Star Martial Era: The Way of Star Light Cultivation

Chapter 457: Chapter 199 Crazy Woman

”State Preceptor, gentlemen, the biannual All Halls Competition has once again arrived, and our disciples are still battling in the Secret Realm, far from achieving results. Instead of sitting idly here, why not treat this as a biannual teaching conference to evaluate our successes and failures?

Especially since everyone present is normally busy, and it’s rare for us to gather, since we are assembled today, we should take this opportunity to summarize the past six months’ achievements and losses, share some teaching experiences, and if there are any doubts or difficulties, they can also be raised for collective brainstorming and resolution.

At the very least, the State Preceptor could provide us with a clear direction.” Academician Fang suddenly spoke.

His words were sensible and reasonable, and in the end, he even tactfully lifted up the State Preceptor, which was politically correct.

As soon as Fang finished speaking, the Right Libationer, Song Bing, said, ”Academician Fang’s proposal is good, State Preceptor, what do you think?”

The State Preceptor did not immediately give his opinion but slowly looked towards the Left Libationer and the Academicians, ”What are your thoughts?”

”I think it’s good, even for us, it’s rare to be gathered together with the State Preceptor, the Libationers, and the four Academicians. We should cherish such an opportunity. I also have questions to ask and would appreciate guidance from my seniors.” Bi Cheng, one of the Twelve Vice Academicians, was the first to express his opinion, earning an approving look from Academician Fang.

”This proposal, I think it works.”

Academician Gao, usually reticent, suddenly spoke.

This made the waiting Academician Kou Jing restless; he was the current acting Academician, and if this continued, he’d be left out.

Moreover, since two Academicians and one Right Libationer had already expressed their support, it was impossible to oppose it now, even though Kou Jing had already guessed Academician Fang’s intentions, but the proposal was made with public interest in mind.

”Indeed, it’s feasible, State Preceptor, who do you suggest should preside over this matter?” Kou Jing asked.

Before the State Preceptor could respond, Song Bing, who had spoken earlier, added, ”Since it’s a teaching conference under the background of the All Halls Competition, I think the chief Academician from the last competition should preside over the meeting. As for us, we just need to follow the State Preceptor’s instructions and listen to the profound discussions of the Academicians.”

Song Bing had preempted the decision yet managed to praise the State Preceptor again, keeping it politically correct.

Even if the State Preceptor had some thoughts, it wasn’t easy to object now.

”Of course, exactly how to proceed, we still need instructions from the State Preceptor.” On the stage, Song Bing bowed slightly, signaling for guidance from the State Preceptor.

But actually, Song Bing had grasped the disposition of the State Preceptor—such trivial matters and minor powers were generally not interfered with by the State Preceptor.

It was merely about presiding over a meeting.

”The Right Libationer is reasonable, let’s begin! If it turns out well, it can also be used as a precedent for the future,” declared National Master Cheng Yuxiao, giving his final decision.

Song Bing bowed slightly, indicating he understood the order, and then looked towards the Chief Instructor, Yu Da, who instantly got the hint.

”The All Halls Competition teaching conference begins, please, Academician Fang preside over the meeting.”

The proceedings had officially begun.

Academician Fang stood up, cleared his throat, first bowed slightly towards the State Preceptor, then began speaking, ”Since this is a closed-door meeting to summarize the teaching gains and losses over the past six months, and there are no outsiders present, the purpose is to enhance the cultivation speed of our disciples from Dachen Country’s National Daoist School, and also to boost our country’s overall national power, let’s get straight to the point.

The first item, I suggest that the last four Academicians from the previous All Halls Competition report to the State Preceptor and the two Libationers on the reasons behind the poor ranking of their respective Academic Halls, discuss the specific improvement measures taken over the last six months, and then report on the implementation.

Lastly, they should present to the State Preceptor the cultivation achievements of the disciples from their halls over the last six months and the possible expectations for this All Halls Competition!”

This set of statements was rational and fully public-spirited.

But those who were quick to understand, already grasped the intention of Academician Fang.

He wanted to publicly criticize the last-ranked in the previous competition!

Who was the last-ranked in the previous competition?

It was Liu Qingzhu, who insisted on being different and even nicknamed his own hall.

Why this way?

Was it not because of the scene at the start of the meeting?

Academician Fang was looking for retaliation.

And this retaliation was noble and public-spirited, making it impossible for anyone to fault!

For a while, all the Vice Academicians and Instructors were formidable.

Some newly appointed Instructors already understood an adage of the National Taoist School, ”It’s better to offend the State Preceptor than Academician Fang.”

This Academician Fang, not to mention being petty, his retaliation was so swift and fierce!

Keys being, it was all in a justifiable and fair guise.

That was what was truly terrifying!

You couldn’t even get upset!

In an instant, everyone’s attention was once again on Liu Qingzhu, who was sitting despondently at the very end.

This person indeed has character, but being unlucky was just plain unlucky!

Already someone with a thin face, now, he was about to be dragged out for a public lashing.

The Vice Academician ranked second to last, Shen Wei, seeing Liu Qingzhu’s disheartened demeanor, couldn’t stand it and spoke up, ”Instructor Liu is still organizing his thoughts, I’m second to last, let me start...”

”Not possible!”

Shen Wei thought with his thick skin he could set an example for Liu Qingzhu, and this matter would be over, but just as he opened his mouth, he was stopped by Academician Fang.

”Rules are not to be abandoned!”

Rising to his feet, Academician Fang looked at the disheartened Liu Qingzhu and said, ”If summarizing requires organizing your thoughts and you can’t spontaneously report on your own hall’s situation, that shows that Vice Academician Liu doesn’t understand his disciples well enough, doesn’t take teaching seriously, and might even be neglecting his duties!”
