Star Martial Era: The Way of Star Light Cultivation

Chapter 574: Chapter 238 Defining the Deity_2

”Teacher probably didn’t want to cause you trouble,” Xu Jin said.

Hearing this, the State Preceptor slowly nodded, ”That is also in line with Qi’s personality. I’ve heard about him being trapped in Jinshan County.

But at that time, I couldn’t intervene.

If he had secretly come to find me, I could have helped, but under the scrutiny of all, I couldn’t make a move.”

Afterward, Xu Jin recounted the secret killing of Hu Xuechuan, including meeting with Qi and the gifting of the Breaking Evil Star Pattern,

The only thing he left out was the involvement with the Star-picking Tower.

Xu Jin hadn’t yet made up his mind about that.

Because that thing can be stripped away, stolen.

It’s not that Xu Jin didn’t trust the State Preceptor.

Quite the contrary, he trusted him very much.

But even with someone you trust the most, you cannot bare your entire heart.

In the end, Xu Jin brought up the matter of Hu Zhen being lured here.

”State Preceptor, I’m sorry! I never expected that killing an insignificant pawn would lead to Hu Zhen and then to the slaughtering of the city!” Xu Jin said with a face full of remorse.

The State Preceptor sighed deeply, ”Don’t take all the responsibility upon yourself; you’re still young, don’t think about bearing so much. Besides, this Hu Zhen, it’s not the first time he’s massacred a city, just that before, there was no way to deal with him.”

Cheng Yuxiao instead comforted Xu Jin.

”State Preceptor, won’t the other parties care about Hu Zhen’s massacre? Will Tianyang Star Hall and Cangming Star Hall just turn a blind eye? Not only do they sit by while a massacre demon roams free, but they also obstruct?

Is this supposed to be universal justice?

Isn’t it said, the greater the power, the greater the responsibility?” Xu Jin asked, puzzled.

Xu Jin’s words made the State Preceptor’s eyes brighten sharply, ”The greater the power, the greater the responsibility, you’re right! But in this era where mighty power belongs to oneself, not everyone has this awareness.

In many people’s eyes, I, the State Preceptor, am like a divine being.

But in reality, I’m just an ordinary person with mighty power.

Unfortunately, many with mighty power consider themselves as divine beings!

One important reason for Lingji Star Hall’s downfall was that the Lingji Star Lord wanted to define divinity!

He wanted to break through to the Ninth Tier and define what it means to be a divine being!

Set divine punishments!

Just that before he reached the Ninth Tier, Lingji Star Hall was already decimated.”

”Define divinity?”

”Yes.”

”The Lingji Star Lord of that time believed that those with mighty power were like divine beings, but with no restrictions, so he wanted to redefine divinity.

To consider those with mighty power as divine beings, but at the same time, also establish divine rules and set divine punishments,” Cheng Yuxiao explained.

”That is a great idea,” Xu Jin said.

”I think so too. But most of those with mighty power don’t like this idea. So...”

”So Lingji Star Hall was besieged and destroyed?” Xu Jin inquired.

”You could say that! Indeed, Lingji Star Hall was locked down after being besieged by various parties. Otherwise, neither Tianyang Star Hall nor Cangming Star Hall, nor Doom-suppressing Star Palace would have had the power on their own.

However, the reason for the siege and lock down of Lingji Star Hall is complicated, and there are other reasons.

Defining divinity was just an important reason, or shall we say, a catalyst,” Cheng Yuxiao explained.

”State Preceptor, is the Lingji Star Lord still alive?” Xu Jin asked.

Cheng Yuxiao shook his head, ”I don’t know.

But Lingji Star Hall and Lingji remnants are definitely among the taboos of the current era.

This taboo, related to the matter of defining divinity, is more terrifying than you can imagine.

In the future, be careful, especially with your Invisibility Technique that you used directly under everyone’s eyes, use it sparingly in front of others.

And as for your identity, only heaven knows, the earth knows, you know, I know, and no one else can know.

In the future, if you have matters to attend to, do so in the identity of Heavenly Saint Qi.

Otherwise, stay well-behaved,” Cheng Yuxiao advised.

”I understand.”

”Good, and your Star Healing Technique, how do you perform it?” The State Preceptor suddenly asked.

”It is performed using a very special method that relies on the Star Core.”

”Can you teach it to others?”

”I can’t,” Xu Jin shook his head.

”Is it that you can’t, or it’s not possible?”

”Apart from me, no one else can master it; I can only do it but cannot teach it.” This point, Xu Jin couldn’t answer; the abilities brought by the Candou Platform couldn’t be explained.

”What if I get involved in research?” Cheng Yuxiao was somewhat insistent.

This made Xu Jin realize the importance of the Star Healing Technique, but he still shook his head in helplessness.

”State Preceptor, you also can’t get involved in researching it! I can’t say anything; if I speak out, others couldn’t learn, but I would die on the spot.” To make Cheng Yuxiao give up, Xu Jin concocted a lie.

Hearing this, Cheng Yuxiao’s eyes narrowed, clearly picturing something in his mind.

”In that case, let’s not talk about it. Also, in the future, it’s better to use your Star Healing Technique sparingly in front of others,” the State Preceptor advised.

”Why?” Xu Jin asked, puzzled.

”The Star Healing Technique is the exclusive skill of Wood Spirit Palace; every practitioner is registered with them. If you draw the attention of Wood Spirit Palace, it would be very troublesome.

In the future, it’s best to disguise it as an Emblem when using it,” Cheng Yuxiao instructed.

”Wood Spirit Palace, why have I never heard of it before?” Xu Jin asked, astonished.

”You’ve only been cultivating for a few days; there’s a lot you haven’t heard of. There’s also Sumeru Palace. Spend more time in the Library, and you’ll learn about it. Alright, you should head back to the National Taoist Institute now; I still need to seal this Star Gate.

Thankfully this Star Gate was opened from the outside; the alien races within this Star Domain probably haven’t noticed yet. Otherwise, it would be another calamity,” Cheng Yuxiao said, gesturing towards the Star Gate behind him.
