THE GOD EATER

A while later, he found himself in the physical world. He was in the awakening room, forming his Cave Heaven and advancing to rank 6. At the same time, Fenrir from the future came with the heart of the medium world.

Loki was still keeping control of his emotions and thoughts, so he was still being quiet mentally and emotionally. His face was calm as well as his mind.

He felt as if he could accept any outcome at this point, be it good or bad. He wasn’t sure if this state of mind was real or a facade, but he truly hoped from the bottom of his heart that it was real.

Time ticked by as Fenrir digested the heart of the medium world. Every moment of it was torturous to him. He felt that the process of digesting the heart was agonizingly slow.

Fortunately, the waiting didn’t have to go on forever. An hour later, Loki was done forming his Cave Heaven, and Fenrir was done digesting the heart.

Even though Fenrir was done, he didn’t feel any different. So he activated the Power Identification Ability to check.

When he saw this, his heart sank to its lowest point. Even though he didn’t want to feel it, disappointment still surged through his mind.

After all, not only did he fail to advance to rank 6, but even the amount of lifespan that he gained from the previous timeline was gone. So it looked as if he had wasted his time and effort going after the medium world.

This great feeling of disappointment made him sigh and say to himself, ’It seems my state of low expectations and willingness to accept any outcome was not real. I was really looking forward to advancing to rank 7.’

Then he tried to smile as he thought hopefully, ’Fortunately, this is not the end. This failure only means that I can’t rely on shortcuts. There is still a method of advancement that I am sure will work.’

’As long as I work hard enough to earn divine merit points, I will surely advance to rank 7. When that happens, I will devour whatever Divine Position I use to advance, and I will surely advance.’

His smile was strained at first, but as he spoke more about his next plan, the smile became genuinely hopeful. This was because he was certain that this plan would work.

So he felt confident as he went with Muni to the sect grounds to register. Then he left the Blessed Heaven World.

He went to assimilate every small world that he knew of. These small worlds included the one from Hammock, the one from Lady Red, the one with the Viper World King, the four ridiculously small ones that he learned about from the divine constellation, and finally the two he bought from the auction in the previous timeline.

As for the 15 million square kilometers, small world that belonged to the Thorn House of Commerce, he didn’t go there to try and take this time around. This is because he wanted to be able to fight Forced Exchange later and take the 500 divine merit points from the money cultivator after he forces Forced Exchange to surrender.

If he were to go after that small world right now, he would gain four small worlds and an extra 15 million square kilometers from the Thorn House of Commerce. But if he let the small world go, he would get four small worlds and 500 divine merit points.

Since his current plan to advance to rank 7 is hinged on gaining enough divine merit points to advance to rank 7, he decided that it was a better idea to prioritize divine merit points over 15 million square kilometers of Cave Heaven.

His decision was further empowered by the fact that he can increase the size of his Cave Heaven easily through other means, while divine merit points aren’t so easy to earn.

The two small worlds of 87 million square kilometers and 79 million square kilometers were the last small worlds that he went to. He was afraid that someone would be there watching the two small worlds, but he found the place empty, just like it was in the previous timeline when he bought them.

As he assimilated the two small worlds, he chuckled and said to himself, ’I wonder what their owner will feel if I tell them that I bought more of their small worlds with the world essence that I gained from the small worlds that I stole from them.’

’If I were the one someone did that to, I would kill that person. So maybe I shouldn’t tell that seer that I am cheating him, no matter how badly I want to know how he will feel about the matter and no matter how much I want to gloat about him.’

Without telling the seer that he was the one who stole the two small worlds, he was sure that the seer would be very angry for the singular fact that the seer sold the small world at a price that was far higher than the amount of world essence that could be gained from it.

This mismatch in value only appears when the price in world essence is compared with the value of world essence that can be gained from the small world. When the other things that can be gained from the small world are factored into the calculations, the mismatch won’t be so glaring.

Aside from world essence, the small world also possessed living things and a symbol of authority. These were both useful things.
