”State Preceptor, we have reached an agreement. This year, our Tianyang Star Hall will take four spots, and Cangming Star Hall will take three spots.” On the Martial Observation Platform, after a brief discussion through whispered transmissions, Star Master Du of the Dachen Tianyang Star Hall, Du Tingyun, provided the answer.

State Preceptor Cheng Yuxiao nodded slightly, but the Left Libationer Meng Yanhui spoke again, ”As for the specific allocation, I ask Star Master Du and Star Master Zhang to clarify so I can record it. When the agreement is in black and white, it will be left to fate.”

”Our side will take the preferred quotas from Pill State, West Sea State, Yan State, and the National Daoist Institute of Dachen.” Du Tingyun gave his answer.

”Our side wants the preferred quotas from Jing State, Song State, and Thunder State,” Star Master Zhang of the Dachen Cangming Star Hall, Zhang Zhen, also gave his answer.

Meng Yanhui swiftly wrote, and in the blink of an eye, the document was complete. He then passed it to State Preceptor Cheng Yuxiao for perusal. Cheng pressed an invisible seal, and a Starlight Seal was affixed to the document. Then, as Meng Yanhui was about to have both Star Masters review the document,

from the back, the Mountain Master of Jinshan Taoist Institute, Dong Zhao, who had been sitting quietly, suddenly stood up. ”Hold on a moment.”

”Hmm?”

As Du Tingyun and Zhang Zhen were about to seal the document, seeing someone interrupting, their faces instantly turned unpleasant. Left Libationer Meng Yanhui also looked towards Dong Zhao, somewhat confused.

”What is it, Dong Zhao?” asked Meng Yanhui.

”Libationer, I have a document here for your perusal.” Dong Zhao presented a document, prompting the Sub-hall Master of the Yan State Branch Hall of the Tianyang Star Hall, Hu Xuechuan, who was sitting in the second row, to look noticeably upset.

Unfortunate.

For the past few years, the plan under the ’A’ mark had been carried out. Unexpectedly, this year the ’B’ plan was put into effect.

This meant a setback for him.

But, compared to the major events of the past, being reprimanded was a minor issue, and he had to accept it.

With just a glance, Left Libationer Meng Yanhui was delighted, immediately passing the document to the State Preceptor for review. After reading it, a hint of joy also appeared on Cheng Yuxiao’s face. By crossing out one quota, it meant potentially securing a brilliant talent, which was excellent.

This Dong Zhao, quite capable of handling matters, was very good at protecting disciples.

When Meng Yanhui handed the document to Star Master Du Tingyun, the latter immediately turned and glared at Hu Xuechuan, ”Hu Xuechuan, what have you done? How could you issue such a document?”

Hu Xuechuan stood up and bowed, speaking softly, ”During the last operation against the Baidou Star Sect, Dong Zhao took timely action. My sub-hall avoided significant losses and saved a few experts, including our Dean Zhou Qingzhu of the Jinshan sub-institute. To express my gratitude, I initiated this document!”

”Hmph!”

Du Tingyun stared hard at Hu Xuechuan for a moment, then reluctantly turned away.

This matter had been reported, and he had reviewed it, but this particular document had not been mentioned.

But the fact that a document like this had been drafted implied the process was far from as simple as the reported battle. Hu Xuechuan must have hidden something.

Yet at that moment, he couldn’t react openly.

All he could do was take Meng Yanhui’s brush, and with a big stroke, he crossed out Yan State, then stamped his own star seal. In his mind, however, he was figuring out how to poach that exceptional talent from Yan State.

The autumn exams of the National Daoist Institute were the busiest time for them every year.

It involved various information gathering and bribery; the reports on Dachen’s top talents were already laid out on their desks.

Including the information on the fourth stage, the Star-picking Pass, which arrived in his hands two minutes before the meeting.

Xu Jin.

Xu Jin, a talent from Yan State with exceptionally strong Divine Soul Power, must be poached.

As per their analysis, the importance of such talents from the National Daoist Institute with strong Divine Soul Power wasn’t that high.

This was because some factors were man-made, such as earlier access to the Heavenly Ascending Stairs to enhance Divine Soul Power.

Including the use of the Mental-locking Golden Pill.

But for Xu Jin, who hailed from Yan State, at most, he could have resources for only one Mental-locking Golden Pill; the rest was all by his own merit.

Comparing this, Xu Jin, who reached the 196th Heaven Rank, was far stronger than those who had entered the Heavenly Ascending Stairs at least three times, like Meng Qingqiu, Yan Chen, and Yuan Feiqing.

For instance, Meng Qingqiu, the granddaughter of the Left Libationer Meng Yanhui, had entered the Heavenly Ascending Stairs at least four times according to intelligence.

Considering that one entry to the Heavenly Ascending Stairs could enhance the Divine Soul Power by at least three to five tiers, Meng Qingqiu’s real Divine Soul Power should be between the 175th to 183rd tiers by comparison.

Hence, Xu Jin’s talent could be seen as extraordinarily strong.

With such talent, especially above the Fifth Tier, the possibility of breaking through to the Sixth Tier was very high.

So, he had to be poached!

Even on the Galaxy Battlefield, a Sixth Tier expert could command their portion of the field.

As all three parties had applied their seals, Dong Zhao let out a long sigh of relief.

Although Dong Zhao believed in Xu Jin’s abilities, the foundations of the Star Halls were not to be underestimated, and there was still a possibility.

In this way, Xu Jin was guaranteed safety.

The tragedy of Ning Yuchan from previous years would not repeat.

”Let’s begin.” With these matters concluded, the State Preceptor Cheng Yuxiao gave the order to the Chief Instructor Yu Da.

The fifth stage of the autumn exam, Contending for the First Place, began!

Yu Da activated the Star-picking Order, and in an instant, a series of light curtains appeared in the sky.
