Madam Li's Identity Is Exposed Again!

Chapter 1040: Chapter 1040: Showing No Mercy

There!

Chi Enen carried the porridge, heading towards the direction of the coughing sound.

As she walked, she felt a headache.

From the sound of the cough, it seemed the vocal cords were somewhat hoarse, likely due to a severe cold, no wonder the Old Butler looked so anxious.

Chi Enen knocked on the door twice.

A commanding voice came from inside, ”Come in.”

Old Master Li didn’t know it was Chi Enen outside, nor did he expect the Old Butler to have the audacity to decide on his behalf to allow Chi Enen to take care of him. He thought the person coming in was the Old Butler, rubbing the temples on his aching forehead, speaking without raising his head, ”How is the development project in Nancheng going? And did you reject Duke Louis’s invitation for me?”

After he finished speaking, it seemed his throat was uncomfortable again, and he instructed, ”Forget it, let’s talk about these things later. Pour me a cup of water. Postpone my schedule for the next two days, and if anyone visits, just say I’m not feeling well and am not seeing guests for now.”

Chi Enen put down the bowl in her hand, turned around to pour him some water.

She carefully found the honey, added a spoonful into the water, stirred it evenly, and handed the water cup beside the bed.

Old Master Li leaned up from the gorgeous big bed and was about to reach for the water cup when he suddenly realized the slender, fair wrist in front of him definitely didn’t belong to the Old Butler!

His falcon-like eyes narrowed suddenly, practically the next second, his left hand had already reached the gun under the pillow. At the same time, he raised his head, and when he saw the person standing beside his bed was Chi Enen, his hale and hearty eyes suddenly sank, coldly questioning, ”Why is it you?”

The second sentence was a merciless reprimand, ”Get out!”

Chi Enen was already prepared for his attitude and did not get teary-eyed or run away in panic because of his harsh reprimand.

She acted as if nothing had happened, as if she hadn’t seen the Old Master’s rejecting attitude or heard his words to drive her away, insisting on handing the honey water to him, ”Grandfather, have some water first.”

Old Master Li stared at the water cup still in front of him, showing no sign of being taken back, his sharp eyes narrowed, and suddenly, he knocked over the water cup with a backhand.

With a clatter, the water cup smashed onto the ground.

The cup shattered into pieces, glass shards scattered everywhere. His face showed no expression, extremely authoritative, ”Get out!”

This attitude was undoubtedly a slap in the face for any girl!

Even a girl with a strong mental fortitude might not be able to withstand this kind of attitude from the other person’s grandfather and would probably choose to back down.

Chi Enen took a deep breath, and in her mind flashed that man’s growling voice, ’Chi Enen, since you’re going, remember, no retreating! I forbid you to retreat!’.

The embarrassment and helplessness in her eyes vanished instantly, restoring her calm and composed demeanor. She looked at the Old Master and said softly, ”I’ll go make another cup.”

Saying so, she really went to get another cup and pour water again.

Old Master Li’s eyebrows tightened and tightened, the already aching temples felt even more painful.

Could it be his attitude just now wasn’t firm enough? Or does he now not look intimidating anymore, why isn’t she scared of him?

Almost everyone was afraid of him, especially when he was angry, so why wasn’t she? Where did she get the nerve, after he twice told her to leave and knocked over the water cup, to dare to pour water again?
