Star Martial Era: The Way of Star Light Cultivation

Chapter 527: Chapter 223 Moonwalking Meteor

Xu Jin needed to make several key decisions before departing to meet Qi Shanye.

The most crucial one was whether to tell the State Preceptor Cheng Yuxiao about this matter or about his own departure for a few days.

This point was very crucial.

To tell or not to tell could greatly affect subsequent developments.

By informing the State Preceptor, Xu Jin’s safety would be absolutely guaranteed.

To a certain extent, Xu Jin could even use the protection of the State Preceptor to carry out his plan to lure and kill Hu Xuechuan.

Xu Jin’s own risk would be minimal.

But there was a very uncertain issue: that was the State Preceptor Cheng Yuxiao’s attitude towards the remnants of Lingji Star Hall.

Xu Jin was not sure about this.

Xu Jin dared not speculate on the psyche of someone as powerful as the State Preceptor Cheng Yuxiao.

Those in power have many things to weigh.

The State Preceptor Cheng Yuxiao’s protection and fondness for Xu Jin were sincere, but that did not mean he would do everything possible for Xu Jin.

The relentless pursuit of the remnants of the Lingji Star Hall by the Tianyang Star Hall over the years made it clear that this was a bottom line for the Tianyang Star Hall.

Then, if Xu Jin or Qi Shanye’s identity were exposed, on which side would the State Preceptor Cheng Yuxiao stand?

Xu Jin secretly believed that the State Preceptor would most likely prioritize the interests of Dachen.

This was inevitable for those above.

After much deliberation and consideration, Xu Jin decided that he could not tell the State Preceptor Cheng Yuxiao about this matter.

He could not gamble!

He could not bet on that slim chance of a stance!

Besides, stepping back ten thousand paces, the State Preceptor Cheng Yuxiao was very good to Xu Jin, and Xu Jin did not want to drag the State Preceptor or Dachen into trouble because of his own issues.

The Da Chen National Daoist School, Tianyang Star Hall, Cangming Star Hall, Dahong, and Dachu - Xu Jin had now slowly studied and understood the political stances of these factions.

Previously, it was the Lingji Star Hall, Tianyang Star Hall, and Cangming Star Hall competing against each other, with Dachen, Dahong, and Dachu empires each aligned with one of them in the rivalry.

But as the Lingji Star Hall was opportunistically decimated and sealed by the two great halls, the National Daoist School took on the challenging responsibility of opposing the Tianyang Star Hall and Cangming Star Hall, making it exceptionally difficult.

However, after the lockdown of the Lingji Star Hall, the Tianyang Star Hall and the Cangming Star Hall, once allies against a common enemy, started to stay on guard against each other, while the National Daoist School began to navigate the cracks for survival and sought development amid wavering alliances.

Therefore, these past twenty years have been extremely challenging for the State Preceptor Cheng Yuxiao.

But if the National Daoist School were to reestablish contact with the survivors of the Lingji Star Hall, it could be akin to fanning flames back to life, representing a red line and taboo for the two major halls.

In such a scenario, the two great halls could possibly join forces again to strike at the National Daoist School.

For the National Daoist School to oppose one was already an uphill battle, not to mention confronting both of them.

From this point alone, Xu Jin could not drag the State Preceptor Cheng Yuxiao into the water.

Do not tell!

Act alone!

After much consideration, this was the decision Xu Jin made.

The first key issue was resolved.

The second key issue was the timing and method of travel.

Xu Jin planned his trip to Song State, which he estimated to take just half a day; if his movements were swift, one day would suffice.

But if he wanted to do anything else, it could take three to five days.

Was it possible for Xu Jin to be away from the National Daoist School for three to five days?

Yes!

After much thought, Xu Jin, given his current status, came to a confident conclusion.

As he was both the Top of the Autumn Exam and a True Disciple, and his Cultivation Level apparent, Xu Jin was currently the freest of all the disciples.

He did not need to attend daily roll calls for cultivation like the core and Inner Court disciples.

Being out of sight for three to five days should be no problem.

With these two issues resolved, there was only the third issue left: safety.

Xu Jin wasn’t too worried about his safety; he had many life-saving methods.

The Chaotic Star Pendant was a life-saving Divine Artifact, and he could also take advantage of the protection of the Martial Arts Secret Realm of the Star-picking Tower.

He also had Sixth and Fifth Tier Star Cores in his hand for life preservation.

That was enough.

The only problem was that he had too few Fifth Tier Emblems.

Xu Jin had four Fifth Tier Emblems.

Three for offense and one for defense, all of which had undergone Nourishment.

He had seven Fourth Tier Emblems, also all Nourished, five for offense and two for defense.

Nourished Fourth Tier Emblems were actually quite useful.

They could harm Fifth Tier Experts.

Unfortunately, Xu Jin was not yet capable of making Fourth Tier Emblems, for if he could, equipping Qi with a few dozen Nourished Fourth Tier Emblems would put his mind at ease.

After a long contemplation, Xu Jin laid out everything he had to do.

Then he grasped the Star-picking Order and entered the Third Tier Martial Arts Secret Realm of the Star-picking Tower.

He directly chose to take on a challenge.

Yesterday, Xu Jin had climbed to the seventh spot, but unfortunately, the sixth spot was not available for a challenge, and Xu Jin had to give up.

Today, as he entered the Third Tier Martial Arts Secret Realm, he once again challenged the sixth spot.

”[The sixth-ranked Qiu Shan has accepted the challenge and will soon enter the Secret Realm Battlefield]”

The Starlight message came through, bringing joy to Xu Jin, who was glad to find his opponent online.

The next instant, the starlight transformed, and he entered the Secret Realm Battlefield.

[Terrain: Snowy Mountain]

It was a man draped in beast hides.

This caused Xu Jin’s gaze to slightly pause, a member of the Barbarian Clan!

Within the top hundred ranked, this was his first encounter with a Barbarian Clan genius.

The next instant, as the timing Starlight shattered, Qiu Shan’s giant bow in his palm instantly drew a full bow, and a dark green light rapidly bombarded Xu Jin in a series.

Boom!

With the Thunder Wing exploding, Xu Jin charged directly towards Qiu Shan.

But in the instant of his advance, the three arrows that just missed him exploded instantly, then formed a dark green Star Net, swooping down towards Xu Jin.
