The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 13: Shopping

While walking away Rex doesnʼt realize that someone is looking at his back.

Laura is the one looking at his back which is getting further and further away from her, she felt a sense of loss after seeing the coldness of Rexʼs back. He even decides to instantly leave the arena without helping her get up.

ʼHow did he get this strong...? Although I can probably beat him using my magic, even so, a non-awakened is not supposed to be this strong. Rex, I didnʼt mean us to be like this...ʼ, biting her lower lips, Laura turns her gaze away.

Tom struggles to stand up with the sharp pain in her stomach, he then runs to help Laura.

But then suddenly he frowns finding that Lauraʼs body is heating up, her forehead creased in pain. Her face turns pale as she falls into Tomʼs embrace weakly, she glances at her brother before she whispers something to Tomʼs ear weakly.

Upon hearing the whisper, Tom immediately carries Laura and heads to the infirmary.

While this is all happening Rex is unaware of this event, heʼs smiling while looking at the systemʼs notifications showing the reward that he gained from beating Laura in a fair fight.

Rex is grinning like a madman attracting the weird gazes of the students while Mr. Joseph is saying something to the students, he ignores Mr. Josephʼs lecture and opens the Stat tab.

Name: Rex Silverstar

Sanity: 73%

Endurance: 10

Attributable Stats: 3

Rex looks at his stats tab and notices some changes.

ʼSo added strength that I got from increasing my claw level is displayed beside my actual stats, thatʼs pretty convenientʼ

After pondering for a while, he decided to add his three attributable stats into mental stats. What he needed the most right now is to prepare for the full moon, so he needs to raise his mental stats high enough to not let that eventful night repeat again.

With that out of the way, Rex notices that the students started to leave the training hall.

Following the other students that seems to indicate that class is over, Rex decided to walk out too but then suddenly he was called by Mr. Joseph standing on the side waving at him.

”Rex! Come here for a moment”

Rex turns his head towards Mr. Joseph and raises his eyebrows in confusion, he hesitantly approaches Mr. Joseph passing the students and heading out. It made him a little bit nervous since he doesnʼt know what Mr. Joseph wanted to say to him.

”Whatʼs wrong Mr. Joseph?”

”Have you got your personal room? You do know that as a student you will not be able to get out of the universityʼs premises until the weekend right?”

”Wait... I canʼt go home?!”

Contrary to his expectation, Rex was caught by surprise upon hearing this. Mr. Joseph closed his ears in annoyance upon feeling the high-pitched voice seeps into his ears and rattled his eardrums.

”Donʼt overreact. I am a considerate lecturer, so I already have your room key right here”

Mr. Joseph takes out a key from his pocket before shoving the key toward Rex.

Receiving the key with that is shoved to him, Rex looks back at Mr. Joseph that is walking away and heading to the exit, ”Your room is in the Dormitory Section, District C. If you want to go out, you can just ask me directly. Donʼt forget classes will always start at 7”

Standing frozen in place still processing what Mr. Joseph said, Rex looks down at the key.

ʼI donʼt know that the students must stay here during the weekdays... I didnʼt even bring any moneyʼ

Rex sigh lightly realizing that he canʼt go home and had no money, but just as he thought that his phone suddenly vibrated with a light ringing sound. He takes his phone before he saw a message sent by his mother.

”I forgot to tell you that you will be staying in the university dormitory. I already transferred money to your bank account, you can just check it if itʼs in yet. Donʼt forget to have fun, Love you!”

Looking at the message, the corner of his lips quirked up.

Itʼs been a while since he has ever interacted with his mother like this since thereʼs hardly time for him in the Noob Box to do any of this. After reading the message from his mother, Rex opens his bank account on his phone before he gasps in shock!

ʼ$500,000?! How much money does the UWO give to make mom give me this much money!ʼ

Rex was utterly surprised to see the zeroes on his bank account that has never reached this much before, this is an enormous amount of money inside his bank account. If his bank account was a person, then he will be jumping in joy for having drained for years.

At this current time, the Elpida Alliance decided to use one currency. That currency is the dollar.

Hailing from a mediocre family, Rex has never holt his much money. Buying something just for the sake of his pleasure, he never experienced something like that. But now that he holds this kind of money, his poor hands start to get itchy.

While trying to find his room, Rex looks down in thought.

ʼThis gigantic university doesnʼt have a mall right...?ʼ

Just as he was finding his room on a map in front of the training hall, he saw a mall section! Turns out the university also has a mall section that provides entertainment for the students here.

ʼShould I...?ʼ

After contemplating whether to go to the mall section or not, Rex decides that itʼs not going to hurt him to spend some money for once. Looking back at the map to remember the way to the mall section, he also finds that this university has a train that goes back and forth. He decided to use it because the mall section is pretty far.

The train station is not far away from the training hall.

Rex finds the train station easily, he waited for a moment before he enters a train alongside other students that also have their own destinations in mind. Inside the train, many students with different styles are chatting happily.

Stealing glances at the chatting students with his cold eyes, deep down he feels lonely.

