a candle, but absolute, primordial black. It slammed down upon the Blank Realm like a curtain of oblivion, devouring everything.

Everyone found their vision reduced to inches.

It was not blindness, but the absence of anything to see.

Another warrior from High Lord Ursa’s side stepped forward. ”Sky of absolute darkness.”

Almost instantly, the darkness shifted.

It was drawn skyward as though pulled by an invisible hand. It peeled away from the sea, the beach—and the air, sliding upward in great, silent sheets. The darkness gathered above, condensing, and as it did, the ground brightened again.

Now, everything was at least visible to the naked eye.

But the blank-white sky was replaced by a dome of absolute—starless black. It became a void. A ceiling of pure night, as though the realm had been turned upside down and was now floating beneath the solid surface of an impossible midnight.

Vadyn’s smile deepened.

She turned around and caught Rex’s eye. She winks at him, small and quick, displaying her satisfaction at managing to force the other side to make the sky black. It was her intention, knowing that Rex—like her—would be devastating in darkness.

After all, he’s a werewolf.

Now, there’s only one thing missing to give him more of an advantage.
