Madam Li's Identity Is Exposed Again!

Chapter 1429: Chapter 1429: Meeting the Old Master

Chi Enen moved quickly and soon prepared a bowl of tomato egg noodles.

The old butler watched her from the side, and as soon as she was done, he promptly said, ”Miss Chi, it’s too hot, let me carry it.”

”It’s okay, I can carry it, I’ve insulated the heat with a plate.” He was already advanced in age, so Chi Enen felt it inappropriate to let him help and insisted on carrying it herself.

After the old butler mentioned it a few more times, he didn’t insist any further and just let her carry the bowl, walking ahead to lead the way.

Though Old Master Li’s schedule was low-key this time, he couldn’t stay in an ordinary room, so he stayed in the Presidential Suite.

Chi Enen took the elevator and, under the guidance of the old butler, entered the Presidential Suite.

Upon entry, she saw someone with a pale face hastily leaving the suite. Chi Enen couldn’t help but glance again, feeling the person looked familiar, yet couldn’t immediately recall where she had seen them before.

The old butler seemed unsurprised, opened the door, and said to her, ”Miss Chi, come in.”

”Okay.” Chi Enen walked in with the tomato egg noodles.

The Presidential Suite maintained the European palace style that Old Master Li liked; the hotel room was spacious, offering a view of the cityscape through the floor-to-ceiling glass window. Compared to the seaside resort, it was a different kind of style.

Old Master Li sat on the sofa by the floor-to-ceiling window. Chi Enen felt, perhaps mistakenly, that his expression wasn’t pleasant, as if he was furious.

However, as she approached, the furious expression on his face seemed to subside, making it hard to discern his true emotions. He greeted her calmly, ”You’re here?”

”Yes, hello Grandfather.” Chi Enen placed the tomato egg noodles in front of him, ”The noodles are ready, please eat while it’s hot.”

Old Master Li still harbored unrelieved anger, initially having no appetite.

But seeing the golden egg noodles in front of him, despite being accustomed to exquisite dishes, he unexpectedly felt an urge to eat.

His expression softened a bit, and he picked up the chopsticks, starting to eat.

The taste was somewhat bland, yet not intolerably so; the noodles were cooked soft and tender, bringing an unexplainable comfort when eaten.

He ate the egg leisurely and methodically, then some tomato and noodles, stopping when half was left. He then put down the chopsticks, picked up the napkin beside him to elegantly wipe the corner of his mouth, and remarked, ”So-so.”

The old butler, afraid Chi Enen would take it seriously, played peacekeeper, ”Miss Chi, don’t listen to Old Master Jue, your food must be delicious, this was the most Old Master Jue has eaten in a long time.”

Old Master Li shot him a glare and rebuked, ”Too talkative!”

Then he asked Chi Enen, ”How is Beijue’s recovery?”

Chi Enen knew he would ask her that, so she tried to be detailed, ”The doctor checked him and said the wound is superficial; with proper care for several days, it will heal. Young Master Si also examined him and came to the same conclusion, saying he’s quite fortunate to not be severely injured. The fainting was due to excessive blood loss at the time. Over the past two days, Li Beijue has recovered significantly and is already able to get out of bed and move around. I expect in a few days, he’ll fully recover.”

Old Master Li’s stern expression eased somewhat, ”That’s good.”

Chi Enen thought he might settle scores with her, given Li Beijue was hurt saving her this time, yet Old Master Li showed no intent of bringing it up. She moved the corner of her mouth slightly but didn’t proactively mention it.

If she brings it up and Grandfather tells her to leave Li Beijue, will she really have to leave?

Since not, there’s no need to be overly sensitive!