After five minutes or so, his torment finally stopped as the train arrived at his destination. The mall section of the university is just like other malls, they got restaurants, coffee shops, branded shops and boutiques, automobiles, and many more!

ʼWhat the heck is this university, itʼs out of this worldʼ

Rex steps out of the train before merging with the crowd looking right and left. Some of the shops are normal shops like any other mall but some are not. Elixir shops, magic shops, and even battle equipment shops can be seen here.

Elixir is used by the Awakened in many ways such as to help them promote to a higher rank faster, replenish their mana, or even heal their injuries. Magic shops sell spells and items to increase their magic power or potency, while a battle equipment shop is a place where Awakened buys their equipment.

The Ochyra Universityʼs students are not all Awakened, some like Rex are normal people.

Classes in the university are not as it seems, they have a deeper meaning. For example Rexʼs class, class 1-C. 1 stands for first-year while C means elite class. The class is divided into A, B, C, and D where A is a normal class full of normal people, B is a middle class that has a fifty-fifty ratio between normal people and an Awakened, and C is an elite class full of Awakened.

As for D class, theyʼre the core class. The elite of elites amongst students.

ʼI really donʼt care about my appearance but a watch is not that badʼ

Rex is looking at a branded watch shop on the side displaying different kinds of models that piqued his interest, he decided to enter the shop and check the watches they have there. But unknown to him, thereʼs a figure that notices him and started following him.

”Welcome dear customer, what can I help you today?”

A clear wearing a formal suit and tie greeted with a polite smile with his hands clasped in front.

”Iʼm looking for a watch, can you recommend me some”, said Rex while looking around.

The clerk observed Rex from head to toe, He smiles and motion Rex to follow him, ”Right this way sir”

The clerk brought Rex to a collection of watches, there is a couple of series of watches in front of Rex with different designs.

The watches are arranged neatly inside a big glass cabinet.

”This is a collection of our Bronze Series, It is made by one of our best craftsmen and fully automated. It is resistant to heavy impact and if you request it we can put a rune on it to add defense properties turning this watch into battle equipment”, the clerk explains with a smile.

Rex glance at it and points at another one located on the top of the display, ”What about this one?”

”Sir, Iʼm sorry but it is a pretty high-end product. Our bronze series is much affordable”, the clerk said with a look of doubt on his face.

”How much for this one?”, Rex asks while pointing at the Gold Series of the watch collection totally ignoring the clerk.

The clerk said mockingly, ”It is $93,999 sir, Will you buy it? You are not an Awakened so I just trying to help you save some face by showing you the bronze series collection”, the clerk folded his hands in front of him.

After hearing it, Rex smiles mockingly. ʼThis guy is so annoying, judging my abilities eh?ʼ

He turns his head and calls another clerk that is standing in front of the shop entrance, ”You there come here I want to ask you something”, Rex said towards a female clerk wearing the same outfit as the clerk before.

The female clerk approaches Rex politely and asks, ”What can I help you with?”

”How much is this one?”, Rex asks while pointing to the same watch he asks the other clerk before.

After looking at it, The clerk answers, ”It is $93,999 sir”

”Then Iʼll buy it, also, add a rank 3 protection rune on it”, Rex said while giving the clerk his debit card.

Hearing this, the clerk that mocks Rex before is shocked. ”Sir I can wrap that one up for you”, he said pleading for Rex.

”No Need, this miss here can do that”, he replies coldly, ʼSay bye-bye to your bonusʼ Rex thought with a mocking smile.

The clerk felt depressed after losing his bonus, while the female clerk brought Rex his newly purchased watch with a happy expression.

”Thank you for your purchase! Please come again!”, Said the female clerk while Rex exiting the stores.

After Rex walks out of the store, He wanted to go to his room when suddenly he said, ”I know youʼre following me”

Adhara that was blending with the crowd walks out after she got exposed by Rex, ”How do you know?”, she asks.

Instead of answering, Rex replied with another question, ”What are you doing?”

”Nothing, just following you”, she replied innocently.

Rex studied Adhara trying to find her motive to no avail, her beauty seems to be a perfect mask to hide her thoughts.

She continues, ”Do you want to eat with me?”

Rex replied while resuming his walk, ”No, Donʼt follow me”

Adhara stood there in thoughts, ʼWhy is he so cold? He isnʼt cold when he introduces himself before so why the sudden change?ʼ

Rex walks out of the mall section and goes to the dormitory section,

He goes to the C district and found his room, Room number 13.

While heʼs walking towards the C district, he found that the room in the A and B districts is normal while the C district is two times the size and more luxurious.

Entering the room, he found that his room has minimal furniture in it.

One king-size bed, big Tv that is hanging in front of the bed, a study desk that is pretty big with a high-end computer on it, a brown L shape sofa, and a bathroom.

ʼThis is way more than I thoughtʼ, he thought while he opens his upper clothes and crashes on the bed.

Just as he wanted to closes his eyes, he remembered that he still didnʼt do his daily quest and also he needs to meet Rosie.

”Ughhh...”, Rex wakes up from the bed, puts his clothes back on, and left the room lazily.
