Star Martial Era: The Way of Star Light Cultivation

Chapter 581: Chapter 241: Assisting the Breakthrough

As for the matter of the Nine-star Tide, Xu Jin did not seek advice from the State Preceptor.

Xu Jin believed that when the time was right, the State Preceptor would definitely tell him.

What Xu Jin could do now was to prepare for battle.

The first thing Xu Jin did was to go to the Foreign Affairs Hall to replenish a batch of Pills, all of which were given to his Uncle-Master Mo Ji for recovery purposes.

These Pills all needed to be nourished first.

Top-grade Rejuvenation Pills, Three Yin Clearing Mind Pills, Four Series Star Recovery Pills, and One Qi Returning Star Pills—three bottles of each were bought.

Doing so directly reduced Xu Jin’s Taoist Merit by just over ten thousand points.

This was the first preparation.

The second preparation was in regards to Emblems.

Xu Jin had calculated that if he were to participate in the battle during the Nine-star Tide, he would most likely be in the Third Tier Star Domain.

The enemies in the Third Tier Star Domain under normal circumstances would have a Cultivation Level of Fourth Tier Star Condensation, Ninth Layer Peak, and with Xu Jin’s current strength, there was still a possibility to face them one on one.

However, the greatest difficulty in battling the Star Domains was just this.

There were rarely opportunities for one-on-one combat.

Therefore, having a reserve of Emblems was crucial.

Xu Jin did not know if he could bring the high-tier Emblems stored in the Mustard Space through the Star Gate, but placing them on the Candou Platform would definitely allow them to be brought in.

Therefore, it was essential to have a large reserve of Emblems.

Fifth Tier Emblems would actually be the best because after some nourishment, they would possess the might of Sixth Tier Emblems.

But he felt too embarrassed to ask for more.

He could only prepare them himself.

In recent days, Xu Jin spent every day making Fourth Tier Emblems.

The plan was to repay debts first.

Now, the speed of making Fourth Tier Emblems had become increasingly fast, and the quality increasingly high.

Every two Fourth Tier Emblems would yield one Fourth Tier Upper Spiral Flame Burst Emblem.

This was already a very high probability.

In the process of making Fourth Tier Emblems, Xu Jin discovered another thing.

If Fifth Tier Upper mid-tier Fire Origin was used during the creation of Fourth Tier Emblems, the probability of producing Fourth Tier Upper Emblems would greatly increase.

If Sixth Tier Lower mid-tier Fire Origin was used, most of the Fourth Tier Emblems produced would be of upper-grade.

However, if Sixth Tier Middle or Sixth Tier Upper mid-tier Fire Origin Star Patterns were used, the Emblems would frequently burst.

Xu Jin had also tried engraving Seventh Tier Lower or Seventh Tier Upper high-tier Fire Origin Star Patterns within the Jade Tablet, but without exception, they all burst.

On October 26th, Xu Jin brought the recent days’ work and, after class, was once again given one-on-one guidance by Academician Kou.

After reviewing Xu Jin’s submitted work, Academician Kou was very surprised.

”Xu Jin, your progress is astonishing! There’s already a small amount of Fourth Tier Upper-grade Emblems, nearly reaching my level.”

”As for the success rate of the Fourth Tier Upper-grade Emblems, a fifty percent probability is very high.

Even for me, your teacher, the success rate for producing Fourth Tier Upper-grade Emblems is just over eighty percent. But you need to know, over these past thirty or fifty years, engrossed in Emblem-making, I’ve made not less than a hundred thousand, or at least eighty thousand of them.

This thing, apart from understanding, it all depends on practice!

For others, it might take five years of specialized practice in making one kind of Fourth Tier Emblem to possibly reach a fifty percent upper-grade rate.” Academician Kou answered Xu Jin’s questions one by one.

Upon hearing this, Xu Jin felt a stir in his heart.

He too could be considered practiced.

He had only made a few hundred Fourth Tier Emblems, but the number of times he had practiced them within the Star Lamp definitely exceeded fifty thousand times.

It appeared that more diligent practice was needed upon returning!

”Especially with basic Star Patterns like the Source Power ones, the rank significantly affects the Emblem’s rank.

When you use Sixth Tier Lower Fire Origin Star Pattern to make Fourth Tier Emblems, it’s considered extending beyond the limit, which is why your rate of producing upper-grade Fourth Tier Emblems greatly increases.

Typically, Sixth Tier Fire Origin Star Patterns are only used in the making of Fifth Tier Emblems.

But when attempting to make Fifth Tier Emblems, they are usually made using Fifth Tier Star Skills, meaning a composition of five Star Patterns.

Sometimes, we use high-tier Source Power Star Patterns to forcibly raise the rank of an Emblem.

For instance, the Fourth Tier Upper Spiral Flame Burst Star Pattern you’re making, you use Fifth Tier Upper Fire Origin Star Pattern.

But if you switch to Sixth Tier Middle or Upper Fire Origin Star Pattern, the Emblems produced would possess the might of Fifth Tier Emblems.

And the reason your Emblems burst when using Sixth Tier Middle Fire Origin Star Pattern to make them is because the base Emblem’s rank couldn’t withstand the might of the Sixth Tier Middle Fire Origin Star Pattern.

If you were to use a base Emblem made from a Fifth Tier Star Jade Tablet and Sixth Tier Middle Fire Origin Star Pattern to craft a Spiral Flame Burst Emblem, in theory, it would have the might of a Fifth Tier Emblem.

But generally speaking, the rank is quite limited, at most to Fifth Tier Middle.”

After a pause, Kou Jing continued, ”If you have learned the Sixth Tier Middle Fire Origin Star Pattern and want to try it out, you can give it a shot, but be very, very careful! The explosive power of a bursting Fifth Tier Star Jade Tablet is not small, at the lowest, equivalent to a full-force strike from a Fifth Tier Early Expert.

Moreover, the Sixth Tier Middle Fire Origin Star Pattern is very complex, and it takes many people half a year to learn, let alone become proficient in engraving it.

Personally, I suggest that you should master it on your own first before attempting slowly. Don’t be hasty.”

With Academician Kou’s answers, all of the doubts Xu Jin had accumulated during the process of creating Emblems were swept away, and he gained sudden insight.

”Teacher, I have a question. From what I’ve seen and heard so far, there are only mentions of up to Sixth Tier Emblems. I’ve neither heard of nor seen Seventh Tier Emblems. Is this because I lack experience or because Seventh Tier Emblems are extremely rare?” Xu Jin asked.
