THE GOD EATER

Chapter 1255: A Better Training Alternative.

However, as good as the Hunting Form Metac was, there was something about the events of the previous timeline made him hesitate to activate it and get to work. To be exact, he was now concerned about the guardian.

When he remembered the guardian’s shock when he activated the Rewind Metac, he thought, ’With the way the guardian was surprised by me using a Divine Metac in the previous timeline, maybe I shouldn’t activate the Hunting Form Metac.’

’I need to find another method that wouldn’t raise any eyebrows if discovered. It would be better if this alternative method were a more efficient way to stimulate the Devouring Supreme Metac.’

He liked using the Hunting Form Metac to figure out a better conversion efficiency and didn’t want to stop using it. But he didn’t want to be destroyed in the present and past again, so he could only grumble about the inconveniences of being weak as he began trying other methods.

The Hunting Form Metac was good for figuring out the best positions of divinity for the efficient activation of the Supreme Metac because it was vastly inefficient even when activated perfectly, which made it easier for him to spot inefficiencies.

Secondly, the Hunting Form Metac could only activate a small portion of the Supreme Metac a little at a time, making it possible to tackle the inefficiency in a small group of divinity instead of the whole 27 units.

Of course, this method isn’t perfect. For one, when the amount of divinity he needed to align perfectly became too much for the Hunting Form Metac to activate at the same time, he would have to retire this method.

For now, he only needed to align 3 out of 27 units of divinity perfectly. The Hunting Form Metac is already struggling to handle this much and would definitely be unable to handle up to 4 units.

So after a while, he would need to find a better method. But until then, it was better to work with the Hunting Form Metac. After all, he had nothing better to use.

The Devouring Ability could handle all 27 divinities in the Supreme Metac, giving it strong potential for future utility in the pursuit of conversion efficiency. The problem was that it always activated all 27 units of divinity, making it hard to corner and focus on a few units of divinity.

Suddenly he had an idea. His eyes lit up as he thought, ’What if I activate it really fast? If I activate it a million times in a second, maybe it will help me increase the efficiency faster.’

He immediately got to work. He activated the Devouring Ability, pouring lifespan into it and causing the godhead to flare brighter.

However, instead of activating the Devouring Ability once and keeping it activated while he changed the position of the 27 divinity a little at a time to see if there was any effect, he chose to activate it rapidly in a short amount of time.

Each time the Devouring Ability activated, he took a mental note of its conditions and activation efficiency. Next, he deactivated it and changed the position of divinity. Then he activated the Devouring Ability again and recorded its performance.

He tried this method for a full 60 seconds. When he was done, he had this to say: ’Garbage!’

’It was a bad idea. It only increased the consumption of divine crystals.’

’There was no difference in how fast it could help me increase the efficiency. In fact, the time I took to activate and deactivate it only slowed my progress. It is better to keep it activated while I make my changes,’ he thought, frustrated.

Then he sighed and said, ’If only there were a way to use a 2-D Metac that looked like a 3-D Metac on the outside.’

To solve this problem, he tried to create a 2-D version of the Devouring Ability. It was a success in that he managed to create a cut-down version of the Devouring Ability. It was weaker and inefficient, but it could work.

Unfortunately, a 2-D Metac couldn’t fool the guardian, since the guardian could see directly into his godhead. So he decided to activate both the 3-D and 2-D versions at the same time.

When he thought about it, he nodded again and again. ’It should work,’ he thought.

’That way, it would look like I activated the 3-D version on the outside while I’m really using the 2-D version. It might really deceive him.’

The idea sounded good, and when he envisioned it, it looked good in his head. Besides, he believed that he had nothing to lose, so he decided to give it a shot.

Immediately after he activated both versions of the Devouring Ability, he felt a resonance between them. It was like two similar waves meeting and combining into something greater than either one.

’This is the constructive interference of two superimposed waves. If I use it to combine the two, not only can I mobilize all of the divinity at once, but I can also focus on a specific group to increase their alignment.’

’It really can combine the advantages of the 2-D and 3-D versions perfectly. This will help me gain conversion efficiency faster,’ he thought excitedly.

On its own, the Devouring Ability could only mobilize a volume of 9^3, which is 729 units. This is the maximum size of the Cosmic Supreme Metac.

If not for the fact that the limit had already been reached, combining the 2-D Devouring Ability with the 3-D version would have helped raise the volume of the Supreme Metac that can be mobilized.

But even if the total volume couldn’t be increased, activating both versions and combining their wave fronts could improve activation accuracy.

The waveform of the 2-D version is only 8^2, which is 64 units in size. So it was tiny compared to the 3-D version’s waveform. But by aligning their troughs and peaks, he could align the units of divinity faster.
