Chapter 33 - 33: Might Want to Google This One

”Oh my, looks like you’re in trouble, Shisui-kun.”

Inside the Pure Land, Aizen and Konan sat in front of a monitor, watching everything unfold. ”Just as I expected, you still chose this path.”

Says the guy who caused this mess in the first place.

Konan’s lips twitched slightly as she held back her thoughts.

As an outsider, she could see it clearly—Aizen had faked his death to create conflict between Uchiha Shisui and Danzo. No, not just them—he was dragging Sarutobi Hiruzen into this too!

With the Third Hokage’s keen perception, he would surely notice something wasn’t right.

And with the seeds of doubt Aizen had already planted, Hiruzen’s distrust toward his old comrade Danzo would only grow. This would drive an already divided Konohagakure even further apart.

What a terrifying strategy. This Aizen was truly devious!

Konan frowned and turned her gaze back to the screen. The ”corpse” they were looking at—flawless, even from her perspective. So this was the power of Kyoka Suigetsu?

”That’s actually a real human body,” Aizen said casually, as if reading her thoughts. ”Though, to be precise, it should be called an artificial body.”

An artificial body?

Konan paused, realization dawning on her face. She had seen the concept before in Bleach—an artificial body that looked no different from a real human.

”Even Kyoka Suigetsu can’t hypnotize every single resident of Konohagakure in such a short time,” Aizen said in a calm, almost gentle voice. ”To avoid any unexpected issues, I prepared this artificial body in advance.”

Konan was silent for a moment before asking, ”So you’ve been planning this from the start?”

”Not just from the start—since the very moment I stepped into Konohagakure,” Aizen chuckled. ”From the day I entered the orphanage, I had already scripted Aizen Sosuke’s death.”

From the moment he entered Konohagakure?

Konan’s eyes widened in shock. He had told her before that he arrived at the orphanage when he was only four. Meaning... he had been preparing for this since he was four years old?

This man is terrifying!

Konan’s hands trembled slightly, but she quickly masked her emotions, turning her focus back to the monitor.

The screen showed Uchiha Shisui, shackled in the prison beneath the Hokage’s office. His expression was twisted with anger, regret, and pain.

He was still blaming himself for the death of his friend, unaware that he was just a puppet, his fate controlled by unseen hands.

Poor kid.

Konan sighed as she looked at the suffering Uchiha. But before she could process her thoughts further, her expression suddenly shifted in shock.

Gag—

On the screen, Uchiha Shisui suddenly let out a dry heave, spitting out a strange, white, foamy substance. The substance moved as if it had a life of its own, rapidly spreading over his entire face.

This is...

Konan’s eyes widened as a single word flashed through her mind—Hollowfication!

Aizen, however, remained completely unfazed. He adjusted his glasses slightly and smirked. ”Oh, looks like Shisui-kun has just opened the little gift I left for him.”

Meanwhile, inside the prison beneath the Hokage’s office—

Uchiha Shisui felt his consciousness sinking into an endless abyss. He was surrounded by nothing but darkness.

”Yo, Shisui.”

A teasing voice rang out as a shadowy black figure appeared before him. ”You finally made it here.”

”You again?!”

Shisui’s voice was filled with disgust. He recognized this voice, but he hated it. No one would be comfortable with some unknown being invading their mind.

”Hmph! You’re just as unpleasant as ever!” The black figure sneered. ”Pathetic. So weak it’s painful to watch.”

”What did you just say?”

”I said you’re pathetic!” The figure scoffed. ”Think about it—who was the fool that trusted the Konohagakure higher-ups so much that his best friend got killed? Who was the one who had his enemy right in front of him, but got held back by two nobodies?”

Silence.

The words from the black shadow stabbed into Shisui’s heart like a knife. But soon, another question hit him. ”What do you mean by ’defective product’?”

He remembered the two Root ninja under Danzo who had blocked his way. Their speed was so fast that even his body flicker couldn’t keep up. And this black shadow seemed to know all about them?

”It means exactly what it sounds like.” The shadow seemed to sneer. ”You couldn’t even fight off the spiritual pressure from those low-level rejects. Uchiha Shisui, you really are useless. In that case, just give me your body!”

With a flash, the figure charged straight at Shisui.

Boom.

A deep, heavy thud echoed through the endless abyss.

The hollowfication process had begun.

From Konan’s view, it was clear that Uchiha Shisui was now completely covered by a white, hollow-like shell, no longer looking human at all.

Luckily, Sarutobi Hiruzen trusted Shisui enough that he hadn’t assigned anyone to guard him. Otherwise, whoever saw this might’ve been scared to death on the spot.

Without hesitation, Konan snapped a picture and sent it to the group: Guess who this is?

Doujin Artist: You can’t even tell it’s a person anymore. How are we supposed to guess, Konan? You’re putting me, Fat Tiger, in a tough spot.

Curly-haired Guy: That’s hollowfication, right? Full hollowfication? That Aizen guy again—who’s the unlucky test subject this time? Hopefully it’s Sarutobi Hiruzen.

Amegakure Village’s Angel: No, it’s Uchiha Shisui.

Doujin Artist: Wow... That’s Aizen for you. Always targeting people we know.

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: He looks so pitiful...

Curly-haired Guy: Tch, Uchiha Shisui, huh? He already had it rough in the original story. And now he’s caught up in Aizen’s experiments? Although... maybe if he fully hollows, he could get super regeneration? Like, even if his eyes get gouged out, maybe they’ll grow back? Actually... he might come out of this stronger.

Scarlet Lotus Fairy: I just hope he’s okay.

This is an Actor: No need to worry. He’ll pull through. He’s my chosen friend, after all. Something like this won’t bring him down that easily.

Doujin Artist: Now that’s the kind of thing only Aizen-sama would say!

Amegakure Village’s Angel: Aizen-sama, Haki!

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Aizen-sama, please help me. Where do I find a site to run these Absolute Ability Project experiments?

This is an Actor: Hmph, I’d recommend Baidu for that.

[Notification: Shark-Faced Guy has joined the group]
