Chapter 727: Chapter 727: Nuonuo Has a Genetic Disease

“Nuonuo has a genetic disease,” Chi Enen bit her lower lip tightly, barely managing to continue, “a blood clotting disorder, that is, hemophilia.”

This disease wasn’t too significant yet wasn’t minor either, just like the princess in the story of Sleeping Beauty who was cursed by the witch from birth. As long as she wasn’t pricked by a textile needle, there would be no issue. But once she pricked her finger, she would fall into a deep sleep.

“When Nuonuo was born, I had a thorough medical checkup done for her, and the doctor said that although I was lucky not to be affected, Nuonuo… still inherited the genetic disorder of blood clotting dysfunction. As the name implies, we ordinary people might accidentally scratch our skin or cut ourselves, and it wouldn’t take long to stop the blood flow and slowly form a scab. Nuonuo won’t,” she explained.

“If she accidentally cuts her hand, she isn’t able to heal on her own, the blood will just keep flowing non-stop, until all the blood in her body is gone,” she added with sorrow.

With this disease, minor injuries were still manageable, and there was time to rush her to the hospital and use special medication to stop the bleeding.

But in the case of a severe accident causing damage to blood vessels, there would basically be no chance of rescue. That’s why the nanny, who had been working for a year and lost Nuonuo the day before yesterday, was dismissed without mercy, regardless of how the nanny tried to argue or apologize. It was because Nuonuo was not an ordinary child; she had a fatal flaw that required adults to pay more attention to and care for to ensure her healthy growth.

“This year, I have been looking for experts in this area, trying to find a way to cure this disease. But because it’s so rare and genetic, there has been little progress,” Chi Enen said as she glanced silently at the little figure on the sofa, her gaze exceedingly tender.

But she didn’t regret her initial decision, even though Nuonuo was born two months premature and had inherited the genetic disease of blood clotting dysfunction, as long as one was careful, there weren’t any major problems.

Apart from inheriting the family’s disease, Nuonuo’s body was very healthy, and she was a well-behaved child, who at only one year of age seemed to understand that she wasn’t allowed to play with sharp things like her mom and Uncle usually did.

Sometimes she would be curious when she saw fruit knives, glass toys, and such, but she never made a fuss about wanting them and would even actively walk around them.

Chi Enen, thinking of all the little things over the past year, felt her heart warm and soft, and somewhere deep inside inexplicably collapsed.

Li Beijue had been silent from the beginning, listening quietly until she finished speaking. His thin lips then pressed firmly together, and a flash of anguish crossed his falcon-like eyes as they landed on the little girl looking up at him, “…One year, and not a shred of progress?”

Damn it! Are all the people in the medical field waste?

If this disease has been around for so long, why hasn’t anyone researched a solution?

Just because those who contract this disease are few, rare, so they think researching it would just waste resources and energy?

Chi Enen shook her head, her mood always heavy whenever this topic arose, “No. In this past year, my family has sought many experts in this field for Nuonuo, but not one person said they could cure it. They only prescribed some medication to enhance this aspect of her function, but I haven’t let Nuonuo take them. She is too young, and her body hasn’t fully developed; I think these medications would actually be harmful to her body.”

After all, with blood clotting dysfunction disorders, there was no danger as long as one didn’t get hurt.

“I will find a way. If there truly isn’t a precise treatment for this, then I will find someone to research it! There has to be a breakthrough in three or five years!”
